The waiting is finally over!! I love this car, looks much better with a wing like the F1 LM, this is my MP4 LM

No........ just buy the pack and try the other cars out. C63 and the CTS- V are very nice cars. CL65 is eye candy. The rest are just meh.... But for the MP4 alone I'd say no.

I know what you mean about the compression Camaroboy.

Here's some I took offscreen and you're right, it's the Genesis Coupe.

There's some glitch that cuts the letters on the centre console.

WOW! Look at all those jagged edges. :P Looks like a high-rez version of a GT4 interior. :P

Gran Turismo 4 didn't have modelled interiors. Regardless, it doesn't look so terrible, and should be practically unnoticeable during gameplay, since interiors appear to have the same polygon count as in bullshot mode. Gran Turismo 5 isn't entirely devoid of jaggies either.

Of course it did, you could see the interiors through the windows or very clearly using a convertible with the roof down. Just because there was no interior view that doesn't mean they aren't modeled. They clearly were, just not to a high enough standard to put a camera right up to them.

Oh my gosh. Has the GT v Forza argument spilled over into here now as well!? I swear people are following me around with this crap.

Nice work on the Firebird Poster jmx2222. 👍

I'll second that! 👍 Good photos but even better use in the poster. Great stuff.

Oh and just to get back on track, i searched google as i dont own the game, but came back with this very sexy looking beemer. Anyone know if its a promo shot or a photomode picture. It looks pre rendered to me. However chromatic has some shots that come close 👍

Paintjob that I'm working on. Consider this as a finished "Mk1". I need ideas on how to make a better "Mk2" though :P Any suggestions? :3

Looks alright so far, is it based on a real design? the only thing I can see it that the black logos on the blue are pretty hard to make out, I don't know if that's just the shot or if they are when you view the car in the game.

Quite, however I'm not sure why my post was quoted as such. A technical fact is not an argument nor was that fact posted with any bias toward one side or the other. If you think the thread is being spoiled just hit the report button. It wouldn't offend me anyway ;).

As for that Beemer, I'm pretty sure that's a promo shot.

Judging by the T10 logo in the bottom right that isn't there in any of the other shots, I would say pre-rendered. But I don't have the game, so what do I know. ;)

Read those posts you quoted again. No one was making arguments regarding the Gran Turismo versus Forza debate at all.

Ah, whenever you download a shot from the Forza site, it always ends up looking like bum :P The black writing looks better in the game, but I just added it there for detail :P

Original design. I was looking through the storefront and I was tired of all the Monster/Rockstar/Red Bull designs, and I found a rather nice carbon effect, so I decided to give it a shot :sly:

Anyone have any Grand Am replicas of the Stevenson Camaros or the Kinetic Kias? or any of the other Rolex GT/Continental Tire cars?
The Forza 3 storefront allows you to enter the text of anything you want to search for. You could set it to the year Camaro or Kia you want, then enter the key words to look for. I am sure you will find something. It also saves the key words you enter so you dont have to enter them each time. So far every design I have ever looked for has been made one way or another in Forza 3.

I just wish the pics turned out better when they are compressed on the Forza 3 site. The game looks MUCH better than the pics represent. Thats what creates so much confusion. The pics get compressed a lot by the time they get to the Forza 3 site. I used my camera and took a pic of my HDTV one day and then posted the in game pic from the Forza site and the difference was massive.

This is one of the few pictures I took that actually turned out decent when it got to the Forza 3 website. It looks even better than this on my HDTV. Forza 3 really should have created a way to save the pics to a flash drive becuase the pics truly look much better in game than the crappy compressed version.

It's a in-game photomode shot that isn't compressed, so it actually looks really nice. If T10's upload system didn't make the pictures look so bad, all the photomode shots would be of, or near, that quality.

Thats really impressive that is. But why cant you save the photos to your xbox directly? Is that a hardware or software shortcoming? Also does forza have straight to youtube video uploading, like GT5 is rumoured to? I'm guessing those would look quite terrible. Handy feature though i guess.

Heres another image i found anyway, be it a promo, uncompressed photomode, whatever, its looks incredible!

Well, as Mc told me (I'm sure he'll clarify) T10 wanted to have photos exported directly to the USB drive that came with all of the LCE's, but MS essentially said "No." You can, however, still put together photos that nearly match the quality of those that are uncompressed...by photo-stitching.

So, it's neither a software nor a hardware limitation - it's a corporate limitation. :odd:

The face isn't directed toward you, but them (MS).

Yes it's true that T10 wanted to use the USB function for photos.

If you want to retrieve your photos you must have a Xbox live Gold account. So this is why they won't allow you to use USB. Also maybe a security reason but I don't believe that. With having to upload to fm.net, your photos are compressed to hell resulting in a small file size to not clog up the servers and take up too much storage although you only get to host 18 photos at one time on fm.net. What kills me is MS expect me to pay £27 each year for some blurry photos and I have to upload each photo one at a time from the game then run to my desktop PC and log into fm.net and download them one at a time. It really doesn't thrill me to pay up. I expect to get high quality photos on my USB for free. If I have to pay £27 a year (costs a lot more through trusted sites and MS themselves), you'd expect to be able to upload high quality 500kb files, but no. I don't understand how people are happy to pay for such an archaic service in 2010, but I'm not interested in FPS games etc. I just want my photos and to browse the storefront for liveries. It would be a waste of money to me. I should be getting a capture card soon but it wouldn't surprise me if MS make the hud permanent on the next game when setting a photo up to stop the people with cards getting free photos.

So right now you can use a capture card to avoid compression stage in photomode but your photos still won't look like the T10's own dev shots. We'd need a software patch to add 16xAA in photomode and maybe other lighting effects to get close to whats shown above but the higher poly photomode models are on the disc and we should get a photomode that comes close and actually show the work put into them. I don't understand how MS don't want quality shots and lots poor ones floating around the web. Shame really. I don't see a problem with uploading 500kb file but MS want to keep it around 60-100kb.

Hope the next Forza is better I heard Dan of T10 say they've made improvements to the games engine and graphics. Would be a crying shame if we have the same old blurry compressed photos. Seems T10 is hard at work building up quality models. Perhaps a launch title for a new machine as well?

Anyhow, please don't quote me and derail the thread. I'm just explaining it to Captain Roh.

It's unfortunately, a Microsoft shortcoming. Several games like Forza, do hold the abilities to transfer via USB device, but Microsoft doesn't allow it. As far as I can see, the only reason MS won't do so is simply because they can't control it. Now, a rep. will most likely say otherwise but, imo, the only way you'll see it come to light is through the idea of a USB sold by MS themselves made directly for the Xbox 360 & then labeled as the only USB that works.

How that would work, I don't know, but it seems like the only thing MS would do to insure they make money off such an 'unimportant' thing.

As for video uploading, they are just as bad. If I remember, you can only upload a 30 second video & with the way the servers work, it'll either take forever to upload & or won't do so at all.
