Thank you. The shape of the high chair is what drew me to it ;) most likely going to be using those sides on the next build. Either vertical and used for seat supports or turn them 90 and use them around the pedals. Prob the latter.

Edit: well I kind of lied. Started doing a little work today. Stumbled on a pair of old bucket seats for free . Took the adjustable bracket off one and went to work on the sandblaster.... these things have been in an open storage trailer for near a decade. Got them nice and clean and painted up. Found some brackets to mate it to my race seat, gave them the same treatment.
Not content here I started rootin thru some more of the trailers. Found the brake cylinder from an old racing kart of mine. Time to find the caliper and get that sucker fused with my csp's. It should be pretty easy doing it the way Im thinking but I may experiment with the hydraulics actually activating the load cell.
Took some before and after pics, but am going to save them for its own thread.
Might start building the seat frame tomorrow, just not sure if i want the armrest and shifter to be hard mounted to the flooring or to the seat so it moves with it.

Rambling on here.

Hi everyone! This is my first post but hopefully not my last, been reading this forum for a while and the thing am most interested in is the rigs you guys have, some are f%&#¤ng awsome!! There`s a lot of brain activity behind creating some of the rigs here...!!
I`m now mostly playing GT5 and Forza 4, and here is my setup..
The Playseat GT style with the Fanatec GT2 wheel and the standard pedals (am going to switch to the CSP when my wife lets me..), the tv is a 60" lcd with full HD. Also have a buttkicker installd to the seat..
The room is for both playing and movies, enjoy..! :)

Very nice!!!

The curtains are an excellent idea. Good looks and should help buffer echoes.

I prob snag the idea. Been considering a curtain in my rear and only opening in my man cave/game/movie room.

I also have an aucustic innerceiling so the room is dead quiet with no echo what so ever..!! :-)

Been working on a base and a armrest/gearshift holder for my Playseat, and heres what i got so far...
Sorry for the bad quality pics, will use my premium camera when the rigg is done.. :)

Put my sub amp for the buttkicker in the armrest...

With freq and volume control..
IMAG0350liten.jpg

A nice soft armrest wrapped in some fabric. (will be nicely cut into place..)
IMAG0364liten.jpg

The base is also going to be wrapped in fabric.
I`m also going to put a pair of wheels in the back and a handle in the front for easy moving... :)

Caz
I made some changes to my humble rig, this beast started life as a high chair for my daughter.💡

Nice setup Caz.

I'm unclear as to what the Move controller is doing. Is that explained in a previous posting which I missed? I'm assuming that it's not just decorative and you're using it as a handbrake of some sort, but I donno how. :)

Like how you've used the arm rest to house the amp! I'd the same idea for the PS3. Nice job 👍 I prefer the home made solutions, and seeing the idea's other's come up with

My rig as of now. Hoping to get an Asus G53sx and a racing seat in the near future.

80gig 2nd gen ps3
240gig Xcox 360
MacBook Pro 15inch with OSx Lion and Windows 7 Ultimate
17inch TV/Computer monitor Sharp Aquos 60hz
Fanatec GT3 RS V2
Clubsport Pedals
Steelseries Siberia V2 headset (works on all systems)

Gaming Rig

Just finished this today. I'm going to remake the base of the chair out of tubing and make it about 5 inches higher. My wife is using it here:

I'll take better pics when I get the seat base updated. So far, I'm love it (and so is my wife!).

Here's what I've been building. I still need to finish up a few things with it.

Tig welded aluminum, adjustable sliding inverted pedal cage, reclining seat with sliders, adjustable shifter mount front to back and installs right or left side.

I still have to finish up my seat mount features tomorrow. The whole seat stand removes in minutes to use as a solo gamer chair. E-brake and TV mount to come. It still needs a mild wet sand and then a rub with some mothers aluminum polish to get it looking really good. I am going to try to start selling these pretty soon.

A method to hide cables is a must if you plan on selling these.

Nice looking rig for sure!

Thank you! I've got some nice clips for holding wires I just need to get the right screws to use with them tomorrow. I am also going to make the future builds same in the design but more modular to make shipping easier and cheaper.

Honestly that seat looks tall. Like your in a semi truck.

Sports cars and race cars don't have drivers sitting so high. I'd recommend revamping your ergonomics to something more similar to a sports car at minimal. Think Low cent of gravity.

Also consider you head location compared to TV's you want the eyes no higher then mid screen.

Just my opinion. Hope it is of use. :) if not ignore it

Thank you for the input. It's nowhere near semi height. top of the seat bracket is 10 inches.

It could be lower and it could be harder to crawl into like a f1 cockpit but I'm going for comfort, adjustability, strength in the wheel mount area and leg room to get into it from either side since the shifter is adjustable.

I let my friends 6 and 8 year old drive on it with the seat slid forward and pedals slid back a little and they had no problem reaching anything, and I'm 6' 7" tall and about 240lbs and I actually don't run it with the seat all the way back so I think it will fit a 6'10" person no problem. Pretty good variance in player size.

10inches for the seat seems a bit too high to me as well. Maybe 8 or so would be better in my opinion. Are the pedal positions adjustable? I noticed the brake and throttle pedals are quite far apart. For the guys that play sims with simulated clutch dynamics, heel toe is important. Looks like it will be a bit complicated with the space there :D

Looks nice though, i must say i'm interested... but i live in Japan. Kind of far lol

thank you for the compliments

I'll post some pictures and vids asap of kids through adults using this after I get the last couple things done. currently the pedal cage slides front to back for leg length, The individual pedals move up and down their mount by using different mounting holes and currently the gas and brake pedal pad is mounted far right on the gas arm and the brake pad is mounted far left so there is room for them to come together more (logitech pedal pads allow you to mount them left/center/right). heel toe is kind of why I spread them out some. I have yet to tune them in fully.

My main goal in this was comfort for a wide range of player sizes and ages as well as enough structure to hold the wheel firmly. For a strength test my friend and myself BOTH sat on the platform where the wheel sits with our feet up with no problems and that was about 430lbs. It is both strong and light.

I have also considered fully redesigning the pedal cage to a front to back, up and down and side to side adjustable pedal cage, I have to get off the ground first. I'm just getting started

Yeah Japan is far, but building it out of aluminum allowed enough strength and kept weight down for easier/cheaper shipping as well as future builds will be more modular to make shipping cheaper. I am going to get this one sold locally and get to work.

Oh my...that looks sweet!
HumanRacingGT is by far the best looking rig on the market, can't explain how clean and nice your setup looks.

I'll post mine soon, needs some cable management first.

I like that a lot. Just a random question. Your GT5 case looks Holographic. Is this true or am I going crazy...
