Toyota Alphard Ex Lounge '18 - 694PP - Racing Soft Tires - All Track - 1.41

Rims size up to you - Rim Width Wide - Offset Wide

Front B - Side A - Rear B - Wing A

@danrdz6

Finally i did a maxed setting because the car is very fun like this. Of course the grip is fantastic , can fight with the best 700PP if the track is not so fast. Top speed is not very good due to bad CD "drag coefficient".
I'll do another specific 600PP Sport medium tires soon.

Enjoy your drive.
This tune is amazingly fun! I wasn't expecting it to be anywhere near as good to drive as it is, but it's a blast throwing it around the track. Cars like this are one of the things I love about Gran Turismo. Thanks for your fantastic work!

hello praino the first report hangs at 1.952 / 134 impossible to hit 214 why? other reports no problem

I have the same issue, and although I have everything else set identically on the car, I also can’t get that gear beyond 1.952/134. I didn’t find an answer in this thread. I’ve tried changing the gearing multiple ways, but haven’t had success matching first in his tune. Everything else is identical. I’m not sure how he’s able to get 1st geared so high. 🤷

If you find a moment Praino to offer some guidance, that would be great. Thanks for the time and effort you put in to make the game more enjoyable!!

Wide body car.
SWAP ENGINE BYH-R8 (Audi R8 4.2)

Rims size 16" - Rim Width Wide - Offset Wide

Front A - Side A - Wing Custom

I've favor power lowering front downforce , because of this i've had to let front springs and dampers very smooth to give natural front grip to the car. It work very well , juust take care to not smash the brake pedal when give strong wheel inputs inducing heavy weight transfer.
This way the car is still fast on Le Mans (4:00 on LeMans) FM6 short shifting and low 2:17 on SPA. A top time for 700PP cars.
Equally excellent non-swapped. Thanks. I used all upgrades, all weight-reductions, giving 538hp and curb weight of 2394 lbs. At LeMans, it’ll hit 202mph on FM1 and gets 2.4 laps on fuel.

You're talking about a post from october 2022. None of those olders settings can match or work perfectly.
There is one actual setting for this car and 1 few more older for 700PP too. Both in post 2.
Remember that sometime you need to perform the call " tranny trick" to set a gearbox.
Final gear to max
Top speed auto minimum
Set each gear
Set again final gear to the given ratio.

Thanks for the reply! I know it’s a bit older, but it was done after 1.30, and those are usually pretty reliable still. First gear matching or not, it won the race handily. Appreciate you!

Thank you for all your hard work developing the tunes. I just wanted to say that I appreciate cha my man! Been playing less than a month and found your tunes when I GTS (Google That ****). Haven't had a bad one yet..

Thanks for all the work you do on these tunes! Is there a reason most of the Group 3s are tuned to 730 and not 700? What's usually the most efficient way to shave 30pp off so they can used for WTC?

The reason is that the Gr.3 races used to be 730pp instead of what they are now which is BOP and most tuning prohibited. I think the reason for the change was to reflect real-life racing in Gr.3 races. Sucks for newer players since it eliminates using many of the advantages we can gain with tuning cars like we so generously are blessed with in this thread.

I believe the best chance at passing the Gr.3 races today is making sure you are driving a manual transmission and are doing the circuit experiences and license tests. You will find good players here who will tell you that there are still vehicles that are better depending on the race. But vehicle choice is not enough. Intermediate to advanced skills are required.

Hi @praiano63 , any progress with the PSVR2 return? Eagerly awaiting your feedback, as I save to buy one for myself!!

A few car tune requests for when you have time. No rush.

Lambo Countach (both of them)
KTM Xbow
Maserati A6GCS Spyder

I've been enjoying your selection of AMG Mercedes tunes the last few days, including the Black which is the most aggressive and most fun. Also been enjoying your Miura tune. Magic drive. Thanks again for your amazing work - keeping the dream alive!

Those races make me realise how average I am at the game, I just can't win em, but won a few when they were 730pp, really frustrating

I second what @onedjyoulike write and i prefer to maxed tune and use GR3 for WTC800 . WTC700 is more a GR4 event in my opinion.

Sony repair center stay in São Paulo , i live 3000km from here. They have sent a special box , i've recieved it day 19 , sent my broken PSVR2 back same day .
Prevision is 30 days max to fix and + 1 week to send it back to my home. let's say early march . Patience . ;)
I'm like a kid with my toys but with time as a brand new geezer , i turn myself a patient kid.

I'll check the cars but the normal countach was broken .

I just started playing this game a few days ago. Is the tunes for the original list of cars still viable. I'm not great at tuning so I been looking for guides and this seems really good if they are still accurate.

All my cars are in post 1 of my garage , classified by PP or alphabetic / brands / order .
Post 2 are for Engine Swap.
Here.
Quick question. On the '81 911 Turbo 930 how did you get front downforce to 0? I have everything set up according to the pictures and the minimum I can set front downforce is to 50

Because you've set the rear diffuser part A in GT Auto . I didn't use on my car.

I'm not quite the geezer you are.

But in gaming and especially on Twitch, I feel like a geezer at 45. It is worth the wait and makes me feel like a kid again and the way the immersion feels like we're living in the future. The only thing that sucks to me is when a car has crappy gauges and it's hard to see when the optimal shifting point is. Or when there is no cockpit view whatsoever. But I think with you stating you prefer the cockpit view, then you already are suffering the consequences of the latter.

SF23 Super Formula / Honda '23 - 947 PP - Racing Soft Tires - Fuji - 1.32

New update after some races testing best options. Final 2d at 3 seconds with some mistakes. To do 8 laps after first pit , 7/8 , a lighter car help to save some rubber . Use Brake balance +5 and never late brake 1st turn and before chicane. It pay better and save a lot of tires.
I use TC1. Up to you. Tomorrow i'll win this Fuji race. Very good race indeed.

EDIT: ANTI LAG SYSTEM STRONG ON

So I know you have posted about how to do a gearbox. I would be curious how you would change this gearbox from Fuji to the Watkins Glen Long course that is required for the weekly challenge. Seeing the differences between 2 courses with the same vehicle tuning might help me understand the instructions better and how to properly change it. Any input from anyone reading this and who understands customizing the gearbox is welcomed. I understand certain courses require a whole different tuning, I'm just hoping this tuning wouldn't fall under that scenario.

I've used this exact Fuji gearbox and it fit perfectly on Watkins glen. Top speed is matching and intermediary gears are ok for most medium speed turns. I love the overall balance of the car so i didn't felt necessary to change anything on it. In my opinion it's already ok.

Yeah, I discovered this on my own after posting this. I did the Watkins Glen with that tune and took 1st with no pit stop. I hit 2 walls on lap 11 which at first I thought was from getting lazy from first place. But then I realized I had 2 tires that were worn completely red and the other 2 almost there. I gambled and rode it out to the end of the race and managed to stay on track and still win.

I also realized there are some tunings where you have a Tokyo Rain tuning and all track tuning in the same post. And the gearbox is slightly different. Is there a specific course you use for 600pp to set the gearbox for all tracks?

Basically, set the final drive so that you can just hit max RPM in highest gear when in a slipstream at the end of the fastest straight.

If you're an elite player, which we are not, gears also want to be individually set to the torque curve but a balance found where individual gears are optimised for the corners of a specific circuit, ie, peak power comes in as you straighten the wheel so that you maximise power and traction.

I've not used Praianos build, I used the 19 stock and had more than enough of an edge to take the win. Key to success is understanding how to use the downforce.

Question for Praianos... Are you using the Tuning calculator to optimise gear ratios according to the power graphs? And if so, have you used it to build suspension setups? What are you thoughts, can the spreadsheet approach build a fast and drivable car?

I did exactly the same thing, but from the start I spun, lap after lap I caught and overtook all the riders to finally win with a comfortable lead with ultra red tires. ;)

with carbon brakes is better
I've never felt any difference between racing and carbon brakes for the moment.
Is there a specific course you use for 600pp to set the gearbox for all tracks?
Normally SPA or Nordschleife.
Are you using the Tuning calculator to optimise gear ratios according to the power graphs? And if so, have you used it to build suspension setups?
About gearbox , i only check the peak power and torque lookingto the graphic or numbers in the garage.
About to set allround balance , suspension , LSD .... using tuning calculator can't work well . You'll have to set your car reading the car's behaviors on track. If you take any car in GT with the same numbers , power / tires / weight distribution .... you'll never have the same sensation testing in same condition. It should be but it don't hapen in GT. This is why i don't trust calculator. They can give the way to do but it'll stay a lot to build a good balanced car. Every case is a special case . Details !

Mazda RX-7 Spirit R Type A (FD) '02 - 700PP - Racing Hard tires - All tracks - SWAP - 1.27

Wide Car
Rims (Up to you) Width Wide Offset Wide
Front A - Side A - Rear B - Wing Custom
Engine Swap : R26B-787B (Mazda 787B)
This is a new version for this car with rear diffuser , The performance are the same as the "No diffuser" at the end , but the superior grip turn the car more fun , with a great precision at the wheel. It's not a top top car 700PP on the Nordschleife , excelent on SPA or any technical turny track.
You can use the car on Sardenia 800PP with max front downforce and Racing medium tires.
The main interest is at le Mans event. You can do 4 laps FM1 with the engine of 787B. Easy to lap under to 4 minutes.

@praiano63 Hello good sir! Is this tune still good? I've double checked a couple of times and i keep getting 690pp...vroom vroom!

@praiano63
Been following your tuning thread since late in GT5 days. Your tunes have come in very handy more than a few times. Thanks!

I do have a question for you or anyone who might know.

Do you know what would prevent a car from having Weight Reduction Stage 4 applied? The car has Stages 1, 2 & 3 on it but GT7 will not let me apply Stage 4.

BTW, if the 63 in your GTPlanet name indicates your year of birth, we share that great year!
