Hey all. I have not visited the forum in a month or two, so I have a question: where has the lists of all the different tunes gone? I was in post #1.

Thanks.
It's been removed by the OP as a consequence of the recent turmoil seen on this forum an all the 'flak' Praiano has received (which was rather unjustified I must say, my 2 cents).

The posts with the tunes are still available on its original thread position, so search this thread for the one(s) you're looking for.

EDIT: Well, I just came back after a few months to get tunes for the latest update cars and was surprised to see everything gone and it's now behind a paywall. Last I checked the old tunes were still here and only new ones are on patreon. Guess someone pissed off the big man and he decided to go the nuclear option. Internet fame really does funny things to people.

Honestly, I get it's tough times financially for a lot of people, especially in that part of the world. And obviously it's a lot of effort to make these tunes. Even more so because of the repeated physics changes by PD. But what's already put out is already there for free for years, just leave them be. New tunes and adjusted tunes for new physics can be on patreon. Or maybe even make it time limited on patreon, and maybe after a month it can be released here. Or put the tunes here behind a monetized link (although that might be against AUP, idk).

I would pay to gain access to the whole library, but not on a subscription basis because I just do not come here regularly anymore for that to be worthwhile. There are lots of tunes that I'm just not interested in, and even those that are of interest sometimes don't fit my needs perfectly so I need to tinker a bit. I don't really tune to PP, and also praiano never does FF or rally tunes. And with most of his tunes having extreme rake, sometimes the front bottoms out (like at Deep Forest's massive dip before the front straight) and it's pretty much useless.

Maybe $20-30 for lifetime access is reasonable (similar to GTP Premium lifetime sub). But $8.5 per month is a bit steep. I saw he already has 1000+ paid subs so that works out to $102,000 a year. And that's for 2-3 tunes a day which for someone of his caliber probably takes 2-3 hours max (maybe even less for just physics updates and tunes for old cars that are just different PP). His time is worth something but not that much. And he already has the console and game from years ago, doesn't even need PS Plus to just tune offline.

Lastly there's the question of what are these tunes worth? Tunes in this game are not needed for a competitive basis. The AI is dog slow and can be beaten even without tuning. Sport mode mostly has locked settings (and on those rare occasions that we have a tuning race, you can still be competitive without one, or even just a few basic tweaks). None of the official championships require tuning. That just leaves online leagues. So I question the need of people who are willing to pay that much for these tunes for not much tangible benefit. I looked around on youtube and found a few good tunes for the latest update cars, so no shortage of replacement there.

Anyway, I'm happy for praiano's new source of income, all the best to him and his family. And those willing to pay for tunes, well you do you. It's your money and you pay for what you think is worthwhile. But I won't be joining the bandwagon. Thank you praiano for all your work all these years. I've been using your tunes since GT Sport. But all good things come to an end. Nothing but respect and good memories of this garage, but this is where we part ways. Peace :)
Tuning is for multiplayer lobbies. For leagues. What do you even do in the game?

Welcome, almost new user.
While, of course, you are free to voice your opinion, I feel free to not agree and simply like tuning to see how much faster I can make a car by putting each slider into the correct value.

Also keep in mind, that by responding to a 2year old post, whatever has been posted can be totally out of the games terms, like how cars handle, or what event is available, and so on.

Toyota Supra GT500 '97 - 790PP - Racing Soft tires - All Track.- 1.42
Very good car for WTC 800PP events. It's an easy very fast car , well balanced good grip and good eagerness. For the SPA 1H event you can do 6 to 7 laps FM1 short shifting , i think the soft tieres can go 7 laps but i didn't test it.

Enjoy your drive.
Sorry if that's a dumb question im fairly new to racing sim gaming and don't have a lot of knowledge when it comes to cars too 😅. I have noticed that on multiple cars now when it comes to gearing sometimes I can't reach the shown numbers. For example with the Supra gt500 '97 I can set gear 2 - 6 and final as shown but the first gear I can only set to 3.092 / 101. Can someone explain why? And how do I get the power from bhp to hp? Is it language based?

2. yes, it is language based.
1. if you cant replicate a gear ratio setting, use the dial BEFORE the detailed gear ratio setup and select a much higher top speed, then go into the detailed gear ratio setup. There is no reason behind this, just bad programming.

Outdated cars for 90%.

Still easy to find any car in the garage.

Search button still works perfectly.

Thank you very much for all of the work you have done here over the years.

I was forced into medical retirement from my job so I can no longer afford subscription fees beyond what I already have because of the internet.

I guess I'll take it from here...best wishes!!

The distance between each gear is relative to the placement of the adjacent gear. For example, if 1st gear can't be lowered enough to match the setting, then slam gears 2 and 3 all the way to the left. Then go back to the 1st gear and you'll now have more room to turn it down further.

You missed the point of "bad programming", in which case it isnt the way you describe:

Some gearboxes, especially 7- or 8-speed transmissions, have limitations on their 1st gear settings, making it impossible to reach a higher speed. There’s a "roof" that restricts how far you can adjust.
You can even set the 1st gear at a lower range if you pass over a optimum "Top speed auto" .

In the pages of this message you will find the old settings, but since the engine physics update of version 1.49, all the old settings are obsolete. If you want new settings, it has become paid on his site.

so there are all the new setups for the new physics on the paid site?
There's a handful of free ones there, but most you need to be a member. He's currently working through a massive list of cars, updating setups for the new physics. The 1.49 update changed things a lot... in my experience some of the setups just before the 1.49 update on here still work OK, it's just a case if trying them. But if there is an updated setup on his patreon then that would be the recommended one to use.

Yes mate, he's done hundreds already since 1.49.

Usual reliable, high qualities.

Patreon setup very user friendly, clean and easy to navigate.

Defo worth it for few £££ a month. I've been subscribing since day 1, as the effort, qualities and output from the main man has been top notch for years. Personally think he deserves it, but as you can tell from comments in this thread, some aren't fully on board with monetization ;).

So I'm more than happy to keep my sub rolling. He's churning out comfortably into double figures tunes each week, i havent counted but must be around 15 plus. And seems to be covering much wider range of cars now. Including decent dose of ff vehicles... something he elected hardly to touch in past, as Praianos not a big fan of ff cars in gt7.

Initially he declared he'd still be posting something like 1 in 7 or 10 tunes on here. But due to negativity (around monetization) from a vocal minority, the praiano has elected to step back altogether from here it seems (for now anyway).

I've implemented iterally every tune he's produced since going to patreon. Find it quite therapeutic in itself recently actually. Whereas I used to find it a pain in the ar5e/time sink, so was more selective re tunes i copied, pre patreon.

Shame pd havent deployed forza style tune sharing. I stick some of my own music on and get on with it.

And remember, (as you've no doubt worked out already), there's no obligation to sign up to 3, 6, 12 months... so...

*Disclaimer - yes, i am on his payroll and will get 3p one off payment for each person who uses my code -

'iliketoplaynakedwithcrocodileclipsattachedtomynipples'.

3p may not sound much, but it does contribute to my electric bill. I tend fire a few hundred volts of electric into myself via the crocodile clips each race (max of 3 times, otherwise it's all too easy). I view it as some kind of warped/demented DRS system. Quite amusing actually, as i briefly scream like a banshee, whilst my face twitches, contorts and osolates... like the lady from twwwooo weeeeeks scene in the OG Total Recall ;)

Same here mate. Iv been using Praino's tunes since GT5 or may have been befoe that. His tunes in GT5 really improved my driving pleasure with online racing in private rooms. Not sure yet if I will subscribe as unfortunately don't spent as many hours on GT as I used to.
