Pre Order confusion....

I called and emailed ebgames and both people confirmed for me the online and store versions will be the same - the Anniversary Edition. The "first batch" of games will all be the same edition. Once they are all sold they will sell whatever the "second run" will be.

"Dear Joe,

Thank you for contacting GameStop.ca.

We apologize for the confusion. You will receive the same version of Gran Turismo 6 that we have listed on the website. You will receive the preordered bonus content.

"

I already pre-ordered through EB games and they told me the same thing over the counter.

as I understand it, all the gamestop pre order versions are either lighter or more powerful or both... also curious to see what PD's dlc content is gonna be... thery're supposedly going to be a lot more this time around...

If PD were smarter, they would offer up car packs for real cash money on a pre-order basis. Cost is virtually zero, just a bunch of code programming but the revenue stream is real. I'd pay an extra $10 for example to get 100 cars. I'd pay an extra $30 to get every car in the game unlocked. For me it's all about time. I don't enjoy grinding or ASpec or any other part of the game except for acquiring, tuning and racing cars...online. If $30 saves me the drudgery of having slog through tons of races I absolutely consider a waste of time, it's well worth it to me, and I'm betting many others would enjoy that option as well. I think the PSN store should also sell game credits so we can buy our way into cars.

Man, I just realised my Stealth SLS AMG is not really a Stealth model. The Stealth models are of already featured cars in the game. There is no regular veraion of the Stealth SLS. it makes me think of the Ford GT TEST MODEL. If that is a stealth car, it was already in GT5P. That means They already had these cars and just put them in a special pack. Meaning, its not like the specially purpose built GT6 15A cars that have a unique design for 15 years of GT(we had Used Stealth LM cars in GT4).

Im happy Im getting the 15A SLS GT3 and Im happy that the regular SLS GT3 is in GT6. Thing is we've been cheated out of the SLS AMG "regular" stealth version. Its over and done. I'll move on now.

You really belong at EA Games... We don't want that greedy BS here, thank you very much.

I'm sort of with you on it being worth that money to avoid the grindy-ness, but as always it becomes "well, why not just unlock the content from the word go?"

It's either money to avoid bad design, or money because the company decided to arbitrarily lock content purely to generate revenue from DLC. I'm not a big fan of either of those, and would rather they make a game that provides the experience that people want out of the box.

I'm not a fan of the freemium model to start with, and I sure don't want to be nickel and dimed AFTER paying full price for a game.

I thought this GT was going to offer a lot of paid DLC upon release. It's not a practise I'm against in general because these type of games normally provide a lot of content in there vanilla versions.
Some may call it "Greedy BS" as you put it though.

Depends on 'what' the DLC is.
If it consists of converting the non-premiums (or stanhards/whatever they're called now) to full premium, or is the rebadging of the same car again (*cough* GT86 *cough*) then it is bad (unless it's free or really cheap). If it's a variety of new cars, tracks, photomode/course maker locations, then it's worth it (which is what I would like to see... :nervous:)

I hate these preorders, they are confusing and retailers don't care. In France, I've noted:
Amazon.fr | Velocity Pack and nothing else:
  • Lotus Europa S.2 15th Anniversary Edition
[*]Volkswagen Scirocco GT24 15th Anniversary Edition
[*]Honda HSV-010 GT 15th Anniversary Edition
[*]Audi Audi Sport quattro S1 Rally Car 15th Anniversary Edition
[*]Ford Ford Shelby GT500 15th Anniversary Edition
I've contacted the customer service, wrote a nice email informing them they may have gotten the preorders deal wrong and how, and they copy-pasted their article descriptions and said there wouldn't be anything else, so no Precision Pack.

Micromania, the French Gamestop counterpart | Torque Pack and nothing else:
  • Ford GT40 Mark I 15th Anniversary Edition
    [*]Pagani Huayra 15th Anniversary Edition
[*]Renault Sport Megane Trophy V6 15th Anniversary Edition
    [*]Alpine A110 1600S 15th Anniversary Edition
    [*]Lancia STRATOS 15th Anniversary Edition
Wrote them a nice email with links to PD's description of the preorders, they didn't even answer.

FNAC.com | Performance Pack and nothing else:
  • BMW BMW Z8 15th Anniversary Edition
  • KTM X-BOW R 15th Anniversary Edition
  • Audi R18 TDI 15th Anniversary Edition
  • Lexus IS F Racing Concept 15th Anniversary Edition
  • Chevrolet Corvette Coupe (C2) 15th Anniversary Edition

On principles alone, I'm not buying anything if they don't mention they provide the Precision Pack. They could at least get their descriptions right, or answer when I waste time writing a sourced question. :-/

Pre-ordered 15th anniversary ed a while back (10/10/13). 25 cars to start with plus my 1 mil  can't wait to start.

You only get either the 25 cars or the 1 million credits(depends on where you ordered from) but not both.

Well, this is confusing.

I already preordered from Amazon. If I also preorder from Gamestop, will I get another million? I'll pay another $60 for another million... and have a gift...

---edit add---

OK, I think I understand now.

With Amazon, I'll get the $1,000,000 credits and five cars.

With Gamestop, I'll get more cars yet, but not more credits.

Will, I have a sense of adventure... I'm going to order the Gamstop one too.

I could care less about the paint, helmets, avatar... I just want the cars and credits!

For some reason the EB Games catalogue says that you get the Apex 2 booklet, but the website says you don't

From the official playstation blog site, posted by the European Brand Manager:

All that remains the same – however what has changed is that the Apex II game guide will not now be included with the GT6: Anniversary Edition but will instead be available to all via Android and I-Tunes App Stores – good news I hope!

Just put down my 5 bucks at GameStop. Cheap bass turds don't even have a placeholder for it. Way to disrespect a game you have exclusive content for!!!

The Steelbook version is not for the US apparently. GS didn't have a sku for it.

Congrats Dave,
I'm a huge detractor of gamestop, but it looks like with this whole preordering GT6 thing gamestops has a huge lead on what I get for the bonus :/

If you pre-ordered before they announced the pre order bonuses, do you still get them?
As long you switch to the 15th anniversary edition at game stop. If you haven't done that yet your pre-order will be the basic box.

They told me that there was only one version in their computer at the store I went to.
