Good pics Scandisck, guessing that's on the tube?? Any idea which line? I'm in London all next week collecting for charity (with a bucket for loose change, not Direct debits!) so would be great to be able to stare at the arse of the GTR all day!

New firmware 2.17 is up for all PS3 users (description: "the operating stability of some online PS3 titles has been improved.") - and there is hint it's needed fot playing GT5(thanx Tiduz from Neogaf):

That doesn't surprise me too much, but thanks for the heads up! Isn't 2.17 the BIG update that was meant to be scheduled for release in April?? Just wondering as that was rumoured to be featuring ingame XMB, an overhaul of PS Store and potentially an open Home Beta called "Flat". Any firm info on the potential content of the update would be wicked!

I've just updated to the new firmware. On first look I can't see anything new.

Not a word about it on official documents. But, since many of the new pics resembles PhotoMode-like pictures something could be going on. But until being official, this is 100% in territory of roumors. However, retailers sometimes knows things not passed-away in PR statemensts, so maybe there is something inhere.

Update is out now, sorry if people have already posted this info....it's a LOOOONG thread LOL the update is just a bug fix for online features, no other features, looks like stuff for the GT5p has been stuck in there? anyone with Home Beta fancy checking there in home game start thingie and letting us know if thats been activated with the patch? And no the in game XMB isn't in this update just online bug fixes.

Who do you 'collect' for? I might pop along at some point if it is going on this weekend... those of us with the JP version already will have a massive advantage over every one else

I'm going to be collecting for several different charities in in London from monday 17th - Thursday 20th.
Monday: Waterloo Station Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund
Tuesday: Somewhere in london! Anthony Nolan Trust
Wednesday: Canary Wharf Tube (£££ hopefully!) Meningitis Research Foundation
Thursday (hopefully for the GT5P Championships as a break from collecting at lunch!!) Oxford Circus Tube Meningitis Research Foundation
These events go together to form one MASSIVE student RAG fundraising event with students from all over the UK collecting for good causes. I had meningitis and it's EVIL, so anything that can be done to stop it is worth it totally!
I'll be dressed as Mario (with real 'tasche), Mr Incredible and potentially others or wearing a real afro and a charity tshirt! Come chat if you see me!

Yeah, I think the Pikes Peak Hill Climb was the only real-life event in all their rally stuff.
Honestly if they gave up on rally I would be happy just playing DiRT for my rally fix.
I doubt they will suddenly stop doing that after it was in past games. Although it may not be in Prologue.
