Anyway I am downloading the Prey demo at the moment on GameSpot, as soon as I play it I tell you lot what I think of it? While posting up screens.

Why not just wait until you get the demo and get the screenshots?
Where is the explanation about what the game actually is?

With threads like this, i'm not surprised you got suspended.

Review of the story

Prey tells the story of Tommy, a Cherokee garage mechanic stuck on a reservation going nowhere. His life changes when an otherworldly crisis forces him to awaken spiritual powers from his long-forgotten birthright. Abducted along with his people to a menacing mothership orbiting Earth, he sets out to save himself and his girlfriend and eventually his planet.
Prey is serious, dark story, based on authentic Cherokee mythology. Themes of sacrifice, love and responsibility are explored and the story dives into emotional territory not yet explored by similar games.
In Prey, gamers enter an unpredictable world where nothing can be taken for granted. Most of the game takes place within a living ship, a giant entity that can sense and react to Tommy's presence.
Prey makes use of Joseph's Campbell's renowned story structure, "The Hero's Journey," for guiding the main character arc. Campbell's extensive work on mythological story progression was made famous when George Lucas used it for Luke Skywalker's story arc in the original Star Wars.

Either GameSpot or FilePlanet, but the free GameSpot servers may be suffering high bandwidth problems at the moment. But I am downloading from the total access member servers on GameSpot.

It is on download on GameSpot to total access members, while the download is available to non-total access members via Download.com's servers.

But GameSpot are providing the demo too Download.com.

I will have to DL this demo for sure. I have been wanting this game since it was first mentioned. I havent seen any game out ever that looks like this one. ANy other games you know of let you just walk up walls and onto the ceiling. Looks so awesome. :sly: I will try to DL the demo if I get a chance this weekend.
Dont forget to view post 11 in here to see tons of videos.

Here's some screens i took:

This game looks really amazing

There's some really cool stuff you can do as well, like walking on ceilings.

El Gigante thanks for posting those. Your right that looks even better than any of the videos I have seen. I really like the one with the planet outside the window.
Yup walking on the walls and ceilings is the selling point of this game that sets it apart from all the other FPS.

Y/W :)

It really does look great, and it runs so smoothly as well. That's one of the things that really annoys me about F.E.A.R, it runs terribly, even though it doesn't look as good as some of the other games out there :indiff:

I agree with everything you said about FEAR. That game was way overrated. Far Cry and Half life 2 look a lot better and they are a lot more fun. Cant wait to check this game out. Probably tomorrow at the latest.

Heather is DL the demo for me right now at home. I am at work. Later tonight I will play it and post some screen shots too.
Whoa I just realized your gun looks like a claw on the bottom.

I post my shots up this weekend in 3 flavours:

Via my PC
1280x1024
1024x768

And photos of it running on my HDTV via my PC, also I ran everything in high with all the settings up in 1024x768 with no slow down guys.

Ok I just played this for about 35 minutes. Holy crap this game gets confusing real quick but it is awesome. I am running 1280x1040 with no slow downs at all yet. I took over 80 screen shots but unfortunately they save as TGA files. So I have to open each one up and save it as a .jpg. Then re-open it and save as a .jpg again. Real pain in the butt! Anyway I can change what the "print screen" button saves as?
Everything in this game gets effected. You can change the songs on the jukebox and even change the volume. YOu can play any of the arcade games. I really like how the blood cakes up onto the pipe wrench. This is a very impressive game so far. I cant wait to try the multiplayer. This is a must buy for sure. 👍 👍
PICS MOVED TO POST 49.

Nice screens. I know what you mean, it runs beautifully even on 1280x1024!

Pretty annoying how it saves screens as TGAs, hopefully there'll be a way to change that in the full version. I just completed the demo tonight, it was a lot of fun and gets really weird towards the end

My favourite parts are all those weird portals, they're awesome. Some really innovative stuff in this game 👍

My favorite part was the rooms with the gravity switches.

Mess around with them enough and he'll puke all over himself.

I spent about half a minute chasing myself for fun through a few portals, lol, kinda neat.

Freezing people is the win. Getting sniped by the AI enemies = not the win.

Looks like his eagerness to create the thread early so that he could be the first to post screenshots backfired.

How big is the download?
