It's one of those cars that seems impossible to recover if it goes off the rails at all. And it's easy to go off the rails, twitchy and loose would be an ok assessment.

I have to disagree. I driven the 488 GTB a few times over the week and I'm amazed how planted and controllable it is.

I had problems with the 488 as well at the beginning - I would constantly lose the rear and never get it back in control.
What I did was stop being stubborn and drive it with the TC on, decreasing its level with each lap. After a few laps, I was finally driving it OK and without the TC.
But it definitely wasn't a straightforward experience.
Also, the 458 is tons more fun. ;)

On topic, today I experienced a lot of the missed downshifts problem you're discussing here, using the GT4 Clubsport.

Really 🤬 annoying!

They need to fix damage display, in an online race tonight i was smashed into at the start and the damage display stayed stuck on for the whole race which meant i had 1 of 3 options during the race

Option 1. Turn HUD completely off to avoid stutter when TC and ABS activate thus ruining each corner and also not being able to monitor my tyres.

Option 2. Keep HUD on and deliberately crash so it debugs the damage display.

Option 3. Quit the bloody race.

I chose option 1. But this should be a priority by Kunos as you could say It's game breaking to a point, it happens often and even if it doesn't stay stuck on it still stutter for the short time It's on.

Don't mash the brakes. Too much ABS will give you these problems.

Open a support ticket too!

Except I wasn't mashing the brakes.

In fact, I did some laps with the ABS turned off (to find out if it solved the problem - which it did) only to realise that the pressure I was applying was never enough to lock the wheels.

In short: I understand that the problem is related to the ABS, but this isn't a user problem. It's a bug.

Just two stereo speakers.
Had a brief session using 5.1 as opposed to 2 channel, the results were pretty much the same to be honest. Possible slight improvement, but negligible really. It seems the audio adjustments for 1.09 have somehow muted the turbo sound effects [well certainly on the cars in the Japanese pack anyway]. I will check some other cars, but so far it seems another adjustment is needed to raise the turbo sound effects in the audio mix.

I am only referring to PS4 here, not sure if this has also affected PC and Xbox. Maybe someone could test and confirm?

Interestingly, I also noticed that when I first loaded the game, the menu music was coming out of all 5 speakers [I listened to each speaker individually]. After playing and then going back into the menu, the music was then playing through the right channel speakers only. Very strange.

How do I raise this on the official forum, is there a specific contact address?

I feel that way about it up to 8 or 9/10, and then boom, I'm breaking tires loose in a 5th gear sweeper. I think it's the torque. I'll try a higher TC setting (was already using 1!)

Most of my offs on Nur tourist trackday last night coincided with missed shifts. :irked: Wouldn't be so bad if AC referees didn't feel so strongly that putting a couple of tires into the weeds on the outside of a turn should result in a binned lap time.

I had this too. The damage that caused it to stick happened in the pit area of Nur tourist.

Shame it wasn't fixed in the last minor update. It'll be late January at least now...

Tyre temps online & offline:
The first times i did GT3/GT2 races online i always chose racing mediums for tracks like Silverstone, Mugello & Barcelona as softs got overheated in half a lap in offline, but in online there was no issues doing a full 10lap race at Silverstone or Barcelona on racing softs and temperatures stayed at optimal (green?) level or maybe just a bit above on last laps.
Now went back offline to do MP4-12C GT3 Barcelona hotlap challenge with setup i saved from online (1:50.xxx with extra fuel) to beat gold 1:49.000, but with same compound i couldn't do better than 1:53.xxx because on 1st lap the 3rd corner was already heating left tyres at ~100°C.
Quite odd that you can do full race with soft compound online, but in offline one step lower compound is better for one hotlap.

Still have to test my solid "all weather" C7R GT2 setup offline on both medium & softs at Mugello. In offline mediums shouldn't stay cold for the most of 10laps race & softs should have more than only left front tyre overheated.

Tyre temps online & offline:
I noticed this as well. 458 GT2 offline at Mugello, super softs were glowing red after half a lap. Softs weren't a whole lot better. Online, I could do a whole race on softs without having to let up too much. I didn't mess with SS. Unfortunately I failed to note the track/ambient temps between on and offline - that should be the variable that's causing this. I might have had track temp set high offline.

I also ran into what I will call a bug. In Nords Tourist, I was forcibly disconnected for driving the wrong direction too often. Unfortunately, this is unavoidable depending on which "pit" location you have. The pits are that little parking lot, and sometimes the game says you're going the wrong way even before you start to move! Driving to the gate was the only time I went the wrong way.
