When I take a picture, it acknowledges that I have pressed "Take Photo" and then proceeds to take the photo. However, it keeps clicking and doesn't show the menu as it should.

Is anybody else experiencing this?

Yep.

If it's causing you to get stuck in photo mode, just keep pressing back quickly and it should take you out of it.

Man the qualify skip bug has been crippling my career playthrough so I'm happy to see that @IanBell is hoping to fix it up.

I'd love to have the time to sit and wait for a 30 minute qualy to end once I set my time but unfortunately not. :(

Yes this is annoying! And also posting a time then skipping and the AI somehow manage to find 4 seconds...13seconds at one qualy!

Had a massive FPS drop on Sakitto in the rain:

(though I was running it in 4K with pretty much all settings maxed, while recording the gameplay... so that may have played a part in it :P)

Hi guys,

I appreciate SMS is reading this and will fix the bugs, however, considered the release of PC and all the glitches identified back then, it is a shame history repeats. Don't know who's to blame here, but definitely would have preferred a playable game day one than winter conditions which are non-sense for most of the events. That being said here is my contribution.

I play on PS4 , Dualshock. I have played most (good) racing games released since 20 years. Didn't touch the difficulty slides.

Career Mode, is sorta similar to PC when it was released. Very demanding skills-wise but very frustrating more often than necessary because of bugs.

Ginetta GT5 championship. As others said, the qualifying runs does not match the level of the race. (How is that even possible?) Anyway it does not matter as before the first corner of the race you can overtake about 10 cars in most races. On some tracks it's easy to very easy to win (Donington, Oulton), on others it's very very hard (Snetterton) . On some tracks completing a flying lap without a mistake is hazardeous (Snetterton left turn after the straight is a mystery to me). On this championship I really enjoyed one race, Silverstone with the rain coming after 1 lap, that was insanely hard to stay on track but managed to finish second (AI was more handicaped by the rain than I was )

Second championship: Formula C
Brand hatch: First turn is impossible, as it was in PC 1. Almost impossible to pass as fast as AI. Started raining and it became impossible to drive, AI didn't seem bothered.
Brno : as in PC 1 , some sectors here are just undrivable. All the right turns that go downhill in Sector 2 we have to brake more than should be needed otherwise we lose the car. At the start, most AI cars go wide in the mud at the first turn, for absolutely no reason, and almost stops in turn 2.

Have to say I tried to correct the setup to fix the oversteer issues, but nothing works really well. The help of the engineer is limited. By the way the setup savings is terrible, and just does not work at the moment. I save setups that can't be found again after. I don't know if what I'm changing actually impact anything.

To sum up:
- Huge liftoff oversteer makes impossible turns that requires to brake or lift mid-turn
- Downhill turns are exagerated. Any turn that goes downhill is a nightmare in this game
- To many penalties for us, when in the same time the AI doesn't get anything, or doesnt have to give back a position
- In Formula C, the AI does not race the same cars, it's obvious. Trajectories, Speed in corners all differ.
- Tire tempatures looked fine in these races, but is it adequately reflected in game? Even when tires and brakes are hot we lock the tires if we press the braking button at 75%.
- In qualifying one mistake cancels not only the current lap, but also the next lap, no matter what.

I changed the sensitivity of the gamepad big time to be as smooth as possible on the throttle but still.

So should we leave the career mode aside for the moment? focus on multi where all drivers face the same issues?

Multi and more general issues:
- Exiting the multi after qualifying without will to do it is sooo easy
- Mute all drivers option, please...
- Menus loading, it's getting longer and longer every day now.
- Filtering the sessions in multi is impossible, no button assigned to filter per columns! Can't filter by category

Same as in PC, great potential, but too many weaknesses to decently release it. I'm sorry to say that but I'm very surprised the same problems from PC are still in PC2.

At one community event, Knockhill in Caterham, I managed 1:51 when the first one was 1:49. I believe I was number 1 or 2 with a gamepad. Is 2 seconds the gap between wheels and gamepad?

Cheers

on PC. How do I turn off auto clutch? no matter what gameplay option i have or button i press it never goes off. Please help

There are severe game-ruining bugs on the PS4. Many could be fixed if only they actually tested it. I know they haven't because some of the bugs are immediate and obvious. I wonder if when the testing was outsourced to Sony, if they actually tested it at all. In ANY capacity. Literally a monkey or even procedural scripting (I.e. a computer with an IQ of 1) could pick up on these issues.

The main ones for me are the oversteer/steering bug and the lack of FFB on the G29. These simply stop you playing.

I've been making a sad collection on my YT channel. I find I'm collecting evidence of several bugs PER SESSION! For the non-believers ( ;) ) you may want to have a look at some at these for others to see what we're all talking about:- https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJ5JF0YC93pBwXe-eBfEvew

I was just out in practice on Nurburgring, winter, heavy snow accelerated time progression.
There did not seem to be much if any build up of snow on the track
The car I was driving Mercedes WRX car had no headlights and no brake lights though you could see it glow red in the rear view mirror when you stepped on the brake if you switch to chase view the red was coming from no where. The brake lights did not light up at all but the snow behind them had some red glow.

Could not drive it in cockpit view with the lights turned on as the dash display was bright and headlights did not do anything making it even harder to see the road ahead.
I was under the impression that rally cars usually had really good headlights. Not this one.

Another thing I have noticed is that the brakes are a bit erratic on at least some of the cars. One of the more odd things I have saw is that if you are braking moderately hard for a corner and turn the wheel even slightly the tires begin to squeal and you loose both steering and stopping power. I have also noticed that at times in some cars you have to really get on the brakes to get it to slow down and other times the wheels will lock under much less braking pressure. [and no it is not a case of overheated brakes] These combined with the infernal downshift protection on some cars result in a lot of blown corners and make the game more aggravating than fun.

The PC version of this game seems to be quite a bit buggier than the PC version of PCars 1 was upon release.

Yeah I think I noticed this this morning. I have a lights button mapped but it didn't seem to do anything. In PCARS 1 I used to use the GT3 headlights in the daytime to light up the braking countdown markers e.g. at Monza on the run to Parabolica, but in PCARS 2 this didn't seem to work. I'm sure my light weren't illuminating.

That being said minor issues I've encountered are:

  • Trophies not triggering - for me Snap snap snap and winter soldier haven't triggered. Don't know if there are others as those two are the only ones I've tried to get intentionally.

In regards to the winter solder one. It seems to happen if the season isn't set to spring or summer. When set to autumn or winter the trophy will not trigger. Not sure why snap snap snap didn't trigger...might be because I used photo mode in a saved replay of an online race. Will try another method tonight and see if I can get the trophy to trigger

sadly i got the no pit crew version of pcars2 LOL :banghead:
Out of curiosity did you request a pitstop? I haven't had this issue (on PC) but I always request a pitstop, so I thought that might help. Hopefully that's all it is.

I requested the pit twice (once in 2 different races), was automatic pit, went inside and car kept driving to the other side! As if it's a go through penalty!

It could be a bug, did you get a message that said your team mate was occupying the pit (or something)?

i did they don't appear for the ai cars ether :banghead:
The only other thing I could suggest is to go to your options and under the performance section go to pit crew detail and choose your option. I'm on PC so don't know if this is possible on console. Good luck.

Issue with HUD Editing having no actual effect

Environment - PS4 Pro with 2160p and HDR via HDMI. Logitech G920 emulating a G29 via DriveHub. Software level V01.00.0842

I like to be able to read the "split" times at the end of track sectors. The text, especially the green text (I like to see green!), is unreadable against most blue skies, so I moved that HUD element to the bottom of the screen, hoping for good contrast. However, when driving, it's back up against the sky. I'd even be happy with a change of text color, or an option for a solid box which guarantees contrast

I just want to be able to read the numbers

Yes the grey box background doesn't make the numbers easy to read at all. I also find the deltas kind of pointless as you don't get to see your laptime unless you enable the other HUD element with the laptimes on it. I don't want that on screen all the time yet I do want to know the time of the lap I just completed...

All of it. Any adjustments I make. I usually only do FOV and seat up/down.

Also, the clutch fix to turn it off in the options menu didn't change a thing.

Is the FOV reverting to default? I'm sure mine has stayed where I set it, but definitely have had seat position issues. Another irritation.

I don't care about any of them as long as the game loads and moves around the UI smoothly. After that they can take their sweet time.
