Hi guys,
I appreciate SMS is reading this and will fix the bugs, however, considered the release of PC and all the glitches identified back then, it is a shame history repeats. Don't know who's to blame here, but definitely would have preferred a playable game day one than winter conditions which are non-sense for most of the events. That being said here is my contribution.
I play on PS4 , Dualshock. I have played most (good) racing games released since 20 years. Didn't touch the difficulty slides.
Career Mode, is sorta similar to PC when it was released. Very demanding skills-wise but very frustrating more often than necessary because of bugs.
Ginetta GT5 championship. As others said, the qualifying runs does not match the level of the race. (How is that even possible?) Anyway it does not matter as before the first corner of the race you can overtake about 10 cars in most races. On some tracks it's easy to very easy to win (Donington, Oulton), on others it's very very hard (Snetterton) . On some tracks completing a flying lap without a mistake is hazardeous (Snetterton left turn after the straight is a mystery to me). On this championship I really enjoyed one race, Silverstone with the rain coming after 1 lap, that was insanely hard to stay on track but managed to finish second (AI was more handicaped by the rain than I was )
Second championship: Formula C
Brand hatch: First turn is impossible, as it was in PC 1. Almost impossible to pass as fast as AI. Started raining and it became impossible to drive, AI didn't seem bothered.
Brno : as in PC 1 , some sectors here are just undrivable. All the right turns that go downhill in Sector 2 we have to brake more than should be needed otherwise we lose the car. At the start, most AI cars go wide in the mud at the first turn, for absolutely no reason, and almost stops in turn 2.
Have to say I tried to correct the setup to fix the oversteer issues, but nothing works really well. The help of the engineer is limited. By the way the setup savings is terrible, and just does not work at the moment. I save setups that can't be found again after. I don't know if what I'm changing actually impact anything.
To sum up:
- Huge liftoff oversteer makes impossible turns that requires to brake or lift mid-turn
- Downhill turns are exagerated. Any turn that goes downhill is a nightmare in this game
- To many penalties for us, when in the same time the AI doesn't get anything, or doesnt have to give back a position
- In Formula C, the AI does not race the same cars, it's obvious. Trajectories, Speed in corners all differ.
- Tire tempatures looked fine in these races, but is it adequately reflected in game? Even when tires and brakes are hot we lock the tires if we press the braking button at 75%.
- In qualifying one mistake cancels not only the current lap, but also the next lap, no matter what.
I changed the sensitivity of the gamepad big time to be as smooth as possible on the throttle but still.
So should we leave the career mode aside for the moment? focus on multi where all drivers face the same issues?
Multi and more general issues:
- Exiting the multi after qualifying without will to do it is sooo easy
- Mute all drivers option, please...
- Menus loading, it's getting longer and longer every day now.
- Filtering the sessions in multi is impossible, no button assigned to filter per columns! Can't filter by category
Same as in PC, great potential, but too many weaknesses to decently release it. I'm sorry to say that but I'm very surprised the same problems from PC are still in PC2.
At one community event, Knockhill in Caterham, I managed 1:51 when the first one was 1:49. I believe I was number 1 or 2 with a gamepad. Is 2 seconds the gap between wheels and gamepad?
Cheers
