If you cycle the views, does the helmet show again when you get to Helmet Cam?
No cycling through doesn't bring back helmet cam. Once it's gone it's gone, and not always there to begin with.

Fastest lap times only get stored in Time Trial mode.
Ok - don't see why Private Test session times wouldn't be saved, but if that's how it's meant to be I can live with it.

Main issue is the car setup saves (see post #99 in this thread). It pretty much destroys Career Mode. The whole car setup save mechanism needs to be re-thought/reimplemented as it's pretty much unusable if you want to race and a waste of time working on a setup that you can't access, or the game won't let you save. There are a few other people reporting similar issues with this.

Thanks :-)

Could you give more details? What car(s), what tyre(s), what do you see in the telemetry HUD?
BTW there's a known issue with tyre heating for the Formula Rookie and Formula C cars.

What settings do you mean? Are you sure you're asking the game to save, and you're not pushing the button to back out of the screen?

Thanks for you re answer.
Indeed with FR and Formula C the spinning almost me a heart attack lol. But with my controller I spinned with this 3 véhicules very often
BMW M3 groupe A
Mercedes 190E DTM
And Clio Cup (for this one I have issue for warming my tyres too)

For the saving . No I select save but in race the settings is not working. I have to quit and reload then do my settings again.

PS4 Pro User : I would like to love PC 2 because it would be a great game, but too many bugs. i feel disapointed and disgusted by this game. Is it a BETA ?

- Starting the Game, all Videos (intro) look washed out on PS4, but not on PC.
- Loading in the menu are so longs (even when you want to choose a car).

Private test and Quick Race :

- Setup of the current date is changing each time i choose a new track.
- Graphics in race are aliased ,shadows and textures clipping. trees suddenly appearing
- Crews in the pits are disappearing sometimes.
- Tires display issues (green in the pit suddenly turning blue)
- visual damage are not reset when restarting a race.

Rouen Les Essarts :

- the car strikes against the security barrier on leaving the pits

Replays :

- Shadows display issue (sparkle)
- When race is too long, replay doesn't start, and make the game crashing.
- visual damage are not reset during the replay :
i did a 20 min race with a beautiful new car and i crashed. when i launched the replay from the start of the race, my car was damaged

ETC..................................... List is too much long.

sorry for my bad English as i'm french :)

The biggest bug I encountered is Visual Damage not refreshing... This is sometimes very annoying. Especially when you trash your windshield...
You need to go back to menu and start the race all over again. I hope SMS will fix it soon.

Other than this game feels and plays great on PS4 Standard. I am very satisfied

O and AI should have some tweaking. The First corner problem is sometimes annoying.

Don't know if anyone else has had this problem. in a private lobby with a few friends last night and only the host has a driving line show up while racing, everyone else has it switched on in the settings but still not showing up

Hello all,

I am not sure if this is a bug or just a characteristic of the setups not saving _ i am in the Indy COA community challenge and whilst I cannot save my setup (known bug?) I decided to drive with the default setup - the issue is that the car feels like it is changing set up every other lap - one lap I am stable through the corner, the next the car snaps into oversteer mid corner without any encouragement or the car understeers the lap after, again with little change in pace or line- is anyone else experiencing this?

I am not pushing at this stage, just going for consistent laptimes to feel the car.

Just had an online race where everyone else was suffering from rain and puddles but for me it was like driving on a dry track all the time. 10 lap race and rain started at lap 2. Saw the rain but the track surface staid dry all the time. Ended up lapping everyone else twice..

Anyone had the frame rate drop to about 30fps? It’s happened twice to me on and off line. The only way to fix it is to leave the lobby or off line session and re enter. It’s very nociable makes it look like drive club.
I’m playing on PS PRO with a 4K HDR TV.

PC user. During qualifying, I have been on pole by an interval of 5 seconds, after allowing enough time for AI to set all their laps. If I "skip to end of session", even with one minute remaining, the AI qualifying times suddenly jump 5-10 seconds faster than my time, putting me at the back of the grid.

Earlier I laid down a good time and went to get some groceries while the qualifying ran and I got my pole. Every single other time that I skipped to the end I had my issue with an impossible quali time from all AI drivers.

It would be "ok" for now except changing the race length does not change the qualifying length and I don't want to sit around waiting for 25 minutes for a 10 minute race if I'm done my hot lap. It makes the career mode almost unplayable.

A friend on PS4 reported the same during practice sessions.

Yup, same issue on PS4. Happen to me during the 30 minute practice session. Didn't make that mistake during qualification though, ran the full 15 minutes.

I have found a serious grip issue with the Clio. In the dry, there is very little to no grip on the rear tyres. Especially when the tyres are cold - which I sort of understand but once warmed through I still feel like I am driving a drift car. This caused me to come last in my 1st 2 races in the calendar.

However, in the wet, they act as they should. A little looseness but generally grip as wet weather tyres should grip. If anything, I think they got the 2 tyres mixed up grip-wise.

The Ginetta jnr I drove was spot on so seems to affect the Clio only.

No other real issues with the game apart from when doing time trials, I seem to lose any settings. (ABS, traction control etc... all get turned off despite being on in the main menu).

Am loving the game.

(PS4 standard).

First off. I wanna say thanks to the Slightly mad team. I absolutely love project cars 2. And im really enjoying the hell out of it. So thanks guys. I've always loved the the original project cars title too. I still upload videos of the original game to YouTube regularly.

No bugs for me except for one pretty annoying one at Spa.
On PS4 standard model. 5 lap race at Spa. I was driving Ferrari GT3 against 5 A,I, opponents and just at the 4th lap near the finish line the force feedback violently ripped the wheel to the right, about 90 degrees, and planted me into the side wall, just as i was about to drive up the hill. Ending my race.
I was in front, so had to sit and watch as all the cars then flew past me. Replay shows no other car was near me or hit me. Time trial on my own and the feedback has ripped to the right near the start/finish line too. Like a jolt to the right hand side. Thrustmaster T300

Same for me !
This game is so great :)
I believe the bugs are known by the development team and the game was released that way with the goal of breaking the pirated copies. For me, believing that SMS has no ability to do things is meaningless.

edid: I who am just a humble and mere mortal know how to do things, now imagine a team that works for years and years together, super well trained and with a smart, gentle and singer boss.

I will agree that the set up save is a nightmare. At one point I was in the formula ford career then took a brake and when to race indy cars at Long Beach in a one off race then went back to my career and the gearing changed on the FF! The car had gearing set to the indy car power band, meaning all the revs were at redline in the FF and topped out at 90MPH lol.

It seems anytime I leave the career mode and come back the settings change or don't take the save. I'm really enjoying PCars2 over PC1, everything is pretty great in terms of predictable handling and improved AI. But the setup saving issues really need to be resolved.

Also, I'm not sure if this is a bug but in the Ginetta Jr's the gearing is somewhat fixed creating an issue where 2 gears need to be the same if you want to change any of them. Anyone else notice this? You can change the ratio's but they're a pre-set change's so to make the car faster on short tracks my gearing is such that 2nd and 3rd are the same.

Edit: has anyone also noticed the lack of grip / tire temp in the formula C? I dominated formula rookie but the "c" class car has zero grip no matter what I adjust...

If you have interest and time do a little test: choose a car of class RX and take a few turns, then choose another class, GTR for example, and a few laps. For me, the GTR car behaves just like the RX class car.

Oh and by the way, does anyone know why the sound on the ps4 is that low?! I have everything in Audio settings at 100% (except music)!

What is the sound output you are using, headphones, TV or individual speakers?

Some Kingston HyperX Cloud 2 headphones!

For comparison purposes, I use Assetto on half volume and it blows my ears with the awesome engine sounds! I had the volume on max in Pcars2 and can barely hear the cars! Well I can technically, but it's low!

try to do this: in the sound menu, last option, change the output and return to the same output as it was, for me, the sound improves.

There seem to be multiple bugs concerning the set ups, at least on PS4.
First of all, in private testing or custom races, you need to go to the tuning setup screen at least once to make sure the game loads the default or latest setup for a car.
Worse, in career mode sometimes the game seems to be looking in the wrong place for setups, and loads setups from wrong cars. I encountered that multiple times already, and it seems to happen when you take a break in a current series, turn off the game or system, and then come back to it.
For example I was racing in the LMP3 Pan-Asia Championship, saved two different setups for the car I was using – all good. The next day I wanted to resume the series, but my setups were gone, and in the tuning setup screen it said "Dallara …" – a car I wasn't using. Going into the private testing and selecting the Ginetta LMP3 I could see and select my setups, they're just not showing up in career mode as stated above.

Another frustrating thing, I'm not sure as this is working as intended or a bug. I love to race without a HUD, and on the straight cycle through the HUDs to see car/race information. I can not for the love of god get the timing widget (the one where you can also assign a button to cycle through different options) to behave in the way that it's visible on the normal and light HUD, but hidden when I turn off the HUD. It's either always there or never.

Otherwise the game is a lot of fun and I'm enjoying it :)

Has anyone mentioned the odd bright flash that occasionally happens in VR? It's like someone in the cockpit with you just took a photograph.
A fix for VR/helmet cam is coming for a bug where there is 1 frame rendered outside the car every now and then. Could be the same thing.

Just a thought, don't you think the official Project CARS 2 forums would be the best place to document bugs? I doubt that GTP would get the same attention as their official channels. Just saying...
We're trying to follow what's discussed/reported here, but for in-depth issue discussion we would prefer if you could hop over, yes :)

Here are some issues I have found on PS4 Pro with 4K and 10 bit HDR via HDMI. EDIT: Logitech G29. Software level V01.00.0842

@IanBell, I hope your team finds these observations useful

1. The Nordschleife has sections where the trackside has street curbing. I mean a vertical concrete strip along the track which is maybe 10-15 cms high. Hitting that with a wheel is sudden death. This happened at Fuchsrohre, right at the bottom of the hill. The concrete strip starts on the way down the hill on the right hand side. I'm none too sure that the real Nordschleife would have such a dangerous feature.

2. Photomode goes into a loop clicking the shutter when taking a photo. This occurs in a replay on the Nordschleife, with Drone camera. The only DS4 buttons which are operable are "Share" and "PS". The shutter sound goes off maybe once a second and won't stop. The photo(s) is/are not saved, have to force quit PC2 by pressing and holding PS. I have tried taking photos on this replay multiple times with the same failure. See

3. Photomode. Default shutter speed is 0.5 seconds! Really? What trackside photographer would put their camera away with the shutter speed set to half a second? Or even ever use such a slow exposure! Also, the default f-stop is 3. Again, that's not a likely setting choice for a spaorts photographer. I'd have it at f-8 (I'm beginning to think that default values in PC2 are being set simply to annoy. Like brake sensitivity.)

4. Photomode. Max f-stop on the camera is f-16 and max shutter speed is 1/997. Both should be higher like real cameras. And it should be easier/quicker to change shutter speeds. No camera in the real world has such small increments in shutter speed

5. The intro movie looks like it's overexposed and shot through a film of milk -

6. Photomode should have an autofocus capability. Or if it's there already, make it obvious how to use it

7. Having chosen a livery for a car, that livery should "stick". For example, I chose the white with red stripe option for the Ford Mustang 2+2 Fastback, but when I press triangle to go to the Showroom, the Mustang is all red. Incidentally, the rendering of this car is really poor. It's about the same quality as GT5's "Standard" cars.

8. While I realize that it's not a great idea to cause my car to become inverted or lie on its side on the track, I would like some hint at how to get it back on its feet rather than force quitting PC2 via the PS button in sheer frustration.

9. The HUD should be editable from the main "Options" menu, rather than buried inside an event. If you want to bury it in an event, then make it editable with any wheel.

10. Default controller/wheel/etc values should be set to realistic numbers. I took the above Ford Mustang onto Big Willow, since I figured those long sweeping turns should be easy to steer through with my G29. That expectation was dashed on the first corner. I had to spin the wheel madly to get around it. It was as though I was trying to negotiate a hairpin bend in one of those old sedans which had six turns lock-to-lock. There was no way I could turn the wheel fast enough to stay on track at say 60 mph/100 kph. Oh, and just looking at the brake pedal would lock everything up and send me off the track. I'm not expecting "perfection" straight out of the box, but I do expect it to be "usable". I know you had people test this, @IanBell, so why not include some real person's settings as a default? This is the first time I've played a racing game where my wheel is unusable until I have dug through menus and fiddled around blindly.

11. The "HDR Calibration" provides the instruction "Match the brightness of these two squares". The slider is all the way to the right, and therefore I can only see one square. This is another slightly mad default. If I move the slider all the way to the left, then I can see two squares. They match when the slider is less than 15% of the way from the left. Hence the default should be "all the way to the left". Also, it'd help if the instruction read "Match the brightness of the inner and outer squares". Since I only saw one square, I went on a hunt to find out what was wrong with my HDR, wasting a whole lot of time. Finally, since the squares "match" over about 85% of the slider operational zone, is any of such positions optimal? It's not clear.

12. I want to be able to tweak my wheel settings when using my DS4, even if my wheel is not currently connected. The help text says "Select the type of controller that you are using". Sadly, the only option right now is "Wireless Controller Default"

13. In the "Affinity" menu, I see three tracks listed, sorted by "miles driven". I know for a fact that I have driven two laps on the Nordschleife (over 25 miles), and that this is more miles than the 9.01 miles it credits me for on the Texas Motor Speedway. However, Nordschleife is not listed as one of my "favourite locations"

14. I set up a "custom race" (also known in the game as "custom event"), using the above Mustang on the Brands Hatch Indy circuit. On re-entering the game, I find it has remembered the track and number of laps, but re-assigned me to a McLaren!

15. Photomode again. I question the actual shutter speed. I'm looking at my car (heading off-track!) crossing a painted line on the tarmac at an angle of about 45 degrees. Aperture is f-16, shutter speed is 1/5s. The car is traveling at maybe 30 mph. Both car and painted line are fairly sharp, especially the car. My guess is that in 1/5 of a second, the car should be covering 6 to 9 feet, so the line should be seriously blurred rather than almost totally sharp. In addition, when I take the Drone cam inside the car and examine the speedometer, it's showing zero.

16. Photomode. Drone camera movements have an annoying inertia which makes it hard to fine-tune the camera position. I understand that the designer probably wants me to feel like I'm flying a drone, but I'm a photographer, not a pilot. I want my drone to be able to stop as soon as I let go of the stalk

17. Photomode. It seems that "sometimes", the Drone camera has autofocus, at least up to the point in time that I override the Focus Distance. From then on, autofocus is dead. There needs to be a way to revive it

18. Photomode. I complained above about the shutter speed default of half a second. I just discovered that if I switch to Trackside camera and immediately back to Drone, the shutter speed has become 1/600th. The Trackside defaults to 1/50th with a minimum of 1/5th. The cockpit Camera defaults to 1/500th

19. I came out of Photomode and the Play/Pause button was showing "Pause", which indicated that the car was moving. It wasn't. Pressing on this button with the PS4 "X" button, changed it to Play, but no movement. Another press and we are back to Pause, but no movement. It looked like things are locked up, but I found a workaround. Click on the fast reverse button followed by play, and things got moving again.

Damn, I accidentally hit the shutter button and I'm back to problem number 2. That's enough for now. I'm going to reboot and try to find a combo of car + game settings that is drivable.

I've had this issue as well. It's interesting your example is from trying to take a photo from a height; once I was trying to take a photo of the Formula X at Austin from directly above the car, and it would freeze every time, but taking photos at car level worked fine.

I don't need to force quit when this happens, try just pressing back really quickly, this gets me back to the pause menu after a few seconds. When you go back into photo mode, the drone camera for some reason is locked in position, but taking one photo unsticks it again.

1. Driving Line at Mt Panorama. The Driving Line seems to be absent at Griffins, McPhillamy, Skyline and Murrays. Yet it sometimes appears where it is inappropriate, such as on the way up Mountain Straight, especially approaching the hump.

2. Having the split times displayed against the lightness of the sky makes them unreadable. This is the same mistake that Turn 10 made with Forza, when they shifted the split times from low down to high up. (Another slightly mad default). In addition, once I've tailored the HUD the way I'd like it, I want it to stay that way, especially because the HUD is not tailorable using my wheel
