I counted all the cars in the official website, so far 170 cars are revealed, but 41 from the original game have gotten the axe and are not returning. These cars are:

... the atom mugen and the Caterham 7 were the only road cars I could drive without sliding into walls all the time:banghead:

Your list is a little disingenuous when some of those cars have simply been updated to their latest versions. There would be no point, for example, having the 2013 and 2015 Audi R8.

Gumpert of course would have been very difficult to include, since the company went out of business whilst pCARS1 was in development :embarrassed:

With the 24 missing spaces, the car list might be 194 cars (186 at launch).

TS040, GT86 and GT86 GT4 still need to officially announced, that's why they're not in (yet).

You do realize with the exception of Ferrari and lambo all cars are revealed already. It's 190 cars

Are you including the pre-order bonus cars in your count? Both the Japanese Car Pack adn the Motorsports pack that is Season Pass exclusive?

I'm only asking for clarity, as I have seen several different counts, some with and some without the bonus packs.

You know what I may have to go back and count actually.

I can only publicly go by what's on the cars announcement page. Of course, being in WMD2, I know the full car list so, I know exactly what's missing from that page right now. I haven't looked at the 'speculation' list in a long while so I honestly don't know how close to the final list you folks have got :embarrassed:. I do know that the full, complete, list is fantastic. That there are going to be - by SMS' admission - at least another 32 cars to come, well, it's hard to think that there won't be at least one car that everybody can enjoy driving :)

Good job breaking it down. I was actually thinking about the cars that were removed.

You do realize with the exception of Ferrari and lambo all cars are revealed already. It's 190 cars

If we know that Ferrari and Lamborghini are in the game why aren't they in the official listing on the site? You think they're any surprises?

So in other words there are more cars then we thought that are definitely unknown.

That's what I'm beginning to wonder myself.

We know Ferrari and Lambo are in, as we have seen some of them already. They just haven't been "Officially Announced" yet.

For example we have already seen the 488 GT3 in Scuderia Corsa colors as well as the Lmborghini Huracan Super Trofeo (GT3?) not to mention a few road cars from both already as well.

There should be four: 1 GTO, 1 Vintage Prototype, 1 Road and 1 Trackday (even if I've seen good guesses for 2 of them: Toyota Celica GTO and Ferrari 330 P4). Please, correct me if I'm wrong.
.
Another good breakdown. Started to feel like an detective solving a case.

A gold star to you for this list. I wondered about the missing PCars vehicles but was too lazy to do the work, many thanks to you for this list.

I'm really upset that these cars aren't coming back

-Aston Martin LMP1
-Caterham Classic
-Formula Gulf

If they got rid of the karts but the track list reveal showed kart tracks, what are we getting?

I assume you mean for a fair few of the GT3s like the Aston Martin and the Bentley? Maybe, those manufacturers didn't want those cars in game for one reason or another?
Yes. Any car that was has a road version basically. It seems odd for manufacturers to not want road versions in the game. I don't recall stuff like that happening for other racing games. I don't think such is the case honestly, I think it has more to do with SMS. What logical reason would Aston Martin have for saying no to adding the road version of the Vantage into the game as well, when SMS already has licensed to the Aston Martin and Vantage names?

SMS's focus is on racing models primarily, which is understandable to an extent given AC's tagline, but without the road equivalents SMS alienates people that prefer racing road models and pushing them to their limits too. Having both balances out the car list and makes the game more attractable and enjoyable to a wider audience.

Licensing for PC1 is separate to PC2.

Also Aston Martin Racing is a different license to Aston Martin.

Count me in as being concerned for the Caterham Classic. The 620 R's 310hp is excessive.
The R500 was excessive for me in PC1. I spun around once and called it quits. The Escort is more my speed. :)

I am racing the Alpine Lmp2 car in pcars1 in career mode at the moment, and for once I am just as competitive in the wet as I am in the dry at 100% Ai. This has not happened in my pcars1 journey before so I am a bit sad it isn't in pcars2.

Still, with the new physics model perhaps there will be plenty more opportunity to be competitive in both wet and dry.

Apologies if this has already been raised, but while doing my spreadsheets of the classic content in Project Cars 2 (which I need for my Classic League "Sick's Race Room") I noticed that the Ford Escort RS1600 (Mark One) appears three times on the SMS list:

1. Vintage Touring
2. Road
3. Vintage Rally Cross

Is this correct or just an error? I was just expecting two versions, not three. NB the picture under "Road" shows a version with flared arches, which looks like the race version, not the standard road car. @jake2013guy might know the answer to this one!

If there are three perhaps the road version has the same performance as the Mustang and 2002 Turbo and the race version has the same performance as the 2002 SW and AMG 6.8 - in PC1 the RS1600 was effectively marooned in a class of one as it's performance fell between those two camps.

Below, an extract from my classic content spreadsheet.

It's correct. There are 3 versions. Can't see the differences from the picture alone but I'm sure there are at least technically.

Answered your own question, it's a racing game created by people wanting to race race cars. It's fresh considering how much new racing metal isn't in games anymore.
I'm aware that I answered my own question. I wrote that with such awareness in mind. ;)

Forza and GT cater to those road car fans.
Not on non-windows 10 PC's they don't. :irked:

Not if you want better physics, a superior list of tracks, dynamic weather and time-of-day and seasons, LiveTrack 3.0, etc...

I'm all for providing motorsports fans with all the new and historic racing metal they want. Please don't pretend road car fans have an alternative with everything PCARS offers that Forza and GT don't. Those of us who want a fleshed-out hardcore simulator with our favorite road cars are lost in the middle.

Road cars; realistic physics and simulation features; a complete game. Pick two. That's all we've got. That's why people ask for road cars for PCARS.
