I have some doubt on several points.

AI
- I hope a real hard work in AI, because many players was disappointed to AI in Pcars1. At this moment, I'm not convinced at all about a better AI in Pcars2. Specially when human don't follow help line, like AI cars.

Track - i hope a more realistic time in each track, even in gamepad (ex: 3:52 in GT3 at Le Mans).
You doubt the AI in the original Project CARS? It was the best AI I have ever encountered in a racing game. And I am not alone in this sentiment. Was it perfect AI? Nah, but, again, probably the best ever.

As for realistic Track Times, wouldn't that be more dependent on your skill than an external factor? Or were the times you were setting faster than real life?

Times were faster in pCars 1 than real life for the most part.

Hurry up folks.

I'll be interested to see what the general public comes up with for questions. Those of us here have pretty much asked everything we know to...and many, if not most, of the questions have been answered.

I have a question or two: what kind of options do we have for custom race? Is "Any", as in any car, or random an option you can pick for grid variety? Can you ask the game to pick classes randomly as well?

And you immediatelymassume that this is a problem with the game? How about possibly looking in the mirror? Driver skill/ability couldn't possibly be a factor could it.....
it's a possibility, yes (driver skill). i don't say why.

Besides, you say you want "realistic" lap times and then point to an apparently expected 3:52, and then reference a Ruf GT3 at Le Mans.

Since GTE are generally quicker than GT3, you are already looking for something UNREALISTIC.

Last year's best Porsche GTE qualifying time was a 3:54.9 as listed here http://autoweek.com/article/24-hour...g-porshe-ford-gt-provisional-pole-24-hours-le

Now why would you criticize the game for not giving realistic lap times and then come in here and through out a seriously UNREALISTIC expectation??

Seems to me a 4:00 lap time at Le Mans in a GT3 is actually pretty realistic. 3:58 - 4:00 would be my expectation.

He was just saying the laps times in pCars 1 are generally quicker than real life, not just Le Mans in a RUF. English is also not his first language.

Lap times in most racing games tend to be faster than real life.
Virtual racers have no fear factor and tend to push much harder than drivers do in real life.

That's not even taking every racing game's exploits into account that allow for faster lap times.

That's one thing I'm hoping Project Cars 2 gets right above anything else. No exploits in setups or driving mechanics. I've never played a game or heard of one that doesn't have exploits. Project Cars 1 only had a few and wmd2 members have said those no longer exist. If SMS can keep people from cutting apex's and using dirt, grass, astro turf, etc. as part of the track then that will be simply amazing.

LiveTrack3.0 may change all that. It's going to be pot luck. I'll love watching leaderboards and see the discrepancy in player's times. Ohhhhhhh the horror at Nurburgring. ;)

What do you mean by it's going to be pot luck?

I realize English isn't his first language, but it seemed to me that he was saying lap times were too slow. Someone else even asked him to clarify it and that's when he responded with the 4:00 minute time that he is running.

I took his original post to mean he was expecting 3:52s in a GT3 car at Le Mans which is unrealistic. If I misunderstood that, I apologize.

As others have stated, top sim racers will always be faster than real life due to the reasons pointed out. I do think LiveTrack 3.0 will bring those times closer to real life.

I have a feeling the technical partnership with Pirelli will also help bring times down overall. Time will Tell
All those factors will contribute to lap times. Rubbering up of the track, time of day, seasonal weather, wind, debris, tyre pressure.

Let's say, in a group of 9 friends online: your mate could be a hero, by setting a good lap time in a shoot out, being the last one to run OR be a zero, because the conditions have changed and you snag pole for going first.

Versus AI: Do wait until a few minutes before end of Qualy, to do one run with the track cleaned up OR do I make sure to get a lap in, adjust pressures, fuel and camber(or whatever else) and do a couple laps early? Even in perfect weather conditions.

I'm interested to know, is this how the game will play out.

I hope so.
