Did they change the track count to 50? , this is the number I have heard at E3 a couple of times now. I though before it was 65 LOCATIONS? Know they are saying 50 tracks. Maybe be I'm way off on this.

It depends what you count as different locations. Officially, there are around 60 locations and that separates the Classic from the Modern. E.g. Modern/Classic Hockenheim is 2 locations. Andy may just have purposefully underestimated the location count because that's the certain. We don't know why.

The last two interviews I have seen he said 50 tracks and we all know this is different than locations. Just wondering

If i count the available layouts in the current WMD build (by counting the determining files in my steam folder), the number is closer to the actual car count of PC2 or GTS than to 50 or 60. SMS is conservative here and by no means overestimating or bragging about the amount of ribbons to drive on.

Wmd2 people, are lap times without ABS closer to ABS lap times now? Whoever is driving in the recent videos is braking very different compared to how you brake in pCars 1, it looks much more realistic. Currently in pCars 1 you can go full on the brakes all the way into the turn with ABS fully engaged and still have plenty of front grip to turn the car in. At 1:27 in the video the driver brakes hard and the ABS indicator lights up, the front tires squeal as he/she tries to turn in and then proceeds to run wide. Has the ABS assist been overhauled or is that more of the new tire model?

ABS in PC1 ran at physics rate (600Hz). That has been changed to real life levels, is different per ABS system used and means you cannot just put ABS on and have perfect braking every single time. Add the new brake heating and wear models and you end up with very satisfying and realistic brake behavior across all cars. Threshold braking without ABS works like a dream too, even using a controller.

Wow. That's impressive.

But we're talking about actual locations here.

According to this, there are 50 locations, albeit that a number are still greyed out.

Thank you, that's exactly what I wanted to hear.

It's not just the ABS.
There's a whole (for the much better) changes wrt to the several components that makes the physics engine not to even mention the tyres.

STM really is something else!

I mean no disrespect 50 is a lot but for the last months I thought it was confirmed 60 plus LOCATIONS

There is always room for interpretation. A conservative number leaves no attack vector open. It's entirely up to SMS and Bandai to decide on the final content. What i can count here supports both numbers communicated so far. That doesn't mean anything for the release version though.

I'm not perturbed anyway. Seriously, we have Sugo, man. I haven't run on that track since F355 Challenge on Dreamcast.
We also have Algarve. Let's be real, not like we got told we're getting a game, on a specific date and then stall us for a full year, still wondering when we'll get the game on a specific date.

I'm not worried. Hey, have a look at that Megane TCC. Isn't it grand?

This game is looking absolutely FANTASTIC on the pc.

Ian said it's equivalent on PS4. If it achieves 80% of this on the ps4 performance wise i will be satisfied.

I'm just waiting for it to hit the PSN to preorder. This is turning into the best sim racing of all time on console. Simply amazing.

All those factors will contribute to lap times. Rubbering up of the track, time of day, seasonal weather, wind, debris, tyre pressure.

Let's say, in a group of 9 friends online: your mate could be a hero, by setting a good lap time in a shoot out, being the last one to run OR be a zero, because the conditions have changed and you snag pole for going first.

Versus AI: Do wait until a few minutes before end of Qualy, to do one run with the track cleaned up OR do I make sure to get a lap in, adjust pressures, fuel and camber(or whatever else) and do a couple laps early? Even in perfect weather conditions.

I'm interested to know, is this how the game will play out.
This will add a whole dimension to how we think about qualifying. That in itself is something worthy of applause.

Sacked Stig shows something we like!

I'm more interested in the Enzo in this clip:lol:

There are 56 locations with 130 layouts confrimed so far: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/project-cars-2-track-list.353682/
Bloody hell, 130 layouts? It might be too much to swallow...
