This will add a whole dimension to how we think about qualifying. That in itself is something worthy of applause.
Certainly. Hot lapping will be different. Do you hot lap solo or get more cars on to put more rubber down or make a dry line?

Do leagues decide to have test days with rival teams, at alternative tracks, to gather data?

It's going to change the way we approach racing.
Bloody hell, 130 layouts?
I definitely know I won't get to everything before PC3.

Pcars2 just can't come soon enough! It is going to be a very long next 3 months...

So happy to see the Enzo and Aventador :)

99 Days to go!

Yes I read this also on the official forum. A guy asked the question and a moderator answered yes.

We need an official confirmation from SMS I think.
That seems so weird to be AI online only. That's good though. In case someone drops out of voluntarily leaves, the race can still go on with other cars on track. Will it effect a driver's rating if a human driver is too aggressive against the AI?

In a post, it seems to me that Ian said he would prioritize the offline custom championship. So it may be that ...
That would be very good news
To be continued ...

Just wondering any chance the fxx-k makes the cut?

My dream lineup for pcars 2 would be

P1
P1 GTR
Laferrari
FXX-K (Only one that's not known if it made the cut or not) :)

"157 more messages..." :boggled:
*skips ahead* (sorry) Geez, looks like I need to keep up more regularly with this thread.

Anyway, some questions about cameras, views and stuff:
- How freely can the cockpit camera (or seat if you will) be moved? Are there limits?
- The head/eye movement in AC can be a bit bbbumpy, which is why I use Real Head Motion which seems to insert a gyro into the driver's head. My eyes/brain isn't what it used to be so I prefer a bit smoother movement. Will PCars2 accomodate for this?
- Is proper triple screen support confirmed now, i.e. we can compensate/adjust for the 2 angled side screens?

Cheers :)

hello Ian
Thanks for all the answers, and for the great work you are doing.

some questions:
1: you can change car setup during the race?

2: the problems have been resolved to the replay?

3: the maximum number of pilots per room will always be 16?

4: Contacts between the cars have been improved?

Thanks in advance...

I doubt you're going to get a specific answer on 3 but I wouldn't be surprised if there is an increase. What that is, I doubt even they don't know.

- Obviously there are limits otherwise you could clip through something. That looks bad and is not desired.
- You could already smooth the view via G-forces slider and the World Movement slider in pC1.
- Yes, it's implemented and it works.

Everything still being polished/wip/whatever as usual.

1: you can change car setup during the race?
- Yes :)

2: the problems have been resolved to the replay?
- Idk what problems you're talking about but replay is better now. (TV broadcast style cameras)
UI has improved a lot too.

3: the maximum number of pilots per room will always be 16?
- ?

4: Contacts between the cars have been improved?
- Yes

For #3 he is talking about the number of online players on console. It was 16 for the first game. Will this number increase??

From the WMD days, I remember this being mostly limited based on the console servers, not the game itself. Still, some games are able to get into the 20+ range for online. Hopefully SMS can do the same.

That number 1 is a big improvement, glad it's in now. Still no update on tire warmers though.

You'll get tirewarmers only in classes where tirewarmers are allowed in real live
Thanks, makes sense. It's good that we can now setup the car during a race then. It's a good way to start the tuning process without a couple of laps driven first to get heat into the tires. Works for me.

What about during the race? In PCars 1, every single car got tire warmers when changing tires in the middle of the race.
I do not know about every car, but this is certainly true of the Audi R8 LMP900. It starts every session on ice slicks, but during the race you get warmed up tires after you pit. Strange thing is the tires seem to be warmed to temps near what they were when you pitted. It is never consistent.
