Nah if anything they should expand upon the ones we have now and then some. Take can am for example, currently only has one but imagine in PC3 they added another half a dozen worthy ones. Shadow, McLaren, Ferrari, Chevy, Nissan, chapperal... Another expample is trans am, that could be a whole new field adding 70s-90s plus the newer trans am series of cars. Cutting down would be going backwards, I like the route they are taking currently...so to speak.
More content is great, but it seems SMS have slightly over extended themselves trying to have this many different disciplines and features. They are still a small studio in a lot of people’s eyes and with that there’s only a given amount of time in a day to work on the game. Maybe trim a few classes back and move dirt to another franchise. Then SMS could really focus on the remaining classes and make them awesome.

Now rally/dirt racing I can agree with getting rid of. It's nice in this game but to me PC is built solely for tarmac racing. I understand your view point.

Tracks and cars, I really think, compared to other games, SMS has it right. A bit of everything, little missing. Yes, some of the existing classes could do with more choice or some kind of BoP system to encourage more variety in the racing (getting frustrated by the GT3 addiction in this game!).

But I honestly think, at this point, any effort by SMS on cars and tracks is effort diverted from fixing the War and Peace-length bug list. I honestly think that PC3 without a single new car or track, but everything working exactly how it should would be worth the full price of the disk!

A game with this amazing track and car selection shouldn't be being passed on because it is too buggy...

I'm not passing on it. Plenty of others here aren't passing on it. If you want to go right ahead but don't keep popping in here just to remind others how much you don't like it. Fair enough?

It might be fair enough if you actually read my post... I didn't say I'm passing on it. But many are.

I am not reminding people how much I don't like it. But I am apparently annoying some that want to keep pretending that things are just peachy. They aren't. The game could be much better. But it will take a shift in attitude, not only from SMS, but maybe from people like yourself who enable SMS to continue with their shoddy coding by launching themselves at anyone who brings up the unfortunate truth.

It's a great game, with great flaws.

BTW, feel free to not read my posts if you have trouble dealing with reality.

Fair enough?

Who gives a 🤬 who's passing on it. Play the game, enjoy the game. Reality. It's a 🤬 video game. There is absolutely nothing remotely even close to reality in this game,GTS,Forza, blah ,blah, blah.Bugs, yeah it's the only video game to have ever encountered them. Give your head a shake.:gtpflag:

How ****ing awkward is the pit entry to Bathurst!!!

It's bad enough in the dry let alone trying to get in it on slicks while it's pissing with rain.

Had a damn good chance of being 1st, or at least in the top 3.

Rant over :)
I do love this game, emotions & all.

Wave the flag all you like. The more people pass on it, the slower the bugs get fixed (that costs money), the slower DLC gets added (that costs money), the slower the next game gets developed (that takes money), the lower the participation is online (that makes it boring), the lower the choice of rooms and tracks and cars is (that makes it boring), yada yada yada...

My head is already shaking. In sorrow. This game could easily be the best all round racing game ever. And shortsightedness is killing it. To the cheers of its hardcore fans.

What the hell are you talking about. They patch the game, people complain. They have a DLC release plan, its called the season pass. To come on here and complain about something you clearly didn't due your due diligence on is laughable at best. If you joined this forum to complain about a game that doesn't have what you want in it,when you could have searched this forum to find out its downfalls. Well its good fun to read your posts.

The problem is that you can't release a new game which is basically a bug fix of an existing game, at least in my opinion. I do agree a bug fixed version of PC2 is a very good base for a sequel. Just add a few cars and tracks ( I wouldn't mind a lot ). Non-script the career, add custom championships and fine tune some other things players complain about and you have yourself PC3. Preferably make it easier to enter for new players, in which ever way they believe is desirable. Although I still believe everyone can drive the majority of the cars on most tracks with full assists.

Now I have zero knowledge of game development or anything related but I have read on numerous mentions this game squeezes everything out of these consoles which might cause part of the current flaws. On a next generation, just stay a few percent away of that limit.

On a different topic, as of late I'm trying to drive the cars with authentic assists ( PS4 with a controller ) and while I have quite some experience with racing games I spin a lot when I'm not careful, especially on cold tires ( yes I know that's realistic ). These authentic assists force me to lower the AI level to be competitive but I enjoy the challenge, and when I get frustrated I simply take a break.

And one last point, as far as the discussion of how this game should be marketed. A high percentage of at least PS4 players is at most a casual racing enthousiast, a lot of them simply don't look further than GT Sport or the annual F1 game. That being said, my casual racing friends know this game by me but simply don't value many of the selling points of this game. Most of them ignored GT Sport as well and go for the occasional race to F1, simply because they are familiar with the content. Therefore I believe this game will always struggle to reach a market share close to GT and F1. Whether appealing to more serious racers is profitable enough to keep the operation going is up to SMS to decide.

Perhaps PC2 has to take a look at rainbow six siege. Accept that this will be your game for a few years, develop / improve it even further and add some free content after the season pass ends and perhaps some highly requested features ( non scripted career and custom championships ). I understand this costs resources but I believe SMS / Project Cars franchise has to build a reputation to have a long term future

Here is my honest opinion. I have used a wheel since Nascar Racing 2003. Which is now IRacing basically. If you want to play a "Sim" get a wheel. Plain and simple. Yes there are aliens on controllers. They are few and far between.

I know, main problem is that we tend to game on a few different locations with a few guys together making it impossible to use a wheel most of the time and making it an expensive investment for the few hours a month i play at home

Anyone know why the GTR doesn't have that little timer thing from this picture? All the videos i seen of the gtr on yt the car has that :)

Got to laugh at some of these replies...

The assumption is that, if there is any criticism of a game, you MUST hate it . Far from it. That's kind of the point. With very little added, this is easily the best racing game ever. Currently though, it's not even the best sim. That's probably iRacing. The best handling and FFB? That's probably AC. The best, most flexible online system? That's probably GTS (or, IMHO, GT5/6!). Best content? Definitely PC2.

But PC2 comes closest to best all round. And with very little added, becomes the ultimate car game for both hardcore simmer and casual weekend player. But the resistance to change, from both the devs and the kind of people that show their colors shooting down ANY change rather than admit the game's flaws, it looks very likely the game will be stuck in this mediocrity.

The game needs refinement. Refinement of lobby options, refinement of AI behavior (honestly, guys, who can watch a replay of 30 AI going into T1 without squirming in embarrassment?), refinement of parity in stock tunes (some stock tunes are almost perfect, some are close to undriveable), refinement by squashing bugs, etc., etc..

Now, of course I realize there's no chance of a PC3 with little more than bugs fixed. But what worries me, and the PC1 to PC2 transition seems to illustrate, is that SMS will once again bite off FAR more than they can chew, add a bunch of stuff that remain buggy for most of its lifecycle, leave in bugs from the previous game, and once again develop a game sold to console players that can barely run on it and lacking vital features for the PC version. I believe that, if all SMS did was completely fix Livetrack 3.0 (and call it Livetrack 4.0 to justify the new game!), completely fix the AI quirks, the handling quirks, the lobby quirks and just added a few tracks and cars, it would easily be worth the price of a new game.

But another game with poorly functioning features, a buglist the length of War and Peace, and a console release far inferior to the PC version (I'm not talking resolution or framerates, I'm talking things like no lobby titles in the console version, stuff like that), with hidden rooms and massive obstacles for casual, non-league players to create a clean community, I'm not sure how anyone expects the franchise to grow.

Happy with the current game? Happy with how few players it has, online (especially consoles)? What are you doing on a wishlist thread in the first place?! You have to question the motives of people that come onto wishlist threads and try to shoot down the desire for improvement...

How much of the game is so bad? There is 22 of my friends on right now. So that's basically 2 lobbies of 11. Like I said before, the game has bugs, are they game breaking. No I play every day. I don't bitch and moan on a forum that has nothing to do with the game as GT Planet isn't the developer. Perhaps you could spare us the same 🤬 we have read over and over from other "disappointed " people. Go to the SMS forum and give them proper 🤬 over there. Ranting on like preacher from the pulpit is making you look rather foolish actually. The game has been out for a while now. Wishlist or bitchfest? Gotta wonder!

Glad you were able to find some more worthy stock tunes since the first time you brought up that point.

Hi,
How can I watch the 6 hours of SPA live and free? My TV sport channels is just showing cycling and snooker... last year I could find a live stream on the web, but I've searched now and can't find anything reliable, only websites that are trying to trick me I think.

Probably better to ask here.

What is the best way to avoid (I'm actually going to use the term oceans) across the whole track?

BRNO Circuit, thunderstorm, the S/F straight is affectively an island to the rest of the track.
Massive track width puddle at the 1st & last corner to which you are already turning the vehicle when you hit both, therefore aquaplaning off into the sunset.

What can I do other than cut onto the grass.

Where is Moses when you need him.

Yeah i wanna know this to :)

What i normally do is either slow down and lift off the gas or go at full speed and just right before the water puddle lift off the gas and hold on for dear life.

I also have a question? When the 4 tire icon is flashing like Christmas lights what does it mean? I seen it happen a few times now.

Depends what you mean, if it's blue to light green then it's because the car was sitting on the ground for a while and not moving. The tires gain heat from the pit area then when you go to drive the warm spot moves and the temperature indicator to flashes until the heat becomes uniform.

Thank you :)

Yes i remember leaving the car in the pits for a good 5 plus minutes before i started to drive and plus i was on winter conditions. :)

I have Just been reading up about this auto tune feature regarding the immersive & informative ffb settings & from what I understand it automatically dials down the ffb to prevent any clipping that might occur if (we the users) set it slightly to high.

However it can take between 1-3 laps to get finely tuned (depending on how strong you had it to start with).

I presume/understand why this would reset every time you change car as they have different ffb levels to start with, but does it remember if you stay in the same car for a few races on the same track?

One thing i like to do is go on youtube and lookup videos of pro drivers driving on some of the tracks in the game, this gif shows the way i use to take this turn and after seeing a video of west (pro driver) i know take this turn the way he did.:)
