Sometimes the stable setups are not efficient with the gear ratios. For example I couldn't get the Ferrari 333 into 6th gear anywhere at Monza until I adjusted the ratios myself. Try that?

A tip on how to recharge the P1 GTRs Hybrid energy on Daytona International Speedway.

Short video on how to recharge it after it runs out.

Takes around 6 to 8 laps for it to recharge to full again.

I have reason to believe that's exactly what SMS has already been doing. A few examples: the OMSE RX Lite is nothing like the undrivable overcorrecting top it was at launch, the BMW 1M Coupe is not as excessively sensitive as it was before, and the Gr.A Skyline GT-R is no longer as likely to rotate into an unrecoverable slide on a long turn.

But the issue is, how does a noob know?

Perhaps there's a good case for a sticky titled '1st time players, avoid these cars at all cost!'

And slowly strike them off the list as SMS tweak them...

I looked and looked when I first started playing. There's very little in the way of help for starter players with the emphasis more on 'DON'T do this (don't drive this, don't race here, don't use these tires, don't start this Career Event with this car, etc.!)'.

It might be nice to welcome new players to the fold with some basic warnings. And then a nice easy build your way up path. PC2's sandbox system is all well and good, but can be off-putting if you pick a couple of bad combos to start.

And yes, I've noticed things getting easier lately, but I have a feeling quite a bit of it is down the the Patch 5 tire changes. Things that used to snap on you now tend to let go a bit more progressively, giving you time to adjust to them, rather than sitting in the sandtrap wondering what happened (again!).

I guess you can always have a look at those "Cornering speed" and "Driving difficulty" bars but I'm a bit skeptical towards them myself. Plus it has the opposite effect on me, I usually go for the cars I have to fight and learn...

I just realize i gone pass 20,000 miles with my p1 gtr :D:)

Here's to another 20K miles :cheers::gtpflag::D:)

This is seriously tempting to give a proper go at, must resist! I think it would be cool to go to Silverstone GP qualifying as a works driver.

Looking at leaderboards I can see, PC seems a lot more competitive than PS4 at the moment. Please could someone with Xbox version post screenshot of top times on there at the moment?

That’s not too surprising, somehow I’m 1st on PS4 when I usually suck at rallycross and have barely played the game.

You got the leaderboard for PC?

Not surprised you say that as I think I recall seeing a gamepad user within a tenth, I'm rubbish on this game with one so they must be performing miracles. Well done though, I know what you mean by that as I did the same on last WMD event as I never tried rallycross before and played the game very little, I decided to give it a go last minute and managed to learn the track and top it really quickly. I think there are still quite a number of fast UK drivers yet to give it a go though so probably get more difficult once / if they get aware of this event especially for the later rounds. Out of interest, do you play chase cam on this game too?

I don't have the game on PC as chose to get PS4 version even though I don't have a compatible wheel yet :banghead: , however PC leaderboards are viewable online to all.

Renault esports Qualifier 1

PC version I'm put off by due to online race being at Azure Circuit so expecting carnage there although could work out favourable. Xbox version seems most tempting depending on competition as then don't have to learn track for race if I'm quick enough to get that far. I haven't played retail version of game with a wheel or ever tried an online race on pCARS so probably going to be hard against the more experienced drivers but I know deep down I should have the speed to be competitive. However at the same time can't be bothered with the effort especially during Ramadan and having already another awesome event to prepare for which is like main prize of this event but even better. Not sure what dates Gear.Club event falls on yet so if it clashes, I won't bother but if not I might casually try this one and see if I still manage to make it to an online race. I wish there were events like this many years ago, good to see they chose default setups so far which makes things a lot easier. 👍

This is the biggest letdown for a modern racing game I’ve ever seen. The fact I can’t race Online in any lobby is absolutely ridiculous, not to mention if I’m in a party I also get DC’d within 5 minutes of being in it. I didn’t think any game could have worse Online than GT5, but this proved me wrong.

An idea of what console and your connection speeds would be far more useful than just simple ranting.

Connection issues is the worst part ever about gaming. I take it you play on the ps4.

I have struggled with it in pC2 too. I had no issues with other games except pC2.

My issue probably was an outdated router, I tried everything. My last option I could try without my isp provider was to change out the router. I haven't had strange disconnections since.

Message me if you want to ask something.

Seems the other fast drivers have come out in the last couple of days, came back on and my 35.362 which was fastest was now 10th and I was 6th in the UK. I've managed to improve my time today though and am on a 35.086 putting my back to first by 0.08s seconds. :D And I'm using roof cam for this, I find I only really like chase cam on GT.

Thanks, definitely a lot more difficult on PC, even with my new time I'd be 6th on their leaderboards nearly 0.4 off the fastest.

I have no idea how well I'm going to be able to do in the other events so will just have to see how it goes. Luckily I've got a lot of spare time as I only have 1 exam left at uni before I'm off for the summer, good luck with that other event!

I guess this is an alright place to put this, I did a quick search to see if there was a thread for it, but seems not

but I've recently got Project Cars 2 on PS4 and would love a few GTP members to maybe race online against and such

PSN: BraddersVee :)

re. the Renault esports qualifiers, I find it amusing (I've got a strange sense of humour!) that the majority of the times being set in the PC division of the Renault qualifiers are by people not really eligible to take part! I finished the first qualifier in 6th, but that's effectively 4th due to 2 people above me not being UK resident, and about a tenth off your time Spurgy (nice lap that :) ).

Currently sitting P3 in the 2nd qualifier (even though I don't strictly need to take part, having done enough in the first one) but with P2 not eligible it's effectively P2. The P1 time is damned impressive (as was the P1 time in the first qualifier) but I know I can get within a few hundredths of it.

I'd not touched RallyCross before this other than a dozen laps for one of the community events a while back (it's really not my cup of tea) and I loathe FWD cars in all sims with a passion, so I really wasn't looking forward to these qualifiers!

Hello friends

Project Cars 2 is down to £25 on the Playstation Store sale. Is it worth buying, as I already have Gran Turismo Sport? Please advise me!

Thank you everyone :)

Yes, I know. But I'm more looking for casual, ocassional lobby racing, and not to take part in organised leagues or events right now, hence, that subforum doesn't suit. When I wish to take part in actual events or leagues, then I will obviously go to that subforum and check stuff out.
You can try making a thread on that sub forum, not about league racing but about casual get together.
Just a thought since you'll have better luck finding people to race online there. :)

If you have a wheel with FFB then definitely yes - if you are using a hand controller, then I get the impression from this forum and friends that it is possible to enjoy the game, but you need to be quite good / experienced with a controller.
