(thanks to the Quick Resume feature, I can just pick up where I left off).
My thoughts on Quick Resume before and after playing PC2:

Not sure I'd risk it for a race, but not having to "CTRL + K" every time is a nice bonus.

This is strange timing, indeed. I haven't been on the site in so long and I was curious to see if anyone is still playing into the older games. This makes me want to fire up PC2 myself.

I didn't realize that gt7 was going to follow GT sport and be only online all the time. I know that's the new way of things but I hate that. It's the same way with The Division

Frankly I don't know why more PS5 users aren't playing Project Cars 2.

It arguably looks better than GT7, and runs effing fantastic on the PS5.

There's no question it has a better physics model than GT7 as well. Tons of cars and tracks. An actual single player campaign with tons of things to do.

PC2 is a freaking gold mine. Not sure why it fell out of favor.

PC2+next gen console= Awesome experience. But it is several years old and slightly forgotten, plus many of the players from the previous gen consoles, particularly the original XBox One, I would wager did not have a great time with it the first go round and are reluctant to try it again. And on Playstation the GT series will always be king, especially with a shiny new title to play people have waited years for.

I have noticed some life in the XBox lobbies recently as the next gen consoles get to more people, that's good to see, not that I dare venture into them often.

Perhaps PC3 soured people? Perhaps it was just people needing something new?

But, yes, I agree with you wholeheartedly.

I've been vocal for years that PC2 is a Masterpiece. It's nearly impossible to explain to others how deep and robust it is, especially for a console game.

Outside of racing online with a great group of guys from Britain (who I met here), my time has been spent on career mode and custom races, my favorite being multi class races. The single player OFFLINE (yes, I'm talking to you Kaz) can keep someone busy for years.

I was back on PC2 for a few weeks but I'm now playing GT7 and, although I didn't love GT Sport, I'm really enjoying GT7. It's not as deep as PC2 but the physics are much better than GTS and the AI is significantly better than GTS.

Handling in the rain is much more realistic on GT7 than PC2.

I live my life in open lobbies, it's definitely a challenge making it up to S class in an open lobby but I'm 11 Points away, I haven't got the time to join dedicated leagues so I have to use them, although I join rooms of people that I see regularly & it remains relatively clean but you do get the odd few crash dummies.

Can't really say why on console, other than PC3 being 'odd' is the most likely reason.

On PC it still has a small audience, but most have graduated to AMS2, which has taken the madness engine and dialed it up a lot, making it the title PC3 should have been and more.

I'm so glad I gave it another chance (after trying PC1 again.) I hated it on the One S, but it's like a different game on the XSX.
I actually didn't mind PC3 at first, but the handling just seems off now compared to PC2.

Me too. I had it for Xbox1 and PS4. I just popped it back in recently now that I have a PS5, And it's just a joy to drive. And it looks fantastic.

I haven't loaded it onto my Series X yet, just laziness on my part, but now that sounds like a good project for this weekend.

I enjoy PC2 on my PS5 I love the car and track list but it is an older game and most people like the new shiny to toy. I don't feel PC3 affects people's opinion of 2 I had bought long before It bought 3. I enjoy them both where they are

Well I got PCars 2 loaded on to the Series X this afternoon. I can't tell one bit of difference in the way it looks. Trees still pop in like they did on One X, there are still just as many jaggies reflected from fencing etc. I'll try to pay a little more attention the next time I play it but as of now it doesn't look any different to me on next gen console.

It's the same version, can't be better. But if you load PC2 today, it's probably the nicest sim on Xbox. So advanced and resolution were so high.

Ninja'd. Was going to say the same thing. Last update was Feb 10th 2018. And that's how it remains.
Still holds up well on PC as well especially with the Custom FFB files.

It was the last game I played on my X1X and the first game I played on the XSX- literally played it back to back within minutes of each other. The graphics and LOD pop in kind of are what they are- but I haven't seen a karate chop or a set of wheels rolling down the road without a body on the SX yet. Lighting seems way better, especially noticeable when it's not mid-day with good weather (FM7 is the same way, surprisingly). Where I did notice a big difference, and don't get me wrong, it's still Project Cars 2 and some of the curbs will still try to kill you, but fewer of them- was the physics don't take a dump when there's more than a few cars on track and the weather goes sideways. The FFB stays consistent. LiveTrack seems to actually work properly. The tires fall off gradually, rather than being good, good, good, f@#$ I'm upside down. I remember my first run through career, towards the end it was getting really frustrating on the X1X, I remember the IndyCar series in particular, the race at Road America I re-started I don't know how many times, because running full length at around lap 9, at Canada Corner (lots of trees and objects there, right?) the car would just spin. It was that predictable. I haven't had my car commit suicide or disqualify me during an auto rolling start since the upgrade.

Basically the upgrade from OG X1 (where I lost all progress three times before giving up) to X1X bumped the graphics up and made the game actually playable, the upgrade from X1X to XSX fixed most of the physics inconsistencies. All that extra horsepower working.

I don't want to oversell it so I'll put it this way- it turned it from a game I wanted to like to my favourite four wheeled racing game on the console.

Finally....... After 550ish races, 120ish 1st places, 350ish podiums & 500ish top 10s, I got my S class :)

All in the world of online open lobby madness.

My skill rating has dropped from 1800 odd to 1730 though where I have been more focused on not hitting anything as opposed to going for the win so I'll have to build that back up now I don't have to worry about the safety rating anymore.

They're was a few retirements, disconnects, dnfs & a small amount of rage quitting along the way, but what do you expect in an open lobby with a few ramming idiots, saying that 75% of the time it was actually quite clean-ish, a little rubbing & bumping here & there but overall I enjoyed it.

Incredible! The only time I went online with this game was to race with my friends from Europe. It was a safe environment.

I don't know how on earth you were able to do this in open lobbies.

Will you be playing GT7 or staying with PC2?

Staying with PC2, hopefully move onto AMS2 if they bring it console or ACC if they ever sort it out, I'm on the series x so no gt7 for me, besides it looks like the same old crap just polished up.

GT7 is ok. Really is Sport 2.0. They just finished developing what Sport should have been and called it 7.
The linear progression model is one of the bigger let downs of GT7. Physics are a smidge better. AI seems the same.
PC2 is still relevant in comparison but GT7 adds that Gran Turismo style although it is safe to call it Grind Turdismo after the microtransactions and stingy payouts for races.

Takes 5 mins to set up a one-make Porsche 917K race with different liveries in PC2. How long would that take in GT7?

Don't worry, GT7 is trash currently. AMS2 is sooo delayed, no consoles any time soon or completely broken. ACC... I am waiting for it too, Kunos failed so many times with consoles already.

I don't know. Probably less than 5 minutes? More than five minutes? What's the right answer? I'm going with less than 5 minutes because the last custom race I did in GT7 took about a minute or two and all I would of had to select was one make instead of random cars.

What if the car is not accessible?

AMS2 maybe a little bit delayed but not by much. What they have already is miles ahead of what PC2 left off with. It really is wonderful. It's at the top of the list for me but I parallel it with ACC, rF2 and old AC for different reasons. I mean, I can have fun with GT7 and then do a race in AMS2 if I want to get serious. I don't even want to know what you'd say if I told you I still have PC3 installed on my PC. 😬

"What if the car is not accessible?"

I see, the whole buy the car thing. That I can agree with but there's enough to take your time and mind away from needing to do a 917 one make race. It's one of those, you'll get there when you get there type of scenarios with GT7. And getting there might take A LOT of time then. lol

Oh, it's brutally delayed. Bugs everywhere. It's just too big for them actually. In the end of 2021 should have been everything done. I don't mind but console release is much more unreal than 2 years ago. The game is fine if you find what currently works. PC3 is not bad if you don't use gamepad. Simple physics doesn't mean less fun.

I am not sure why he asked but buying stuff is big restriction too.

I never heard anything about the whole of AMS2 being done by the end of 2021. For such a small team?
I'm not sure the big buzz about console but I can't see it being everything that people hear about already. GT7 and ACC already have lods popping in right before your very eyes so they can just run. Maybe they get AMS2 to work, I would think that would be far off anyways though.
80% of the content in AMS2 runs great. The tracks are beautiful and some of the best looking around. Weather is done really well with backdated weather scenarios for years. I've never felt more immersed and felt on track as I have with AMS2. Also I've never scene a team of people be so involved and into communication with the community. I can overlook small oversights and delays when I know that Reiza is a genuine team. That couldn't of been said for the Project Cars franchise so far. Well maybe in the beginning.
I hope they can wrangle Project Cars back in line. If they work with what Reiza has already proved can be done, A PC4 could be a top contender.

The nerve of you how can anybody like that game! J/k I bought a few months back for my PS5 I enjoy it for what it is. Great car and track selection

The right answer is... ages. The 917K is one of those 20mil cars I believe, so to create a full grid custom race with multiple custom liveries you'd have to grind for all of them!

I think @AttackDickie was being a little sarcastic. ;)

Wrong thread really, but how does PC3 run on PS5. I still enjoy it, as you say, for what it is, but it does struggle on occasions on my PS4 pro. They strangely managed to make the graphics/performance both better and worse! Is it smooth on the 5?
