On the subject of head movement on consoles.
Could the PS4 camera or Track iR5 be used instead?
This could help those with the original PS4 who want to play the game using their TV.

Note: I have the PS4 VR headset and the PS4 Pro.

What I find amusing is that @IanBell has actually answered more questions in the past few days than Kazunori Yamauchi did the entire time his Q&A Sub-Forum was up, and that was an official partnership between Kaz and GTP
...

It's amazing how much recognition this site gets from the pCARS team. Remember the GTP livery that was officially included in their last game? I think this community really ought to reciprocate this level of recognition and maybe set pCARS as GTP's front and center game. For sure that other game we all know doesn't deserve it.

Are you suggesting PCPlanet?

I think Jordan tried that a few years back with Forza.

We've been giving pCARS a good amount of coverage on the news page, so I'm sure Ian appreciates that.

Longtime SimBin fan,(I go back to the original GTR mod on a Pentium 3 450mhz...Marcos LM600? Whoof!) totally enjoying PCars. Can't wait for "2", and totally not surprised Mr. Bell is here. I'll pre-order based on that alone!

Are you suggesting PCPlanet?...

Not quite, although I could see things heading that way if Slightly Mad continues to foster a relationship with this site.:) I'm suggesting that this site should probably start moving away from the developer that is entirely out of touch with their customers and continue to build a relationship with the developer who not only interacts with their customers, but who is also making a cutting edge racing game.

Small update on Interlagos. We've made contact with the nice people at the circuit and have also sourced a laser scan.

As soon as the team catch a breath they'll start working on it.

Jesus cristo.

You guys are as fast as Senna!

Hoping to see Interlagos on it.

I'm kinda proud i, in some very minor way of course, am a factor of bringing this legendary track to the game.

What a feeling.

Thanks again Ian and SMS lads.

You guys give about every racing game from sim to arcade and everything in between some coverage and I think that is just terrific. Thanks to that GT Planet has also become my one-stop news site for everything car-related in video games. Big thumbs up for the multi-coverage.

I personally also don't like all the pigeonholing you often see on the internet (certainly not on this forum, I mean more in general). All these game x vs game y debates and fanbases throwing mud over to the other side. It's almost as if you can only play ONE game at the time. I love racing games, both arcade and sim. In regards to sim there is no X or Y for me, there is X and Y. I'm a late sim racer, 40+ of age but only got involved with GT5 & GT6 on the PS3 as the first racing game on real life tracks. Then I moved over to the XBox One in anticipation for FM6 but ended up staying there with Project CARS, Dirt Rally, Assetto Corsa and F1 as well. Sadly GT5 & GT6 are on another platform so I don't play those anymore due to the hassle of moving too much hardware around, but each game sure had it's own focus and they could all co-exist perfectly next to each other :
GT5/GT6 : focus on Japanese cars & tracks
FM5/FM6 : USA focus
PC1 : British focus
Assetto : Italian focus
F1 : All those nifty F1 circuits not in the above games (Sepang, Interlagos, Sochi, Bahrain, Mexico, ...)
Dirt Rally : offroad / rallycross

That's 6 families of racing games and they can all co-exist just fine next to each other. Sure I have my favorite game as well but there is always something in one particular game that you like but don't find in any other one.

So again, kudos to the GT team for the work on the site.

Well that's it! Interlagos confirmed! But remember!! One region-representative track will not represent a whole continent ;)

No it does not, but it is a very impressive start.

@IanBell My sincere thanks to you and the team for not only investigating the possibility, but making it happen. More importantly, thank you for announcing it here to us already. This bodes well for us that your licensing conversations with track owners went very well and was productive.

Now, How about Canadian Tire Motorsports Park (aka Mosport)? I am sure Mr. Ron Fellows would be eager to talk with you as well ;)

And Lance Stroll's dad for Mont Tremblant. ;)

Does someone know how long replays could be on PC version of PCARS? I've read 1h55m or 45 laps, is that true?

I've recorded MUCH longer than 1h55m. Sadly the replay system is very badly flawed with cars being stuck on the grid, wrong cars/liveries, etc. As someone that runs a competitive league, this is an area I am very interested in and very hopeful that new broadcasting tools have also addressed this.

I would like to add some extra comment on the bold part. Seeing how a few days ago Ian mentioned here that they were trying to get the Interlagos license and then today he's giving us some more positive info which feels as if he just got off the phone with the Interlagos crew and then turned straight to us. It might sound weird but this kind of stuff makes me feel as if I'm part of the team that's involved of creating this great game. Awesome job Ian and that's not only because it's good news, if you would have said that the Interlagos license would be too expensive for now then I would have appreciated that as well, even if I wouldn't have liked it.

This is again such a massive contrast compared to the guys over at Turn 10 who always shut the communication door completely and you don't have any info on what's happening at all. For some reason they seem to think a complete blocking of all development communication towards their fanbase is the right way to go...

I can't speak for everyone but the SMS way makes me feel part of the team and gets me all excited while the Turn 10 way simply alienates me from their game and makes me loose interest.

I have only one question for Ian Bell.

Why are you so slow around Oulton Park man?
Get out of the way!!

@IanBell I have a question that has had me puzzled for some time now, Which models are easier to get licencing for/if licencing is even required, For example everybody knows Ferrari would require lots of licensing and suchlike, But what happens for lesser known or defunct cars and brands are they easier to get access to ?

Would love to see more obscure/less successful cars in games as they don't often get the limelight they deserved and generally forgotten in future generations.

Mosler Raptor, Qvale Mangusta, Rover SD1 Vitesse are some examples of these rarely digitized racing cars.

I second this, honestly. I feel as well part of SMS by doing this questions, and suggesting him and SMS tracks, cars, and features ♥. More even, I could feel as an anonymous local hero if at least one of my local (peruvian) tracks I suggested to him a while ago ends up in the game, since I was the one who put them on the spotlight :D

@IanBell curious if the thrust master t500rs will get "better" support on ps4 this time. I know it's not officially supported by sony, but it was really frustrating having to shut the game off and reset the wheel 5 times a session to get the wheel to work properly

Laser scanned Interlagos + dynamic weather & time change = awesome!
If open-wheelers get confirmed I'm sure there will be people trying to create Verstappen overtake on the outside in the wet.

@TexasTyme214 I'm so happy to see the Toyota TS020 GT-one! For years I have wanted to see this icon added to a racing title I will actually buy. The version in recent GT titles has been horrendous.

Same here. Since this is the 98 version of the car, I'm guessing it'll run against the Mercedes in GT1 rather than the BMW LMR in P900.

Edit: new penalties shown from 3:35-3:45
