Ginetta is delighted to confirm the appointment of Williams Advanced Engineering as the aerodynamic testing provider for their forthcoming Ginetta LMP1 car. The Oxfordshire-based team will provide wind tunnel services to the Ginetta LMP1 project.

Williams will work in parallel with Adrian Reynard’s Auto Research Centre (ARC) on the CFD of the project. A number of CFD runs have already taken place, with the aerodynamics element of the project set to commence in early June.

Ewan Baldry, Ginetta Technical Director; “We are thrilled to be working with Williams on the aerodynamics elements of the Ginetta LMP1 project. The have an impressive facility, which can run the Ginetta LMP1 model at a full range of ride heights, roll angles and yaw position and it’s fantastic to know the Ginetta LMP1 has the opportunity to be tested in the same wind tunnel which has helped Williams win multiple F1 titles.”

As the technology and engineering services business of the Williams Group, Williams Advanced Engineering are renowned for providing world class innovation in engineering and technology, operational performance, testing and manufacturing services.

I wonder if this will translate in the game. That us, if Ginetta still collab with SMS/WMD.

I'm actually not bothered by the frame rate at all. There you go, 'no excuse' debunked :-)

I guess you have a really hard time watching any content with less than 60 fps, would drive me nuts too. Extrapolating this into 'everything less than perfectly paced 60 fps is generally unacceptable' in a general sense is quite steep i think.

Classic strawman.

The original footage was ripped and uploaded again at a lower framerate. THAT is what is inexcusable.

I have no issue with accepting 30 FPS locked when it is needed for all the candy to run smoothly on my stock PS4 :embarrassed:
Me neither, so long as the PS Pro is at a silky-smooth 60fps.

Seriously though, if it was announced that pCARS 2 was locked to 30fps on the Pro (however unlikely this might be) then my interest in it would instantly evaporate. I know a lot of people who feel exactly the same, too.

I never knew SMS was such a worldwide studio and assumed pCARS was pretty much British-developed with some EU assistance. Good to see devs from all over the place in these vids.

The point you wanted to make was not included in your original complaint. Can't expect people to know about all implications you had in mind.

You HAVE to be kidding. I wrote:

"There really is no excuse for uploading gameplay footage with such a dodgy frame rate. The actual game runs a LOT smoother".

It simply could not be clearer.

I have yet to come across a game where I really can feel the difference. Maybe I am less sensible for those FPS?

Example: people say that the handling model of SLR (30FPS) is better then Dirt Rally's (60FPS) I simply can't understand why 60 is a must be.

Two different arguments, i commented on the first, generalizing one and you told me its a straw man argument. Then you came up with the second one, which is much more specific and i have no problem accepting it.

And yes, the game runs a lot smoother on a capable PC of course.

- tire pressure is in BAR, while it is in PSI in the main screen.
- there's display with two lines (green and red)
- the number of G is not mentioned (bottom, middle).

I don't notice the difference between the 2 either. If there's no stuttering, i'll barely notice any differences between any frame rate.

The green and red is likely FFB.

This is a quick reskin of the old telemetry screen. Not final from what i know. The two lines indicate that a controller with two rumble motors is used here, not a wheel.

Lol. Nonsense. Give it up.

Read it up again, reflect about your conduct and move on please. Last reply to your insults from my side.

More than happy to move on, but I was only defending myself from your unjustified and unsolicited criticism. Physician, heal thyself. :P

Re those who genuinely can't tell the difference between 30fps and 60fps: are you using TVs with interpolation activated? Motion smoothing can make a 30fps game look like 60fps (if you can ignore the janky artifacts that it often throws up and the added input lag). My new set has pretty good adjustable interpolation that basically lets me play Motorstorm Pacific Rift at what looks like 60fps for 90% of the time.

MOTORSTORM PACIFIC RIFT ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I love that game

The way I read this is you moved the goal post, this all started over a REPLAY and not over GAMEPLAY. Big difference especially when we talking about it being on YT. Just my 2 cents carry on.

Hopefully that's just a reskin as blowfish said and there will be more indepth telemetry this time around as that is the exact same as pCars1.

Jeepers. My original post was only pointing out that a YouTuber has badly misrepresented the game by uploading footage at a much lower framerate than the source material. If I'd had known my comments were going to be forensically dissected and exhaustively criticised then I'd have posted it on 4chan. :)

Yeah the measurement is just a mockup as far as I know.
Those will show correct value once the code is fully hooked to new UI.
Are you saying that telemetry is final and just the actual numbers aren't fully functional yet?

Ok that's what I understood from blowfish. When SeriousFox said "the measurement is just a mock up" I thought he literally meant just the values were mock ups. Thanks for clarifying.
I had the same understanding from what they said.

More rallycross gameplay and gt3 race in Red Bull Ring

RBR looking real nice in those delightful autumnal shades. Nice details/scuffs on the helmet visor plastic there too. Hoping there'll be an option to disable the pit guy's subtitles though, which we didn't have in pCARS1. This should be some game 👍
