The requirements from Sony to have all PS4 games released after June be playable on PS5 is clear and understood.

My speculation is as follows in regards to pCARS3, It will be either that:

1) pCARS3 will be playable on PS5, OR
2) SMS will release another game right soon after once PS5 is release, maybe called pCARS Revolution...

There is no way that SMS is missing out on the Next Gen Console bandwagon...

So far, from what i am seeing, i wish what we are seeing is pCARS Revolution and the next title by pCARS 3 on PS5...

i am flying blind, so just speculating...

From my understanding its only games submitted to Sony after 13 july that has to be PS5 combatible. Anything before that is optional for the developer. Although Sony strongly sugest that Developers make their games able to run on PS5.

Anyway for PCars 3 this might not matter if the game has a release day in September, then I am sure it will be PS5 ready.

But for example Assetto corsa Competizione may not if its released June 23.

But the dev of ACC can choose to make playable on PS5 despite not being required based on their release date...

Do hopefully the case.

I was on YouTube this morning and several times adverts for PC3 came up. I don't remember this level of advertising for PC1 or 2 - perhaps these adverts are a result of Codemasters increasing the marketing budget?

Well for pCars 1 and 2, the marketing started a lot earlier, the first trailer for pCars 2 was in February for a September release. Having WMD members were also helping advertise the game in a way.

An image of a Switch?
:dopey:
If they're gonna do a "Project CARS Go", they could make it work. Also see: The Outer Worlds, The Witcher 3, Doom (2016)...

Not that I'm holding my breath for PCARS3 for Switch. I've already got a PS4 for a racing/driving game box now.

I mean in the context of that picture asking about cross platform and not listing the Switch in the text yet having an image of it there :P

Whatever PC3 will be, I think I will still buy it to enjoy while waiting for GT7 to come, because no date has been set for GT7 yet.

Even if GT7 comes Holiday 2020, we would get PC3 three month before to enjoy and we can still enjoy both at the same time like I and doing right now with GTS and PC2...

As much as I want to get GT7 on day one, I still have my doubts on whether the wife would be happy for me to spend upward of $700 just to play a new GT....

So by the look of things, realistically, I think I am stuck with PC3 for at least 6 month....

I need to be a very very good boy if I want to get the GT7 and the PS5 ( unless it can be played on PS4), which either way ain't gonna happen because I am always on the naughty list...

GT7 do looks nice but never really like the weird mix of car classes in GT games, my first experience with GT was GT6 and getting into late game races with race cars seeing SLS GT3 going against LMP900 and GT500 cars was weird for me. I always like that pCARS has mostly realistic classing for these cars, FM7 still do fairly weird classing for most of the race cars.

well in gt7 there is no difference with Gt3 cars against Porsche 917K

yea, I notice that and it seems like they balance the game by BHP. The usual GT3 is almost 600BHP, the 917k has 600BHP I think and Mclaren F1 GTR is around 600 BHP as well. Really weird to see them all in the same class considering the weight difference and different eras of tyres.

It is confirmed it will be both Groups and N Categories alongside classic PP Points... And it is more classic GT title so you can probably upgrade cars so yeah... I expect to see open class races with all stuff that there is in this game.

But there were some career events in GT5 with only one category of cars. We should wait and see.

Are there any news about PCars 3? I hoped that they will make some reveals to counter GT7 reveal.

GT7 hasn't impressed me yet, nice to see GT mode return. But the car sound has been ripped straight from F1 2011, the steering movements look terrible as usual, the AI looks like its still on rails, the menu sound effects are arcadey AF, and whats with the big red sign that pops up saying brake, bruh so arcadey. Dont like the direction this is taking.

I don't mind mix era of cars when it comes to road cars, pCARS 2 has the Mclaren F1 at a much lower class compared to where other games usually placed that car. But when it comes to race cars, I prefer it to have matching eras and especially the game has sufficient amount of cars to make it a proper class (unlike the odd Mustang and Diablo GTR in pCARS 2).

I really enjoy GT6 last time, just not a fan of the weird mix of race cars as 1 class.

Nothing new but pCARS 3 social media seems to be posting bits and pieces of info that was discussed in interview articles. This is the latest one:

I wish the game developers stop playing hide and seek...

The two games aren't going to be released exactly at the same moment.... For this reason, I suspect most of us will get both games.

If they were going to be released at the same time, I would see the justification for them to do the "one-up" game...

But at this point, SMS should just reveal everything they got, so that we can be hyped and buy PC3 this summer...

PD was smart in not revealing too much, and with this lack of info on GT, there is nothing SMS should worry about.

Each game is on their own...

GT7 will be for Holiday 2020 at the earliest, if not most likely 2021... So there is almost no competition between the two...

still no point to dump all the info out now when they can use it to build hype, it is all part of the marketing plan to drip feed info to keep fans excited.

Yeah and I'm pretty sure they are under a much stricter NDA since becoming part of Codemasters

The more I look on screen shot above, the more I see NFS. GT 7 was good looking, especially on environment side, because Sport kinda was impressive only in terms of cars. Need For Speed got it all balanced, nice cars looks, nice background, so do Project Cars. Think, that Project Cars looks so nice is a result of working on EA games, and how third looks like now too. For me it's a good sign, always wanted serious game in Need For Speed approach, as close as ProStreet and Shift was.

If I wasn't fan of a Porsche, may be I had different look on all this, but this unfortunate circumstances in past years made me interested in NFS more and play it more, instead of GT.

The thought of this title is growing on me, even with just a little information so far. GT7 doesn’t look all that enticing, and if they continue with the non-linear throttle, the poor clutch implementation, limited customization and options, the wack AI and obligatory grinding it’s a definite pass. Plus I’m in no rush to get a PS5 and who knows what wheels will be compatible.

PC3 seems like a great end of console generation title. I didn’t get PC1 until right before PC2, and purchased PC2 a few months after release and I really enjoyed it. Though on the surface PC3 looks like an arcade title like Grid and NFS, I believe the developers when they say it’s got all the same sim-goodness of PC1 and 2. It could wind up being my favorite of the three. Who knows.

My intention was to buy all three of the new racing games but, unless something changes I may not purchase GT7. I saw a breakdown of the physics, based on AI car positioning in the trailer, and it was said it’s no different from GTS and the AI are dumb. Obviously, that can change over time

anyway, back to this game. I posted this in another thread that Ill post here as well

The sense of speed looks more legit in PC3 now. In PC2 it was only decent in cockpit view but they definitely adjusted it for this game.
