Karts are not particularly extra difficult with my DS4 settings, by comparison to what I expect it would be like with a wheel. I completed that tier along with the rest in the career mode.

Glancing at the new screenshots for the FnF game SMS made, I hope the arrangements made for these cars includes featuring them in PCARS3... :)

And it would be great to get to build these from scratch next time...

It won't be. Don't even hope for that level of customization, I think Shift is the best example how it will look.

I guess it is just rims customisation for pCARS 3, I doubt we will get anything more than that and the "works kit" upgrade. Maybe you can buy a P1 in career and upgrade it to a P1 GTR.

You posted it yourself and this sounds like Tuning like in Shift 2 to me...

But SHIFT 2 might have more visual customisation, some cars has a stage 1 and 2 aerodynamic kit while some others is just a works conversion. The info SMS given so far it sounds like pCARS 3 is just doing the "works kit" style upgrade when the car crosses to another class it gets converted and you don't have a choice of aerodynamic package upgrade when it is in the same class like SHIFT 2.

Chikane_GTR initial comment was comparing it to NFS which has far more extensive visual customisation for most car except the variant cars like P1 GTR will just get rim customisation and a livery editor in NFS. I'm guessing cars like the P1 GTR is likely to get same amount of customistion in pCARS 3.

I think even less. Livery editor probably won't be as complex as in NFS Heat.

I mean the customisation is never gonna reach NFS levels, that game has no equal in its capability.

I'd expect it to be along the lines of Forza (minus the livery editor and swaps).

Mind you, with the livery editor, if you look at the trailer, all the hallmarks of a pretty in depth editor are there. The Merc race car has fictional sponsors for example. I mean they could be presets with simple colour adjustments but who knows.

Not sure is the AMG GT3 is made in the livery editor and SMS always use fake sponsors for extra liveries as long the manufacturer allows it. The few livery I made for pCARS 1 and 2 back then are mostly fictional decal as well.

It could be just presets and decal slots but I hope they could get it up to SHIFT 2 style livery editor.

Not sure i like that i mean your removing the p1 gtr :(
And dressing up a normal p1 to look like the gtr doesn't make it a gtr :yuck::indiff:

For sample in nfs you can customize the normal p1 to look like the gtr but ITS NOT 👍

Something I wish Gran Turismo would have. I like the standard liveries on some of the cars and would like to change the colors and leave all the stickers/decals as is.

I don't think it will be removed, likely it is a pathway for the car to go in career mode. I remember one of the interviews or article mention the player have a choice to upgrade the car to a specific spec or just straight up buy one in the car shop. Pretty sure the AMG GT3 is still a separate car from the AMG GTR in game.

I don't think the P1 parts in NFS are the same as the P1 GTR, they look close enough but quite different if I remember correctly.

This would be a simple but good enough idea for me. Takes a bit off the "visual boredom" and it's accessible to anyone (read people like me who can barely draw a match :D ).

Just catching up!

I'm not sure why they'd remove the karts and their associated tracks, or any current PC2 content really (RX?). Surely using something you've already created doesn't stop development on new stuff. Give the handling a tweak and add a shifter kart back in, way to go. Perhaps not everyone uses them but if they are included it all adds to what you can try. And would certainly add to the headline grabbing track count.

Unless... they have a karting game planned! ;)

Why? They were utterly terrible.

The kart circuits are what I'd really miss. Especially if we're going to be getting new "kart-like" roadcars like the AE86 or a proper MX-5.

I barely touched the Karts. Actually, I think karts should have their own game as they should have a dedicated physics engine.

I recall something i pcars forums mentioning they were more or less "made to work" and SMS engine was not really ready to this particular machines.

Physics engine apart, i'd say the worked need to do the tracks alone is probably not worth it from an investment point of view since it is probably even more a niche than sim racing... no?

I actually liked the Rallycross but again... does it make sense NOW? I hope so but i wouldn't be surprised if they moved this to DIRT 5 as it makes more sense there

PS: and would made me probably buy a DIRT game for the first time if physics are in place.

I will not loose any sleep or complain at all if the ice circuits are removed. Personally I do not really use the rally circuits or rally cars so if they were to be axed - so be it. With that being said I do believe quite a few people enjoy them. I could also for the most part care less about rain and snow. With that being said can see how it gives some people a deeper perhaps more life like experience and or different things to master. I like the dawn to morning and day to dusk transitions but not overly excited about racing in complete darkness. The blinding sun and or heavy fog adds depth to the races. If a game wants to be cover most motorsports that's fine if they can do a decent and perhaps even good job at it. If PC3 or something else was more like TOCA it would peak my interest.

In the end as long as we will be able to turn off some of the pop up messages like perfect corner, clean pass or whatever and not dumb the pysics down to much - should be good at least to give it a try.

SMS Online Marketing Director spoke about pCARS 3 in pCARS forum. We are still early on the marketing stuff, still the same message that everything that hardcore sim player wanted is still there. Also it sounds like next gen pCARS is in early productions:

Hi Jav,

Put simply, we'll beat Forza and other sims simply because we've been building this game to release just before next-gen. The rest have moved onto next-gen, while we're pulling the best out of current gen. (I can't talk about what we've already been doing for next-gen unfortunately), but let's just say we're not sitting with our feet up.

I'd also say this, we're early in our marketing campaign for PC3. We've revealed very little. You have no idea on the Features we're bringing. Trust me and quote me on this - this is the racer that everybody wants, but may not know it yet. And by everybody, I mean everybody. From the hardcore sim racer, oldschool, been here from Day 1 - to the beginner. We've built it that way. It's quite special what the team have achieved.

So my advice is to sit back, keep your eyes on our social media, and enjoy the ride in your favourite car my friend.

I agree... If something is already there, why go through the trouble of removing it....
why bother subtracting... Just leave things as they are until you have the resources to update.

It's not terribly terrible, and still fun...

Now that's what i want to hear a next gen project cars :D

Of course i'm still gonna enjoy pcars 3 even if its current gen.

With F1 2020 releasing on July 10th, Fast & Furious on August 7th and DiRT 5 on October 9th, I think that September 11th would make sense for Project CARS 3.
