A sort of GT-/Forza-like experience, but with much more realistic handling physics than GT-/Forza-style physics (if it is like PCARS2, it is not a close comparison) and PCARS content and features. Dynamic+seasonal weather on every one of an exceptional spread of tracks, for one example.

Part of the "fun" here is that its handling model should be far superior to GT/Forza. Handling is the whole reason I play sims; the main reason I even bought a Playstation. Pitstops are just a gameplay mechanic and classes are just arrangements of cars. I don't prefer what SMS has done with those things, but being able to buy, paint, customize, and upgrade cars in a sim with Project-CARS-caliber physics is paramount.

Handling is the backbone of the whole gameplay experience from "Start Race" to "Return to Menu".

I generally agree. Handling physics are a key component for me as well. But right up there with handling is some sort of realism when it comes to what cars race with each other and that's what I can't wrap my head around as to why SMS chose to go this direction. At least with Forza having SO many classes it allows them to get some of them right. Historics race with other historics, somewhat modern race cars race with other somewhat race cars.

I watched that class reveal video last night and just kept shaking my head as each race class was revealed.

The customize, paint, and upgrade stuff I would never touch. I've never done a pitstop in any other game outside of a F1 game so I didn't miss that being omitted. I've never ran a race in the rain so tire choice wouldn't really factor in for me although in PC2 I didn't change to the faster compounds for my shorter races. So one thing they added and they say is going to be a big part of the new game, I don't care for. Two things they deleted from the old game, I don't care for. But the class mix, I care a great deal about.

If I didn't care about career can I take any car on any track in a mode at all? Or do I have to grind for a month to buy the race cars?
Not 100% sure but in custom race mode you can drive any car in its stock form on any track.

But to buy and upgrade cars you need to own them and you can only buy cars by doing career mode. Of course once you own a car you can upgrade it and use it in any of the modes it be career/online/custom.

I think that's how it works.:)

No grinding required. Any car any track.

You might can test drive any car on any track but to put it in a race you have to grind to own it first, is that correct? Because in that video tons of cars were behind a lock that said "driver level X required" or something like that.

You're saying that you HAVE to do career mode in order to own cars? That can't be right.

The menu header in the video is "Showroom". It's not the car selection screen for single races or online races.

You do have to unlock and purchase cars to own them (to upgrade and customize them), but you do not have to buy them to drive them (or so we've been told) and you do not have to play the career mode to earn XP or credits either.

Ian Bell just earesed his Twitter account this afternoon...
Don't see hem here around anymore with his marketing talks.

Strange behaviour from someone that said it a "pure simulator" under the hood...:odd:

He's no longer SMS so i imagine he deleted it because it was SMS related...

On his account his description said "CEO of slightly Mad studios" and "executive director of Codemasters"

So i presume he's still the big boss of slightly Mad studios, that now forms part of the Codemaster division

His son Nathan is SMS related and didn't earese his Twitter account

That's probably because it's his personal account...

Lowest common denominator of online racing. I haven't seen any video yet showing how penalties work.

Surely this isn't the first time you've seen a racing game with such a wall? :)

Yeah and it's one of the things that made pCARS so much nicer than the rest to me. Was just an observation, if a slightly snarky one. :)

Edit: I'm kind of surprised that I was surprised by it, actually.

More new gameplay wonder if this guy has the full game already cause he's uploading way more then what was allow in the preview copies.

EDIT- Also i didn't see helmet cam? i only saw the normal interior view?

And i hope you can adjust the viewing height in interior view cause that's way to low for my taste.

The last game had a whole host of camera adjustment options so I would imagine there are many adjustments available for camera views in PC3 too.

As for the footage above, the gameplay looks fine and the backfire sounds in the tunnel are glorious. My only problem is the lack of "full send". :P

The last game had a whole host of other stuff that we already know isn't in this one. Just, y'know, an observation...

His videos are from back when we had an access to preview build. And looking at his setup (I'm 99.9% sure who is he, unless two people on this Planet share excatly the same setup) he's uploading videos to second non-popular channel to 1. gain subs and 2. avoid accusations of braking NDA.

Generally positive.

Truth is, the only verdict that count for me will be myself trying it.
Youtuber GamerMuscle thinks it's better than GT and Forza on a pad.
It’s still one of the main concerns I have after pCARS 1 and 2. A demo would certainly help alleviate it.

Any word on custom championships?

And Codemasters site.

Anyone knows when sony lets you preload a digital a game? I'm asking cause its the first time i pre ordered a digital game so i have no experience with this and i wanna make sure i can play it the second it unlocks.

See, it's not so much that I object to a fun driving game, I am very concerned though. And maybe still bitter and hostile about the whole turn away from what I feel was a really great motorsport sim.

I can’t get bitter and definitely not hostile over a video game but I can raise an eyebrow over certain decisions they’ve made.

An article snippet from a very large gaming media source has me raising two eyebrows.

“I took a road-going Supra, a Group 44 Jaguar and a Group C Nissan R89C on a back-to-back track test, and they all felt eerily alike, be that on pad or on a wheel - get into trouble with any of them and it's remedied with the same dose of heavy right foot and a dash of opposite lock, suggesting that the sense of individual character for each car has been lost somewhere.”

I will be buying on Steam and if I feel what’s described above it’ll be refunded.

It should show you a date when download will start, if you put the icon on screen. I have never preordered, but saw a lot of people, including with PC3, showing screenshots of it.
