I know its a racing game and not about the road cars, but if there were a convertible jaguar f type v6 or 8, I don't know what I would do with myself. Like life changing moment.

If only Ruf would refurbish some of Porsche's older models, a la the Eagle E-types or the modern Delorean Motor Company...like the 944, 914/6, or 928. If Dauer was still around, they could license the 962 Le Mans to SMS:

Not sure on Super GT, only rumors surrounding the GT500 Skyline. But theres a BMW 3 series and Ford Focus based on the BTCC rules coming. As well as rumors on some late 90s super touring cars.
Cheers for the reply, that is some fantastic news! I hope we see some Honda racecars in here too. Any word on new manufactures? I love the list so far. The sounds that they accompany with each car are outstanding as well.

So is Nissan officially out? They seem quite absent from the list of cars and projects being worked on.

No, just because there is no news doesnt mean Nissan (or any other manufacturer) is out. During licensing negotiations, there are truckloads of NDAs at play, so SMS cant talk about how far the talks are progressed or show the work, if they are already working on the respective cars.

If there still isnt any word on your favorite manufacturer in September/October/November, then you can start to be worried. :D

Well I asked because they appeared on a few of the car maps, but now the car maps have very obvious... censor bars(?)... that make it seem like some things got the axe.

After I asked the question I read around the forums and it seems that Nissan being out is certainly not the case. The only questions seem to be: Is Chevy, Aston Martin and Lotus joining them? Maserati seems to be thrown around a bit, too, but I don't know why.

Will Chevy, Aston Martin and Lotus be included?
What other mysterious makes of car will appear?
Find out on the next episode of Dragon Ball Z!

I think Peugeot should be next to join. You can't have an Audi LMP without a Peugeot! ;) Besides, the 905 could fill the gap between the Renault and the V12LMR. That Sauber C9 look little lonley.

Is there actually any info about Ferrari licensing? I would love to see the 458 GT3 in PCars.

We've said it a few times. It's very, very unlikely that we will get Ferrari licensing, partly because they are refusing to play ball, but mainly because they are going to be very expensive to license. Unless you are willing to pay for the license (which still can't legally happen because SMS are not able to accept any more non-investment), I can't see it happening.

Thanks for the info. Do you see any realistic chance for a Ferrari paid DLC pack at some point after release?

Now that's a more interesting question. It will depend on three things - one, how the game sells; two whether SMS would be willing to reinvest their profits in a DLC pack that may not sell; and finally how much it would cost for the license. The devs are intending to support the game for 2-3 years with new DLC tracks and cars (please bear in mind that when I say DLC, I don't mean paid for DLC; the devs hate it just as much as we do, so not every pack will cost). Whether we would see it for pCARS 2 is another matter. That is more likely, in all honesty.

I agree, and to be honest, it doesn't bother me that much. I can take or leave Ferrari, I'd rather have the Vipers or more BTCC cars.

Thanks for the insights. For me Ferrari is a nice to have but definitely not something that would be a deal breaker. However, I would buy a paid DLC if it would ever be realized.

Honestly your best bet for Ferrari (and more licences in general) is that Project CARS sells very well and from that in one way or another the budget for pCARS 2 is much higher. That's not to say they won't be able to get more people on board with a small budget but obviously the bigger it is the more you can do.

Also if it sells like hot cakes and has a large following, wouldn't that be an incentive for Ferrari to have their product represented? I'm happy with the 12C GT3, to me that is the coolest GT3 machine of the lot, but I would still love to drive a Ferrari GT car :)

That is also the other possibility, yes. With some of the licenses we have already it was the manufacturer approaching SMS and wanting their marque in the game.

That's kind of sad to hear. I like my Italian cars. Since Ferrari is being difficult about licensing (again), have SMS tried talking to The Trident or The Raging Bull? Very good cars (probably better than Ferrari) to put in the game too.

P.S - If you don't mind me asking out of curiosity, are you also a WMD member?

We don't know who they're talking to until they're announced. With the nature of licensing SMS can't just come on the forum and say "Yeah, we're speaking to Lambo" or whatever. It's all done in private until finalised.
