Warpengage, yes I am a member of the crowd funding, but not a member of the Dev team.

I think they had approached lambo, but they were being difficult too. Price, as ever, was one point, but as Samus said, nothing's concrete.

We don't know who they're talking to until they're announced. With the nature of licensing SMS can't just come on the forum and say "Yeah, we're speaking to Lambo" or whatever. It's all done in private until finalised.

I know this. My question was not about any official announcements, as those will come when SMS can/sees fit. I was asking more in the context of hearsay among WMD members. Anything they may be talking about that they can share.

Fingers crossed for a nice deal. Forget Ferrari for the moment.

No that's what I'm saying, even privately in the forum SMS do not tell us what licenses are potentially in the mix, not even a hint. there is a private sub-forum for Senior Managers but even if they were told about anything, they wouldn't release the info outside of there, it's a super private forum for a reason.

You still misunderstand slightly, perhaps the way I phrased it was not the best. I know that there are many things in the private forums that are off-limits for discussion outside WMD. I'm not asking for any of that, nor do I want a WMD member to risk himself by breaking an NDA. The kind of information I was asking about was "tidbits" that project insiders sometimes share, like, for example, the RUF CTR-3 GT1. That car hasn't been announced anywhere in the WMD site as far publicly visible areas are concerned. The first time I heard about the car coming to pCars was over here in this site. This kind of information, that is okay to be shared, is what I was looking for.

I hope this game delivers and that this series has a long, successful career. The car list will only continue to expand! :)

Same here.

I'm overwhelmed, having just looked at the track list and now the cars. I'm pretty excited, it's actually ridiculous that I'm already planning which car I'll take to what track first.
I haven't had this much anticipation for a game since the wait for GT5. I've never raced a full on sim before, the closest I've come to driving a sim has been the GT series, so hopefully I'm not complete pants and have my illusions shattered :dunce:

Wait. Where's the Audi DTM??? I KNOW I saw screenshots of it and it's nowhere on the list. Not even the removed list.
It was called the Asano X4 DTM

You are right. The situation with that one is still unclear, as of now, so I chose to not include it in any status until we know whats up.

I've just spotted Chevrolet & Aston Martin cars on a car list http://www.playstationtrophies.org/forum/project-cars/223544-project-cars-car-track-list.html
Aston Martin: (Planned to include in the game but unconfirmed for now)
2012 Vantage GT4
2009 DBR1-2
Caper (Chevrolet): (Planned to include in the game but unconfirmed for now, StockCar is there though)
2014 C7 Corvette Stingray
2010 Camaro GS.R
2013 Corvette C6.R GT2
2012 Cruze 1.6T WTCC
1990 Caper Monterey StockCar (Chevrolet Lumina NASCAR)

The Monterey is not a Lumina, it is in the same vain, but entirely fictional.

For the others, we simply dont know. Dunno why wicken felt the need to post that. :odd:

Don't get me wrong, I know that the GT3 class has always been SimBin/SMS raison d'atre, along with the LMP cars, I just wish they had spent a little more time and depth on the touring car side of things.

We cant know the reason, so I will just mention a bunch of hypothetical reasons:

- $$$
- licensing terms (for example Nascar might only be willing to give the license for the whole series with all cars & tracks?)
- long term plans differing from the initial design
- limited developer time at the moment
- somebody lost the phone number of the Nascar office

etc etc etc

Things are not always as easy and straightforward as they seem to be in game development and licensing negotiations. "The other company got the license, so they should too!" doesnt always apply.

Around 75 is the target, last I checked, and they should be somewhere round there with the current list + current WIP.
This saddens me. I've counted way more than 75. That means that SMS may have bitten off more than they could chew and may have to either scrap them or add them at a later date. Sounds too familiar.

Where? Things like this list:

  • Aston Martin DBR9
  • Tyrell P34
  • 1982 Nissan KRD30 Super Silhouette
  • 1989 Nissan GTP ZX-T or 1990 NPT-90
  • 1990 Nissan R90CK
  • 1990 Nissan Skyline GT-R R32 Group A
  • 1994 Nissan 300ZX IMSA GTS
  • 1999 Nissan Primera BTCC
  • 2003 Nissan Skyline GT-R R43 Gt500
  • 2014 Nissan ZEOD
  • 2013 Nissan Altima V8 Supercar
  • 2013 Nissan 370Z GT4
  • 2013 Nissan GTR GT3
  • Lola T96/00 and/or Reynard 96i lookalikes
  • USAC Focus Midget lookalike
Have never been confirmed to be in the works at all, they were mostly just what they'd like to do or ideas from the community a dev has said 'That'd be great if we could do that' at some point'. So with those it's not a case of biting off more than they could chew, simply that their hopes haven't come true, that we know of.

75 is a very healthy number for a game of this type and budget. There is plenty for everyone.

I think 75 is pretty fantastic, based on the fact that they are all mostly awesome and not just fillers like some other games, and they are all really detailed and a lot of work has gone in to the handling.

I know those cars were never confirmed. I reached over 75 before I even got to those cars.

Ok well a lot of the cars with (Not Yet Started) next to them were always planned to be done at a later date and added as DLC. They always knew they wouldn't have enough time to get everything they licensed done in time, so they decided which were the best priority and saved the rest to start post-release.

By the way 75 is just the last target figure I remember reading, it could well be higher now, I'm not sure.

So it's not all doom and gloom then; I'm just not in the loop. 👍 Man, I've been playing GT6 too much.

75 well modeled cars coupled with the enormous number of real world and fantasy tracks in the game is more than enough for me as well. I'm more interested in the physics, feedback from the wheel, good graphics and a good game. Sheer numbers mean nothing without the basics being handled well.
