Would we get it on consoles, or have to wait for PCars #2?
 I only said hope:dopey:. Meaning it's been done once before, maybe SMS will do it, but I have no indication either way, just that it's theoretically possible they might adopt a mod or two if they can work out the licensing of course.

From what I've read...you can do what you want with the game, but it won't be supported for multiplayer, which immediately kills any interest in third-party DLC unfortunately. If that changes, I'd be down to support a few, high-quality mods. I don't like half efforts.

If someone can deliver a 100% quality mod I'd definitely take a look. The stuff I've tried from AC has varied immensely in quality.

Mods can be used in MP if every player has the same mod installed. SMS does not endorse nor prohibit modding, they just have left the door open and will not take measures against it. To turn HQ Mods into official content, it has to be licensed by SMS ofc. Given the popularity of the game its safe to say that we will be seeing quite a bit of mods coming in the future.

Its ripped from AC i believe.

There's also a Scion FRS below the Sauber, an EVO VI Tommi Makinen Edition below the EVO X, RUF Yellowbird below the Megane RS, RUF RT12 R above the Sauber. Where did you find this folder?

Well, when I tried the Mod of the Pagani Zonda R Evolution (I pretty sure you heard about it - it's the VERY first mod).
In order to add this car to the game, I had to use "Unpack" method. The "Unpacking" gives me this new folder.

View attachment 411669 I know it's sounds weird, but might the Toyota license be in the game, as the TS040 Hybrid?

Audi e-tron vs Toyota in a game? This is the best thing I've heard about this game yet!!!!!!!!!!

I even tried to add this car from my experience...and I got the TS040 under Prototype menu with Toyota's logo.
(Of course, the game stops with an error because there is no finished car. BUT ALL THE SPEC IS TRUE!)

Good spot! It would seem that the previously leaked season pass list is exactly what we're getting for the first year of dlc! Awesome stuff :) I hope the GT86 is the VLN racer as opposed to the road car. Looks like they've got the original Hachi in there too, hopefully in N2 guise as well - that'll make an awesome one make series, especially on the smaller, twistier tracks like Cadwell! Bring it on :D

Time to update the OP?

No, because those are mods. There are no individual folders for cars anywhere in the game folder (each car's files are recognized by the game by name, not folder...

I don't think they're mods - they seem to be folders in the base game that are hidden until the game is unpacked if I'm understanding correctly? I.e they're sitting there until the dlc is released by SMS?

I checked every folder inside my game's main one and there are two regarding the cars:

This is the folder where the car's files are and as you can see they refer to each car by their names, all sitting inside a single folder;

pcars2.png

And this one is where you can find the custom livery files for the cars that allow you to use them (again each car's files are identified by name, all sitting inside that single "CustomLiveries" folder).

Also, a for future DLCs just waiting to be unlocked, you can see in the first image that there are a few new Audi files (90 IMSA GTO, A1 quattro, R8 LMP900) which most likely are part of the next DLC (along with the R18 e-tron quattro whose files are also in there).

I don't know man, I'm just interpreting what's written above. It'll take someone with more knowledge of the game to say which one of us is correct.

Well there was a question on a czech gaming website which got answered by one of the SMS artists. It was about whether Japanese cars will come as dlc and the answer was yes. I find it hard to believe that the one Mitsubishi which is expected to come would be meant by this answer. Furthermore, the leaked season pass contained also Toyota&Mitsubishi Macau or whatever which hints the presence of Toyota.
