All this talk of PC components and Logitech wheels is ruining this thread. We have other treads in this sub forum for that stuff and entire sections for discussing PC components and builds.

This thread is supposed to be about Project Cars and it's been so polluted with the same discussions over and over about wheel compatability and PC builds that it's getting frustrating. Please discuss that stuff where it belongs. May I suggest:

Sim Racing Hardware
Computers and Technology
Or even in this sub forum:
Conundrum

Seems like many have paid no attention to your excellent post above.

Please people keep the thread on topic

Sorry about that. My wife keeps telling me I have to get last word in. Haha. Maybe she's right. I'll make sure my comments find the their correct forum. My apologies

So, having visited quite a lot of my other forums, I have good news(in a way)...

Since the Wii U is being shafted in regard to 3rd party developers and their hesitancy to break the 'Nintendo hierarchy' that owners are only buying Nintendo games, 2 'active' schemes are being started to get 3rd party games to sell over 1 million, specifically 2 games are the focal point for the campaign:

  • Bayonetta 2
  • Project CARS
The delay hasn't affected interest at all(within the communities I visit anyway), so I hope that SMS still put in all the effort they can. They will have the backing of the concentrated userbase the U has on offer. :D

The wii u opens up possibilties that the other consoles don't provide. Such as regions and potential sales

8xx builds start next week, so unless they can release 100 builds a month, we'll get this game finished in mid March 2015 or not even in a 9xx build condition by November

I would like to apologize for Sparking Some Life Into this thread (To Be Honest, It's Not Like there was a Whole Lot Going On Here!!), I don’t think anyone was attempting to just have hardware discussions just for the heck of it, Everything that was discussed here was specific for RUNNING PROJECT CARS OPTIMALLY.

The Thread is called Project CARS [Coming 2014] PC, PS4, Wii U, Xbox One

Everything that was discussed was directly related to running Project Cars, And to be fair, there is Also a “The Project CARS Video Thread”, But that doesn’t stop people from posting videos on this Thread and I don’t see anyone complaining about that.

Obviously Getting the Most out of PROJECT CARS IS IMPORTANT TO THE COMMUNITY ASSISTED RACING FANS or the discussion would have never taken off.

No need to get defensive.

I'll grant you that asking what specifications are required does somewhat fall in the the category of what this thread is about, however getting in to large, in depth conversations about different components, brands and prices is not, and neither is discussion about wheel compatability. That is for another thread entirely as it has nothing to do with Project Cars except that Project Cars is affected by it (along with other games).

Let's move on.

We don't know yet if graphical alterations like that is allowed by Sony and MS, we shall have to wait and see. Definitely any alterations in the fidelity section of the settings are banned on the consoles, we shall have to wait an see for the effects part.

I hope we can disable motion blur. Have never liked that affect. I noticed it in the demo videos at gamescom on ps4. It's very distracting. I have asked that question before and I can't remember who responded or where but that said yes. But that could have been anybody.

Most game will let you enable/disable certain thing a la motion blur. But sliders for graphical fidelity is most likely a no go.

Thanks for the quick response. I guess will have to wait and see. But if you happen to run across this question and get a definite answer, keep me in mind and hit me back. Thanks again

The graphics on consoles will be locked most likely to ensure the 60fps at its best settings .
The only reason why PC has options is that one size does not fit all.
However motion blur and helmet cam will most likely be adjustable aswell

That's good to here.

Over the last few weeks it seems like I've gained around 15-20 fps on most tracks. I guess track optimization is the main cause: tweaking and tuning objects so that the graphics engine has less work to do.

Nice. Does anybody play this game with an R9 280x? I want to know how the game performs with that card in the actual build on an single screen in Full HD :D

It should perform well. The engine is really astonishing to be honest. nVidia cards will have PhysX support though, which your R9 can't support.

I just went to Carrefour in Spain and they had pre-paid cards to pre-order Project CARS. Normal until here except for one thing.... the card listed 18/11/14 as the release date. I know that retailers get the release date earlier so this could be it. Could be a placeholder though.

The implementation of PhysX in pCARS is cpu-based, to avoid hardware-specific issues. It's part of the reason why Mantle is unlikely to be in release.
