Which is cool, but for certain cars it would be nice to adjust the ABS and TCS on the fly as well, just as you can in reality (GT3 cars for example).

ABS settings being adjustable in set-up for all cars would be cool, as would being able to fully map the diff for cars with an electronically controlled diff (as you could in Richard Burns Rally), but that's getting uber-geeky.

The question is: What exactly is going to be changed if in a GT3 Car you set ABS to 3 or TC to 6? In my mind these are presets for changes to the actual physical systems (Steering/Suspension/Brakes/LSD/ARB) of that car.

Nope (and I speak from experience - twenty year in the motor industry), both ABS and TCS are electronically controlled active systems, as such the degree of application and point of application can be controlled electronically.

That the electronic 'brains' then control the physical systems is a moot point, the electronics still determine when and by how much the intervention is.

These are both systems that is some race spec cars can be varied (in terms of the point of intervention) by the driver and not just in terms of on/off, but as a gradual scale.

I know (and i work in the Automotive Industry too) and my question was more about how the car really is affected. But "Application" and "Point of application" is way too fuzzy to describe what these systems/presets are actually doing to the car. It is desireable to have variable driving aids at one point and once the metrics are clear and SMS want to do it, they certainly will :-)

It would work same as it does now, only with more stages. So the TC3 gives you a little bit of oversteer in the dry, but if you do the same thing in the wet, you'll spin out. So you can set it on 7. Or if you're on slicks when it starts to rain, keep it at higher and drop it lower after you switch to rain tires.

I'm not bothered with driving aids in others sims, since they'll all dry, but with Pcars dynamic weather and endurance, this feature can really make it interesting.

It works great in R3E, but with always-dry weather, doesn't come into the full effect.

I´m not a WMD member but I think this are the thing you can enforce enable/disable on online rooms.
If not, someone correct me....

thanks. what does 'skill level' apply to? gamers? AI? I think it'd be nice to see what kind of damage the host has selected; be a good way to filter out potential rammers/idiot drivers as I would think only the more serious drivers would go for damage on.
I think skill level refers to AI skill.

Well as I'm not a WMD member and therefore not bound by any NDA I will post what I found after a quick google search on the subject.

http://www.amazon.de/dp/B00U1SEENA/

25 Euros

Its in German, but translates as:

- Car Pack "Race Icons"
- Expansion "Audi Ruapuna Speedway"
- Car Pack "Old vs. New"
- Expansion "Red Bull Ignition"
- Car Pack "Aston Martin"
- Expansion "Lotus Classics"
- Car Pack "Renault Sport"
- Expansion "Toyota & Mitsubishi Macau"
- Expansion "Ford Oval Racing"

It's worth breaking any NDA to warn the world of another "X car programme":banghead:

If it's not that... we can all sleep easy tonight.

I highly doubt it will have anything to do with the X Cars from PoDi. It's more likely a sponsored "surprise" package we have seen for Forza many times.
