I just saw feature called "Force Realistic Driving Aids" on some image. How does this work? is it just in race settings?

Or is it general tool to force the usage of authentic driving aids on all cars? Like older racing cars cannot use traction control as they did not have it in real life by the time?

Thank you.

That will be a MP Server option for hosts that want to ensure everybody uses the same aids. Another option is to allow/disallow driving aids one by one. Real means that the aids will be switched with respect to what a particular car provides in the real world.

Sounds cool, thanks. So this is just MP exclusive or can I activate it in single player, possibly in career, to make sure I am using the car with authentic aids?

That's excellent, only other title I can recall doing something like this was Enthusia, which gave you to option to use only the driving aids (active vehicle safety features to go all technical) and gearboxs that the real cars had.

Big thumbs up on that one.

Yes, this is an option for your offline races too. Only difference: It will not be enforced on you, you can map buttons for TC/ABS/SC and switch them on the fly.

So the driving aids will be on/off only? This would be my change request, make 10 levels of TC and ABS and have the ability to increase or decrease the level of interference. So in the dry you'd run with 10-20 percent, but in heavy rain increase it to 60-70.

I'm sure that AC and R3E do the same... but of course those aren't console. It's a first I'm sure for that!

I expect they'd want to do this in the way that it is implemented in the real car. Example being, if the car has 10 levels of fine tuning IRL, it would carry that across to the game. But if it's only On/Off, that's how I'd want it to be ingame too.

hey there. i've been hanging around here quite some time (started with gt), especially reading the Pcars news (noadays).
first, thx to all the information coming from users with so much commitment to the title and sim racing per se.

as a ps4 only user, sold my ps3 and gt6 last year :(, im hyped to get my hands on a new sim! driveclub did not satisfy me at all (for the known reasons).
i got myself a new rig, the t300rs plus some shoes and gloves. cant wait to hit the road when april 2nd arrives!!

i might have missed it here, but are there any chances of getting more buttons to use for setting up things on the fly when i do races!? i know i can map a few buttons on my wheel and use the ds4, but it woudl be cool to connect a simple cable keyboard to get more options. thx

Little tease: WMD has got two new members recently. Both are famous, professional, very successful Racing Drivers and they have asked SMS to get access to the game for training purposes and will give feedback in exchange. They are just normal users and NOT under contract with SMS.

WMD Members: please don't give the names away 🤬;) as they may or may not come forward and announce their membership. It's their decision, not ours to make!

Is there anyway to enforce a Real Life sim view for on-line races?

On the previous page we've been speaking about setting up a keyboard for this. There's a device that can connect it up and read as a typical controller. Whether or not the game will then allow you to set up these 'hotkeys' on the PS4 we don't yet know for sure.

thx GTAndy!

the CronusMax is quite expensive. amazon germany dont have it in stock but uk does. 40-50 bucks is.. yeah "heavy" for such a simple device, imo!

That's not what I asked. That is only positional. I'm referring to the viewing angle that provides the closest match to real life as there is.
This cannot and shouldn't be enforced as everyone has a different set up. For instance, I cannot have the perfect FOV, as I only have one screen. I could set it up, but it would be like looking through a bog roll.

Exactly. I'd love to be able to connect my wireless keyboard to the PS4 and have it next to the wheel for extra buttons, but I don't think I will bother if this was the only way to make it work. Keyboards can be connected to the PS4, so it would be a little frustrating to have to get such a device to make the game realise the keyboard is a device usable in game.

Don't be worried about forcing the interia camera. With the ability to adjust field of view and seat postion everyone will get an interia view their comfortable with.

For tcs you can adjust the amount of slip you want to allow. In the setup.

ABS is only ON/OFF atm but you can freely adjust the amount of wheelslip the TC allows from 1% to 100% in the car setup menu.

a simple (maybe powered) usb host device for 15 bucks aint working!? anyway, i do have 2 usb ports, one will be used by the wheel, that leaves me one to connect a keyboard. but when i want to charge my ds4 its getting complicated.

i even consider moding like painting some keys or having some removed to use it as a "switch board" kinda thing. that looks like the tech computer users can hook up. wish there was a possibility to use apps like simspeed on my iphone.

Hooking the keyboard up isn't the problem. The problem is the game reading the keyboard as a device that can be used for these hotkeys that we want. From what I understand, having a wheel, keyboard and DS4 all hooked up at the same time doesn't mean that they can all be used together as one 'control set', which is essentially what we are trying to find out. It's not as simple as a PC. If this was obviously possible, why can't we hook up pedals and wheels separately?

Brake balance and ARB settings can even be changed on the fly.
Which is cool, but for certain cars it would be nice to adjust the ABS and TCS on the fly as well, just as you can in reality (GT3 cars for example).

ABS settings being adjustable in set-up for all cars would be cool, as would being able to fully map the diff for cars with an electronically controlled diff (as you could in Richard Burns Rally), but that's getting uber-geeky.
