The GTE is definitely one of my most eagerly awaited cars. I wonder if they're going to shoe-horn it into GT3 like the older BMW M3 GT. It's definitely the better looking race car even with the GT3 Aston.

I'd be okay with that if we had more cars. The single biggest issue with PCars (personal opinion) is the lack of filled out classes. I'd have preferred fewer classes (heck, even fewer cars) if we had classes more akin to the current GT3.

The ones I can call "filled" or at least diverse would be:
LMP2 (it's borderline)
GT3 (I'd call it "GT Open")
GT4
LMP1
LMP3
Historic Group B Touring
Group A
LMP900 (With Aston Pack it'll have the Aston DBR1-2, BMW V12 LMR, Bentley Speed 8 and Audi R8)

Spec classes are:
TC1
GT5 (as it is based on the Ginetta GT5 cup it seems)
FA
FB
FC
FR
TC3 (DTM...hate licensing issues sometimes)
Stockcar (eh, new and old you could make that excuse)
Group 4 (wasn't it just a BMW M1 Procar class?)

Couldn't agree more on filling out the classes. However IMHO i do feel the GT3 class is more than catered for, and would love for SMS to fill in classes like DTM and WTCC where there is only 1 car per class. If there was, lets say 3/4 cars per class, i would be really happy.

DTM is a no on that...remember somebody else calls dibs on it and we're lucky to get the Merc'. It sucks, but it's limited and to no fault of SMS rather the fault of DTM. Also we're probably getting the Ford Focus BTCC and I wouldn't rule out the Audi BTCC (frequent Facebook page posts on BTCC races suggest this). Also, 1990's GT1 is also limited until we get a Toyota and Nissan license. Porsche obviously never happening.

My feeling is that SMS are laying a groundwork for expansion for all classes. I have a feeling that that orange numberplate on the Aston GTE means something...

It just means that the people making the liveries for the Aston GTE have a great eye for detail (knowing them personally, I know thats a fact).
Give them my kudos, as they're ****ing gorgeous (and that's just going off the 1 and portion of another we've seen).

Probably, which is a shame really as it isn't a GT3 car. Hopefully in the future we might see some of the other GTE cars but that requires licensing of Ferrari and Chevrolet. Porsche is never going to happen so maybe they could make one up like they did for the RUF GT3 car
Wouldn't rule Chevy out completely...they did get their license for the Indycar, so maybe they'll think of giving us the C7.R. Ferrari is just about impossible as they're licenses are as expensive as heck. And who knows...Ford may give us the GT GTE. :D

Curse you Ferrari and your expensive licensing costs!🤬 The Corvette would be a great addition to the game, I just want them to flesh out some of the classes now instead of adding new ones even though some of the cars coming to the game are amazing!

Not sure if it really was Ferrari who asks for so mucho dinero for a license. Wasnt that a rumour about Lamborghini?
Both. Lamborghini is pricey and Ferrari is also pricey. Remember someone aaying last year how the Ferrari license was like 2-3 of the other licenses.

Lamborghini should be doable since it falls under the Volkswagen Automotive Group umbrella. If anything I'd expect a surprise Lambo to pop up. To be fair they don't have a whole ton of race-worthy cars, but a few road cars and a Huaracan GT3 would be nice. Maybe some of the Super Trofeo Huaracans or Gallardos.

RE: Classes

It is a shame the way licensing is handled. It seems that some cars the manufacturer holds license on, while others are held by the series itself (probably something negotiated by the series with the manufacturers). I'd have been vastly more enthused with PCars (which I like a lot) if they'd managed to put together better classes. I agree with the above poster though we have some decent classes. I was just hoping for DLC which would be 4-6 cars from a series every couple of months.

When they took out the Audi DTM I really think they should have dumped the MB DTM (boring car anyway). At minimum I'd like at least four competitive cars. There are some classes where you need to tweak or restrict cars. GT4 is a good example. The Aston and Ginetta are light years ahead of the other cars and the Mustang is way out-classed (despite power). It's a weird class even though I still enjoy racing it.

We have several classes though that need at least 1-2 more cars. TransAm, Group B Touring, the Merc/McLaren group etc.

Trans-Am: This is seemingly being treated like a IMSA GT/SCCA Trans-Am hybrid. So with a GM, Toyota, Mazda and Nissan licenses missing it's...it's bound to be empty.

GT4: The Mustang and Aston Hybrid aren't THAT underpowered. They're still competitive.

FIA GT1: Needs a Toyota and Nissan license. So...sadly we can only get two.

Group B: If you mean historic Group B, it does have 4 cars now. Not bad. :P

Until I see actual proof, I tend to believe this is urban myth. On top of that, I don't think licensing costs are anywhere near as high as what we think they are. Think about PCars for example. They licensed 70 cars and a bunch of tracks on their small budget without a problem. Even if you took half their entire budget, assuming $7M, that's around $40k/car or track. Ferrari has appeared in many games including Assetto Corsa which has only sold in the neighbourhood of 300k copies.

I think the license costs are only high when they sell as a collective franchaise ,Like EA`s license on the English Premier League ,Same with Nascar NBA NFL it gets sold as the complete package or not at all

Tracks and cars licences can be sold individually so naturally there price wont be high

I'd like to think that Ferrari would be most welcome to PCARS to advertise their cars! Obviously that's not the case!

I'm sure they're quite welcome but there are many manufacturers missing from PCars for a reason - money. Limited budget and all that. We'll see what happens with PCars2 but I don't expect a GT or Forza size lineup any time soon.

The Aston is a little too fast for these cars. Looking at the physics tracker in WMD, the Aston uses the same tires as the R18 TDI and the fictional LMP1 cars. It also qualified at a respectable 3:26 in 2010 (close to the R18's 2011 qualifying time). I'd expect it to be in the modern LMP1 class.

Personally if they are adding this car I'd like to think they are going to be adding more as it doesn't fit anywhere and we already have the Aston GT3 car. Don't forget this game is going to be out like 3 years before Project Cars 2 is released so I would assume there are plenty of DLC's to come.
