Try again with pics from a real Pcars PS3 version.

Well, considering that none of us have access to pCARS on a PS3 dev kit, that might be difficult. The best anyone can do is guess some specs on their PC that might be a similar graphical level to the PS3.

What has actually been done, and it looked pretty good. But I doubt you'll accept that either so I won't waste my time finding them.

I'm well aware of this. :dopey:

I think this game is worth buying a Playstation 4 to start your next-gen game collection. I know I'll be buying a PS4 for this game. It looks amazing. 👍

Well, my brother is getting the PS4, so I might as well :)

I am going to get a free PC version as I joined the project but I think I will get a PS4 copy as well. :)

Although even that might not be needed as I plan on paying into the PS4 project as well.

I don't get how when the view switches to the sight of the driver, why does the lens flare still appear? I'm sure I don't see lens flare like that when I'm walking about, it would be like I'm living in a J. J. Abrams movie.

I think lighting/HDR effects in most games are over-exaggerated, especially when going from dark to light and vice versa. The human eye has a very wide dynamic range, but what games try to simulate is a very limited range, much more like the dynamic range of a camera. E.g. I drive through a tunnel to and from work every day, and at the exit, my eyes have no trouble at all to see clearly both in and outside of the tunnel. There is the effect of your pupils going from wide to narrow on exit, but it's not like you're blinded by staring directly into the sun, which a lot of games appear to think. In reality, the effect is very subtle. The same goes for other effects, like lens flare. In reality, it would be more subtle, or in most case (like you pointed out) not present at all.

I decided to get my G25 down from the attic today and have a go with it on pCARS. Surprisingly, it was a lot more enjoyable to drive with default FFB settings than my Fanatec GT2. The forces just seemed more believable and communicative.

Now I know it's possible to tweak the FFB in all kinds of ways, but for a quick half hour trying out a latest build Logitech seems to me to be by far the easier option.

There are 2 sets of sun flare (exterior/interior view) and 5 settings for each (full/subtle/minimal/chroma/none). In the video it's probably "full" ; i use "minimal" in cockpit view and it's great !

Gosh I want to build a new gaming rig just to play this, I bet it won't look no where near as beautiful on PS3 or even PS4. Monaco looks amazing, are they doing Macau? if so I'm sold!

Last I checked Macau was on the official 'to do' list but probably won't be started before the game goes gold. So it'll be DLC, in other words.

Yeah the official line was:

We will add this guys. When is still to be decided, but we will.

That was nearly a year ago though. I don't know if there has been any updates but it hasn't been started that we know of.

Is there a specific date?

No. Contrary to some comments I've seen about dates and "delays" the game has so far not recieved an official, announced release date. The developers have given out rough targets but dates such as "thanksgiving 2013" were never official release dates, they were just rough goalpasts that could always move, and have.

As above the current rough target is early 2014 but again, it's not an official release date.

I know you haven't said it's been delayed but this seemed the best time to clear that up.
