I think (not 100% sure though) there are special events with historic cars planned in the career mode (invitational stuff like Goodwood etc) but those will not take place at the historic tracks. If you think about it, its very logical: The career you are playing is supposed to take place in the 2010s and those tracks simply dont exist anymore... Well, mostly.

Not entirely sure what is planned exactly for the historic stuff, but think of Shift 2s brilliant Legends pack (including its own career spin off) and I assume that it will be something close to that. A mini-career unrelated to the normal career or something.

They should be existing still though, crying shame some of them were altered to the state they are in now. That's an advantage of the virtual world as we can bring them back :D

That would be nice 👍

The formula is very well ballanced.

My dream is a 1970's version of Le Mans.

Speaking of which, how the endurances will be in the career mode?

So, I just recently found out about the new R8 LMS ultra, and I took a look at it, and I found something...off. The rear wing mount for the 2013 version is a swan neck mount, but in-game, this is not the case. Was this a modeling error?

However you want, you can run from 30mins up to the full length (whatever that is; 8h, 12h, 24h), with the option of saving the game mid-race. We will have the ability to have seat changes both offline and online.

Man, this is it. This is a very big thing to me. Endurance races.

Now, I can bear the hype!

So does anyone know why any gaming magazines like game informer, PlayStation magazine, and official Xbox magazine haven't had ANY coverage of this game?

No magazine coverage yet, because the game needs to be submitted to the magazines for them to preview, and the game is not yet in a state for them to preview. The reason why many websites have go tit is because they actually signed up to WMD, or they have been watching youtube.

Can anyone tell me if there will be caution flags and restarts? From what I gathered from pCARS site we'll have full control during pit stops, correct?

Yes, the game will have full flag logic, so it will have single and waved yellow flags, full course yellow with safety car, yellow and red flag, red flag, blue flag, black and orange flag, black and white diagonal flag, and white flag (covering slow moving carn road tracks, and last lap on ovals). You will have the ability to choose the level you want (full, full without DQ, partial, none), both off and online. You will be able to have full control on pit lane driving, but there are issues surrounding that which may have to alter slightly; lack of time being one problem.

This should answer your question:

Q: When will I be able to get my hands on DirectX 12?
A: We are targeting Holiday 2015 games.

From yesterdays announcement. So, if anything, we ll be looking at an update 1 year post-launch.

I have no doubt that the engine will be upgraded to use DX12, I know that SMS are desperate for anything that would balance out the difference between the nVidia and ATi cards. For some reason, they seem reluctant to embrace Mantle, unless Felix knows something I don't.

Audi being on-board is awesome. So buzzing for this game I must admit, Should make a dent in my Mario Kart 8 play-time. :P

Nah, how/why should I? I m not even following the whole engine/driver shennanigans that closely, I just happened to read the DX12 thread while I saw Miles' question, so I quickly answered it. Frankly speaking, I dont even know what exactly Mantle is, since I thankfully dont have no ATI card anymore and dont plan to go back ever. *shudders thinking back to the days trying to make a 7970M work and reliable*

Oops, I just realized that I ordered a PS4 which uses AMD tech... Oh my.

I just thought with you being a manager, you might have access to stuff that I don't.

I do but none of the secret stuff is about DX12. And even if it was, why would I share any of that outside of the manager lounge? My rear end would be toast rather quickly. ;)

At least someone at Sony can go through that experience to make the PS4 work for you instead, Felix. It won't be your headache to deal with. ;)

I'm starting to get into the game, but just one question? I heard this game has a monthly fee from a friend, though I think he just wants me to buy a different game . I'll likely be getting the Wii U version of this game.

No monthly fee, maybe he was thinking of iRacing
That is good. Got another question, will this game be cross-platform online (meaning a Xbox One version can race against a PS4 and Wii U player etc.). Not really a complaint if it is not.

I would like it. It would give versions that won't be sold so well (Wii U for example as a predict) more players to race against.

This isn't down to SMS, the fault lies solely at the door of the console manufacturers. Once upon a time we used to have cross-platform PC and XBox360 games, does anyone know what happened to that?
