That's the kinda person I'm looking for! Is there anyone here that is prepared to give a hint? :D

You too, can you at least hint if it's being discussed on the forum and that there's something in the pipeline?
Maybe a riddle or something with an obvious answer? That way you didn't say it literally ;)

Sure, endanger the project or a user by gaining info a bit earlier. Nice and egoistical mindset.:indiff:
You get info when and as much as we can give. Maybe we are even giving you guys too much as it is.

Well, if you want a riddle here is one: Today Tom will make us another burger. :P
Those on the inside will know what I mean.

Congratulation on the Audi License! Now...

Can we PLEASE add some non German cars to the mix? Like some Italian, American, or Japanese cars?

...
You know, it hadn't quite occurred to me why this car list sits so well with me, in spite of its relatively limited selection and lack of street legal cars.

I like German cars...

You're welcome!

hmm; burger.... big Mac.... Mclaren?
So the Mclaren 650S is coming to PCARS! Thanks for confirming this to us here first Logiforce!

And I haven't even mentioned American cars (like Chevrolet Corvette, Dodge Viper, Ford GT GT3) or Japanese cars (Nissan, Subaru, Toyota, Honda). I would prefer less cars but a more balanced car selection to show better the different car engineering and design philosophies.

*ehem* Go to opening post, scroll down to "unconfirmed" and find a hint for at least one of your gripes possibly solved soon. ;)

I agree though that some bella macchinas from bella Italia would be very welcome. Being a Lancia afficionado myself (and planning to buy a Fulvia from my pCARS profits) I would love to kick some BMW 320 Group 5 🤬 with a Beta Montecarlo and the Alfa 4C would be ace for the country roads too. Also Maserati for the Trofeo and GT3/4. We ll just have to wait and see whats gonna come down the line. Since the head honcho drives a red car from Italy himself and the Dev Director a gorgeous pristine blue Delta Integrale, maybe there is a bit of hope for some italian goodness in pCARS...

 Nice try but nope. A propos McLaren: The P1 is currently built, looking absolutely delicious and will be driveable in the next weeks... Cant wait after seeing Harris hoon it around Yas Marina!

For Italian cars something like the (list of Italian cars) And I haven't even mentioned Ferrari and Lamborghini just to show you can have a lot of interesting Italian cars without even including these two prestigious makers (which may or may not be difficult to license).

Hopefully future announcements will correct this imbalance.

If I can try and answer these in order:

We have long been making requests in the pCARS forum to try and get some Alfas involved, but apart from the 155 Ti DTM, which cars would fit into the game in a racing environment? True, Alfa made some old F1 cars (read 50s), a lot of rally cars and sports cars, but we'd having nothing to put them against. Lancia has the same problem - lots of rally cars, but no circuit-based racing cars. Ferrari and Lamborghini would be nice, and more fitting, but licenses would be hard to come by.

GM and their sections have not yet been ruled out. We don't know what's going on behind the scenes, so we can't comment. The Ford GT GT1/3 is not possible, it wasn't developed by Ford, it was developed Matech - who no longer exist - so the license isn't owned by Ford, but by Martin Bartek. This has been discussed, and investigated. There are plans to include a Japanese manufacturer, and no, I'm not going to say who it is. But when we get them, they are going to fill a few holes.

Finally, we have been told that the manufacturers that we have signed up have not got a complete and final list of licensed cars from them. There may be more cars included from that manuacturer.

I'm hoping for Nissan!

Exactly! Not to mention that the Capri needs some company!

I didn't mention any rally cars (well, except maybe the Delta) and if you see the image above the Beta Montecarlo would be in good company!

About the other cars:
Alfa Romeo GTAm vs Mercedes 300SEL 6.8 AMG
Alfa Romeo 155 V6 TI vs Mercedes 190E 2.5-16 Evolution 2 DTM (DTM Golden Years Revival)
Alfa Romeo 156 D2 vs Renault Laguna BTCC
Alfa Romeo 4c vs Mitsubishi Lancer Evo vs BMW 1M vs unannounced lotus maybe?
Lancia Beta Montecarlo Turbo vs Ford Capri Group 5 Zakspeed vs BMW 320 Turbo Group 5 (Group 5 goodness)
Lancia LC2 vs Renault Alpine A442B vs Mercedes Sauber C9 (it could work... I guess)
Lancia Delta HF Integrale vs Ford Sierra RS500 Cosworth vs Mitsubishi Lancer Evo vs Audi A1 quattro
Maserati MC12 GT1 vs Mercedes CLK-LM (maybe...)
Maserati Granturismo vs GT3 cars already in the game
Fiat 500 Abarth Trofeo vs Clio IV RS Cup

I think it could work.
I didn't just mention by favorite cars.
Otherwise all Lancia rally cars would be on the list (let's hope a rally expansion is announced after release).
I tried to find cars that are beautiful, rare, unique and would fit with cars already announced.
You can't have motorsports without Italians!

I would think you would have enough of Nissans already seeing GT in the past years! Honda or Mazda would be more my cup of tea ;)

But PCars is different. By the time when PD is fiddling about some WipeOut concept, PCars are getting a LMP1 design that could actually work. I'm not worried because I know that people there have focus and priorities. They would bring proper Nissans to the game, not that Skyline overdose that you alluded.

Some Le Mans cars and a GT-R GT3 would do.

Actually you convinced me there; bring on the le mans R390 and some older Skylines! 👍

The next person to mention Nissan without looking at the OP of this very thread previously will get trout slapped - one time for every Skyline in GT6! :D

Alfa Romeo GTAm vs Mercedes 300SEL 6.8 AMG

A bit of a mismatch there, but it could work I guess. Depends on licenses.

Alfa Romeo 155 V6 TI vs Mercedes 190E 2.5-16 Evolution 2 DTM (DTM Golden Years Revival)

Awwww, hell yeah! Don't forget the BMW E30 Group A and the Sierra RS500, the four of them would make a monster event.

Alfa Romeo 156 D2 vs Renault Laguna BTCC

I think there is something else planned for that series.

Alfa Romeo 4c vs Mitsubishi Lancer Evo vs BMW 1M vs unanounced lotus maybe?

Yeah I can see that, but we are not signed up with Lotus motor car company, we are signed up with Lotus Formula 1.

Lancia Beta Montecarlo Turbo vs Ford Capri Group 5 Zakspeed vs BMW 320 Turbo Group 5 (Group 5 goodness)

Definitely, agree with that. Didn't realise it existed, wasn't looking hard enough I guess.

Lancia LC2 vs Renault Alpine A442B vs Mercedes Sauber C9 (it could work... I guess)

The spread of cars is too far apart to balance, but exclude the Alpine and you might have a better balance.

Lancia Delta HF Intergrale vs Ford Sierra RS500 Cosworth vs Mitsubishi
Lancer Evo vs Audi A1 quattro

RS500 is RWD, not AWD.

Maserati MC12 GT1 vs Mercedes CLK-LM (maybe...)

Clutching at straws there, I think. Spread is too far apart to work, unfortunately.

Maserati Granturismo vs GT3 cars already in the game

This has already been investigated, but more the GT4 version of the car to compete against the Mustang and the M3 GT4.

Fiat 500 Abarth Trofeo vs Audi A1 quattro vs Clio IV RS Cup

The Clio Cup is not the road going version, but the stripped-out race version similar to the one Nic Hamilton was driving.

The most important thing we have to remember is this: SMS have a finite amount of money, and it is not possible to increase that amount of money available to chase after new licenses. We have to be extremely careful of not running out of money, because either we go into debt and the profits will be used to get out of debt, or there's no money left to actually publish the damn game.

As we've said before, lots of different cars have been investigated, suggested, researched and data collected. All I can say is watch this space, and if anything comes up, we will let you know.[/quote]

Well, says not confirmed.

And since I am not member of the official forum, all I can do is speculate wildly.

And that, my friends, I'll do with pleasure and a big smile on my face. There is no way that the car roster of PCars will let me down.

I agree with that. Project CARS looks like it will deliver on everything important on a driving game/sim. But it's crucial to release on time even if some cars are missing. Once it is established on the market and SMS makes profit to fund further development I would gladly buy extra car packs.

Still I think some Italian cars should be included in the base game since they are such an important chapter of motorsports and automotive history and they have so many fans across the world. But I don't think it's a reason to push the release date further or risk creating debt.

I know that SMS and the community are doing whatever they can with the time and funds available and I have faith in them that they will make all the right choices. 👍

I'm sure that if SMS get the chance, then there definitely will be some Italian cars in the game. The other thing that SMS are insistent is that the DLC packs will integrate into the pCARS, they are more of an expansion pack than just more cars a la FMx/GTx.

Here's hoping DLC circuits and cars are included in PCARS career mode afterwards, that's a mistake many developers make they sell you circuits or cars but they are not integrated into the existing career structure, but serve only to hotlap or single race.

For the record: There are italian cars already in pCARS. They are called Pagani. :sly:

Two problems.
  • No racing heritage.
  • German Engine.
Therefore not true Italian cars.

Definitely cool cars, but not legendary or innovative enough to compare to myths like Lancia, Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, Maserati.

I want car innovation to be developed for competition on circuits or on rally stages and then transferred to road cars.

Pagani hasn't done that like the aforementioned Italian makers or like Lotus has done with Colin Chapman.

And unlike Lotus which used in the past British Cosworth engines or Italian makers which sometimes shared engines, Pagani is using German Mercedes engines.

Pagani should start building their own engines and develop cars for competition (like McLaren is recently doing).

Until then they will be cool cars but not that special. :sly:

Just gotta say, had a go in the R8 V10, oh how much do I love that car? It is a drift machine, perfect for doing Top Gear-style drifts around circuits. The R8 Ultra is just brutal, and Ford Mustang SCCA is just immense - just lacking in a little in grip for my liking.

The historic cars are not seen as part of the main career, instead as a side mode of gameplay. Imagine something closer to the Test Drive: Ferrari Legends, you'll have a good idea.

No chance of some career integrated classic events with classic circuits?
Nobody would object that i'm sure :)
