The two competition designed cars represent the most modern design of LMP cars, with the deliberate avoidance of diesel engines. But Felix was right, I did forget the Alpine cars.

Seems reasonable, after all.

We always tend to push things to more variety, but LMP1 is a very restricted class anyway. The P30 sounds like a beast! Loved the videos that I could find about it.

The diesel avoidance that you mentioned... is it because of the difficulty to equalize performance or because people hate diesels?

Coupled with the immense GT3/E field and full weather and 24h time cycle, the Le Mans expecience in pCARS will be unparalleled. Its one of the things I m looking most forward to myself. :)
I lost track of last news so can we sum up all GT3/E cars available in 1.0 version please?
BMW Z4 GT3
SLS GT3
Ginetta GT3
Bentley GT3
And?

People hate diesels, simple as that. Racing cars should sound like cars, not blocked-up vacuum cleaners. The petrol engined cars will be properly equalized to the diesel car(s).

There is the McLaren 12C GT3 also.

There is also the BMW M3 GT2, M3 GT4, McLaren F1 GTR Long Tail, and possibly a couple of Japanese GT cars.

I like diesel LMP cars. Specially the low rev sound of them, reminds me some small pickup trucks.

Well, if Audi comes back at a later point, there will be a Diesel LMP because I m quite sure they will try to get the 2012 or 2013 R18, if they can get the Audi license.

With the M1 getting some love in pCARS, I was wondering if any kind and knowledgeable insiders have heard any whispers of an E46 generation M3?

I reckon you mean the 1M. ;)
The difference is huge when you twist those two around. :P

@LogiForce I love the sound of this; the customisation on the AI settings sound fantastic. I wonder how hard 100% difficulty across the board really is? If it's up to the standard where most of us will struggle to beat it this is going to be one hell of an experience...

Exactly. Playing gt6 on hardest setting was meager at best. I would have to stop mid race and wait till I was in last then try to achieve first again

I ran a race on 'professional' the other night. Was in first from back of the grid in half a lap of Brands Hatch...
... simply lies!!

"Professional" is not an actual difficulty. That "difficulty" only changes the amount of opponents. To change the actual difficulty you have to go to the arcade section of the settings menu.

Check 'Options > Gameplay > Opponents' and see if all those sliders are maxed out. Try again and give a report back. ;)

Yeah, sorry... the AI temperament was set to 10, still is.

I was talking about GT6, sorry for any confusion.
I trust pCars is FAR superior... đź‘Ť

Ooooh, I was already wondering. The game is default on 'pro' mode but you can still move the sliders to a higher position. Global Difficulty is only at 60. Though I am sure there are tweaks to be made once we go in Alpha at the end of April.

I'm just very interested in how difficult the AI in Project CARS is to race against. But to be honest if the guys have gone into this much trouble to allow full customisation of the AI's behaviour I'm sure it's going to be up to scratch. Everything else I've seen points to this game having the potential to be the best all round racing experience.

Spotted the Project CARS weekly Build Recaps on the VirtualR site, looking through them you can get a good idea of how things are progressing and what’s coming in the future if you don't have a WMD account. Unfortunately if I were to post them here it would take up all of the page.

Love this. Thanks for letting us know!

I've heard that some of the content we are seeing isn't actually going to be included day 1, but as DLC; i.e., the classic Lotus cars and the un-licensed tracks. Someone please tell me this is not so. :nervous:

As far as I'm aware, it's only going to be the ovals and probably Bannochbrae that won't be on initial release, judging on current levels of development. Some of the Lotuses have been 'finished' (ie, only spit and polish needed), so I should imagine those should make it into the final game. However, there was some mention of one company wanting to release a full DLC pack, I'm not sure who that is (I'm guessing manager level+ do), so I not going to speculate.

However, one thing needs to be remembered; DLC doesn't need to cost, it can be free or cheap.

The Caper is very far advanced in a lot of aspects, so I assume it will be in the base game. Fusion... No idea. Keep in mind though, those are not cars that are used exclusively in Ovals and we will have at least 3 road courses in the base game where they are used in real life.

In general, please dont read too much into the word DLC. SMS is determined to enhance the life cycle of the game after release and that will most probably include free stuff like additional features and content that didnt make it in on release day for whatever reason. Also there are 8000 members at WMD that will make sure that DLC wont mean rip off or that finished content will get held back etc We the people! :D

Crossing my fingers that the post-release future includes completing the proposed rally experience, whether it's DLC or a spinoff. :)
