Initially, it was announced there would be PS3 and XBOX360 versions but it sounds like they're focusing on PC and the newest gen consoles. Judging from the screenshots thread, that's just fine with me!

Yeah that announcement was made before they even knew when the PS4 and XB1 would be released last year. Then they changed it later on that same year I believe because they may have got the devs kits for the next gen consoles. Either way I'm glad it's on next gen like you.

*Dances* Yeah, wanna know why I'm dancing, don't ya? *Continues dancing* That's because, I got myself a PS4, and I'm ready for some pCARS WOO! Later people. ;) *Moonwalks away*

:)

Nice battle

Anyways, can't wait for the game to be out.

To anyone who REALLY KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT physics wise, more or less realistic than gt6, forza, etc...

Maybe rank them? I'm concerned due to various website accusing this of being an arcade racer.

I'm amazed how many misconceptions and rumors exist and are accepted as truth - if pCARS is arcade, what would that make GT, Mario Cart clone?

I'm too excited for this also. Like @mlbguy4life said, this looks to be the game GT should have been. (Maybe GT7 will pleasantly surprise us all).

I shouldn't get over excited though... as I don't have the bankroll for a PS4 or my forever planned PC build. Doesn't look promising for the next 6-9 months either :banghead: :(

pCARS is at least equal to iRacing in the physics department, and could be better, but with aids it can be dialed back as easy as you would want it to be.
Also you have full control over the AI settings. This means 0-100% sliders for the following: Global Difficulty, Global Aggression, Starting Reactions, Intelligence, Qualifying Session Ability, Race Session Ability, Passing Ability, Blocking Ability, Stamina, Risk Taking, Aggression.

So the fact is that the game can be fully customized to your liking, but the cars and AI will in the base have solid simulation physics. ;)

That said, the hiccups are still not out of the game. Though they are already decreasing and will continue to do so from here on out as the SMS crew works towards launch day; which is hopefully at the end of this year without further delay.

@LogiForce I love the sound of this; the customisation on the AI settings sound fantastic. I wonder how hard 100% difficulty across the board really is? If it's up to the standard where most of us will struggle to beat it this is going to be one hell of an experience...

I'd like to ask to anyone with access to the official forums how the Le Mans kind of racing/cars are being covered to the release of the game.

SMS had a competition for the community to design two LMP cars based on the Audi R18 chassis, the results of which we have seen; the RWD Motorsport P30 which has a petrol flat-six, single turbo engine with a pnuematic hybrid system, and the Marek PM06a with a NA petrol V8. Also, we have the Mercedes Sauber C90 and the Bentley Speed 8 which has been confirmed (and most likely in game on release), and also the BMW V12 LMR and the Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR as other historic cars, and then finally an Oreca 03 LMP2 car, which will come in two flavours (one with a Nissan engine, and another with a Judd-BMW engine).

As a side-note, there is the intention of modifying the Marek PM06a to make it eligible for the LMP2 to compete against the Oreca. And very finally, we have yet still to hear about a certain German manufacturer who make exceptionally good LMP cars...

Same here; screw consoles and not being able to use your fancy third party gear anymore, because they want to get into your wallet again. I'm probably joining the master race also this summer, as that's where all the good racing games/sims are, and that's the only thing i still play anyhow 👍

My CSR will work good on it.

Any chance of more current age LMPs?

Actually DG Silva kinda forgot the Alpines - they have the license to the A450 that ran in LMP2 last year (which is an alternative version of the Oreca) and also this years version plus the iconic A442B. And then beyond that, yes there is a chance that there is still more modern LMP goodness to come, but SMS cant talk about that before deals are signed, due to NDAs during licensing negotiations.

Coupled with the immense GT3/E field and full weather and 24h time cycle, the Le Mans expecience in pCARS will be unparalleled. Its one of the things I m looking most forward to myself. :)
