That's the freedom that crowdfunding allows you. Removing a major funder, which in most cases is the publisher, gives you the technical and creative freedom to implement what you want, and what you think will sell, not what someone in a suit who has a lot of shareholders to please will think sell. I have no doubt that if this game was released by EA, Atari or anybody else, it would be a completely different article.

I hope the Pit2Car radio is gonna be like what we get in European motorsport, & not like in NASCAR or iRacing. I don't want to be told that there's someone right next to me & to leave room!

You know you can turn that off, right? I find it very useful to be told when there's someone beside me when road racing, what with my tiny single screen and all.

Hi guys specially to the members of pCARS, since the thread is over 212 pages and this might have been discussed but I am wondering if my G27 wheel will work on PS4 version at the game release? Thanks!

As of now, no, PCars has to get a driver from Logitech to run any Logitech wheels.

Sad to hear this……. sounds like there is no reason for logitech not providing that driver as soon as possible, i believe only GT series racers would have million of users now using G27, not counting the up coming race titles on PS4 which will definitely push future sales on their wheels!

It's going to be a Forza-style editor, but nothing has been implemented into the game yet. When we can give you any more info, we'll let you know.

I thought there is no livery editor planned?

It would be really a mess if the PS4 or SMS would not support our wheels (Fanatec GT2). I can´t afford a new expensive wheel for every new console generation! First I bought a Fanatec GT3 wheel, weeks later I realized, I will give Forza a try and bought a GT2 only because of that Xbox support and now both Next Gen consoles wont support this expensive wheels? That would be really BS...

Support for Logitech and Fanatec wheels is solely at the feet of Logitech. They need to create the drivers for the devs to support. However, the answer may lie in the CronusMAX adaptor. As of yet, the have no official support for wheels, but the community have managed to get the G55/27 and the Fanatec GT2 working on an Xbone.

I just watched a video of a lotus 49 in pcars, and at low revs I could hear the the gears were whining someone please tell me they're going to get rid of this!!?? :nervous:

Volumes have yet to be rebalanced, but it depends on the speed the car was doing. If it is in 4th gear at 70mph, you'd have low revs but gear whine.

Well, every system has its problems. I also cant afford to buy a new $500 graphics card each year ^^ Thats why I prefer a 400€ console with a lifetime of 5 years...

Because you need a $500 graphics card, and when you buy one it only lasts for a year. Of course.

Can I have what he's having?

Sorry I don't buy this. Logitech is out of the wheel business. Sony should be showing up at their door with a cheque book saying, "how much"? Sony has much more at stake here than Logitech and if they really wanted it done it would be done, one way or the other.

I bought an Radeon 5670HD for 200€ 2-3 years ago. Now I cant even play games on low settings with that. On PS3 these games still look mindblowing. I cant imagine that the 5670HD would be able to render the GT6 graphics in 60FPS... And the PS3 is more then 5 years old...

I dont understand why Logitech have to make these drivers so that Fanatec wheels can work? Why cant Fanatec make an driver for PS4? I contacted Fanatec today and asked them why thy dont contact Slightly Mad and make a driver for PS4... Lets see if they even answer my question...

Sele, if I can answer;

PC games are notoriously hard to program for, mainly down to the different configurations of machines. Because there is no fixed setup, it's difficult to know how to effectively optimise the game's engine because of different capabilities. The consoles have a fixed number of shades, processing threads, memory, etc, so sacrifices and allowances can be made in the name of speed. That, mostly, is not possible on PCs. Secondly, ATi cards are poor when it comes to DX11 overheads, hence the development of Mantle, a system that allows better low-level control of the hardware (this also includes nVidia hardware, but they won't support it, they want DX12). If you look at the performance difference with gangs that are Mantle enhanced, the difference can be upto 50-60%. That's why ATi cards are comparatively poor generation-wise against nVidia cards, but better on a bang per buck rating.

As for the Fanatec, I don't know. Maybe it was a deal the two companies came to.

For making a driver for ps4, is this like millions of dollars to develope? If it isn't too much I agree Sony would have its best interest in getting Logitech to do it if they ever want to try gt7 on ps4.

A 200€ card is not comparable to a 500€ card as you stated earlier.
When you purchase a GTX 780 now and your CPU is still capable, you won't have to upgrade for many years.

Hold on the Fanatec may work on X1 PCARS?
Before anyone misquotes me, or jumps to conclusions, I'm not saying that there is or isn't official support for the wheel. But it is possible to make the Fanatec wheels work on the Xbox One using an adaptor.

Huh? You paid €200 for a 5670 two years ago? Are you sure that's right? I paid €100 for an HD4850 in 2009 which is still just about trundling along today and is still more powerful than your card. Twice that for a slower card two years ago doesn't seem right. Of course that sort of card isn't going to last too long but as I say even my HD4850 plays pCARS at current gen console sort of levels, usually above on other games. And that's five years old. If you bought a decent mid/high power card today it'd easily last you 3/4 years.

Sorry for double post, but it doesn't take a massive amount of coding considering they already have a Windows driver for the device. I agree that it would make for Sony to convince Logitech to make the drivers for the console, but it's fairly obvious that, for whatever reason, Logitech don't want to get tied down to creating the middleware needed.

You got ripped off. In 2010 the 5670 was a ~$100 card.

http://www.techspot.com/review/240-ati-radeon-hd-5670/

It was a pretty bad card when you bought it, there were better choices on which to spend you money as seen in the conclusion of that review, and it's been completely outclassed since.

3 years ago I bought a 6950 for $300 AUD, which is about 170 pounds. It was a pretty good card in the day, and it's acceptable now. It'll run most stuff at reasonable settings, at least PS3/360 level of graphical quality anyway.

Besides, there's an ENORMOUS difference between a $500 card and your 5670 for ~$100. A $500 card will last 4-5 years, but at the end of that time the graphics performance will be nothing special, just as the graphics performance of a PS3 or 360 is nothing special these days.

Because the PS3 compatible part of their wheel worked by emulating a G25. As for why they don't make their own drivers, it's a good question.
