Normally I don't read such long write up's but as it was personally to me I did. Thanks for your effort.

To answer your question shortly, I was in no forum, I was reading no news, no Twitter and had no big interest on rumors etc. And I was young :D so as gt5p came out on ps3 I did not even think about if my wheel will work or not because I thought it is like on pc. Usb is usb and never thought that things are so complicated.

Sorry about the length of the post, mate. I just end up trying to cover all basis in order when explaining things... and it kinda gets out of hand most of the time. :embarrassed: Just a little flaw of mine I suppose. Nobody is perfect after all. ;)

Your explanation makes sense. I was already a nerd when it comes to computer knowledge in the early 90's, to the point that little me was the 'goto techy' at our primary school... which still had DOS computers.
So yeah, backgrounds differ and your angle makes perfect sense from that kind of perspective.

Now I will shut up before it gets long again. :P

I did not meant that negative, I would love it when I would been able to like to write a lot. Sometimes I hate it. Because actually writing (in german) is my job :D

After last weeks had second thoughts about getting this but wheel or no wheel I'm sold cant wait for project cars. The AI looks amazing and the graphics look better than driveclu cannot wait. What's the release date by the way?

Why is it that I can't see any on the threads on the WMD site. For example, it says 633 threads under Game Design but when I click on it, it says there are no posts in this forum, it's not just my computer, it's on my phone as well. Why is this?

You haven't got the privileges to view them. You'd need an account with a toolpack for that section and be a WMD member.

The forum used to be visible for non-paid members, but they closed that up, sometime during June I think. I don't know if it was a mistake in the first place, or if it changed because we're getting closer to release.

Are the devs going to give the build access to members down to the last one or are they going to keep the last 50 builds or so to themselves for release?

If all is well than people can access the news section without a toolpack, and I just got word that it's intended to show fora and subfora and their amount of threads... just to show activity.

I don't think anything has changed to be honest. Than again, as a member with a toolpack I just have access so I wouldn't notice it while logged in all the time.

@LogiForce -- I registered for the forum in '11/'12, to check it out and snag my username in case I wanted to join WMD. I never did, but later I remembered that forum account. I had access to all forums, I could read your conversations, I saw the earliest console build screenshots. I just couldn't post. Now it's been changed to what you described.

Must have been a mistake at SMS's end, and they might have noticed it a bit late.

Why should they keep any build to themselves? We re testing those builds for design issues and bugs, after all.
Only reason I brought that up is because (and this is a personal issue on my part) I don't want to see the final version of the game with the spoilers from the time it goes gold to release...

Any spoilers there are have already been revealed for the most, unless there is something due we don't know about (unlikely at this point, as we are feature complete at this point).

WMD are actually really transparent when it comes notifying non memebers. we just test and discuss the updates and issues from build you know almost much as the lowest package (junior) those guy have monthly updates and limited access to the forum.

Gotta love the WMD! A member called DiegoMustache, in his first two posts, asked about a technique for implementing shadowing on smoke. Ian Bell, not disparingly but dismissively said 'Go on then', and his next post was an image where he had actually coded the effect! This for WMD members:

Sorry Ian but you got...

Not that I'm poking fun at Ian Bell, the guy is supremely talented, but I just don't think he expected someone to be able to confirm what they had suggested. I don't know if they are going to run with it yet.
