@ Tourgott: The post above you mentioned contains some interesting sentences. Like ""here is a taster of the tracks that will be in the game" or "There remains many more to come..."

Sorry bout Imola and Dubai though, I stopped following F1 some years ago, so I m not up to date. :embarrassed:

When will you guys understand that this list didn't change anything?! The only thing that you might have learn is that unfinished track won't be in the released game...

Sorry guys, had a brain fart. Misread the post.
They cut finished content, that's what I meant, sorry.

You mean just the Limited Edition DLC cars, or is there more that I haven't heard about?

The LE cars thing sucks a bit, but it's more or less standard practise these days. If companies can make more money doing it that way than adding the cars into the base game, they will. It won't stop until people stop spending money on silly limited edition stuff, and that's unlikely when there's so many people with more money than sense.

There's equivalent examples in pretty much every industry these days, and it's just basic business sense unfortunately.

Why is making money bad for SMS in this case? It means that in the next 2 years more licenses can be bought for both cars and tracks. So with more money flowing, more content is returned as well.
Besides that, the devs and their families can't live off of just air either. So they need to get some money in to be able to feed their families, pay for the office in London, buy new licenses and create new content (which is a long process!).

Seriously I just don't get the issue here.
Than again, maybe I am thinking differently here after seeing it all from the other side of the fence. :boggled:

As mentioned by many already (Ed: this posting was typed up yesterday, so it has been made slightly redundant by other posters, but as it popped up in my saved drafts...), there's only a few WIP assets that will have to come later. Most of what you all have seen will be there. Yes, the game could have been developed under NDA and behind closed doors, but that isn't the WMD model.

A game of this scope and ambition will not be perfect and with all assets seen during development[1] on day one. Unfortunately perhaps - the reality is such that they could go on forever, but the game must be released at some point. Game development is a business, not an altruistic undertaking. We're way past the point of bedroom development with an end-of-the-line product on a 400kB floppy disk. That doesn't make it a money grubbing exercise; it's real life game development and publishing, supporting a real company with real people. As we have seen in the past that it's also a competitive and risky business where some game studios have to close down and people lose their jobs. Game developers don't exactly live in huge mansions and fly private jets...

Regarding not all known content being in at release... Personally I'd rather want that it gets done properly than have it all at once in a less than optimal state now. I think there'll be more than enough to keep me busy for a long time. Some high quality themed and content rich DLC packages down the road will only serve to keep my interest.

[1] Normal closed development projects wouldn't have shown those assets to the public. Project CARS is special in this area since we have had a look in at all things, even those that might not make it to the day 1 release. That's never happened before on a scale like this, so I guess the outcry can be expected to be proportional to the transparency in this area. On WMD we have been well aware that some WIP and planned content must wait until later, and that has been no secret to the rest of the world either.

I don't know what you've heard about or not, I'll not share any information that might be under NDA, except that there's more than the LE content. I hate this stuff...

so the game releases in less than 2 months, what is the definitive list of tracks included? also the other "shown assets" will be available as pay dlc or free dlc.

answering this solves all

LE bonus, pre-order bonus and paid DLC as far as I know.

It seems nobody reads the track list track. :guilty:
Its not your fault people have lost the ability to search for information

if you search the web you will find the answers you seek.

Iurge fellow Pcars members to do the same
thanks

at this current point i have not heard about wii u dlc but would not be surprised if it featured dlc in the release.
I'd be happy to pay for it separately, but I was just wondering as it's not common place for 3rd party games not to get the DLC other formats receive.

So are 100% sure those will be included? how can you?
yes we are why else would they stick them in list! there not pd!

its not exclusive content so why would the wii u not get it. please consider that sms is a very different company when compared to the companies behind most other AAA games

Uhm... The tracks in said thread over the -------- line are playable in the game, SMS never said they wont be in the base game, there will be a huge outcry @ WMD and elsewhere if they are cut and there are no hints at them being cut whatsoever. Is that enough?

Where does all the sudden distrust come from? (general question, not only about you, azida) :odd:

Does anyone know if the games version of Silverstone will have the roof put on the stands at Club corner and following that along the new Pit straight opposite the Wing? It's not hugely important but it's just a little bugbear of mine.

Talking of which, I'm off to the very establishment on Sunday for the British Touring Car Championship.

Someone said that a Facebook page, related to the game, posted something about the tracks being removed.

I really don't care if there are a few key tracks missing from the standard retail version. There are already so many more interesting choices than gt6 so I'm thankful

no, on ps4 won't be included all the tracks now in the latest build. only finished tracks. Pcars guys on FB told this. For ex all historic tracks won't be in day 1 version and will come later as dlc. Ovals too and some other tracks that needs t be fixed. On the pc are all playable now.

So are 100% sure those will be included? how can you?
are not in fact, unfininished one will come later as dlc (free or not i don't know)

My idea is that historic tracks will come later in a "historic pack" like in shift 2 unleashed for like 10€. They will surely release dlcs you have to pay for.. like the 5 cars of the limited. But just my 2 cents.

I already preorderd the limited here in italy for ps4.. damn 79€

Can we please get a link for this? Hard to believe, to be honest.

That the historic tracks, ovals and some others will be DLC is no surprise, the OP of the track list thread clearly stated that since March.

i do not know how to link the conversation, just go on pcars official page on fb. Under the post track list a guy from pcars team managing the page told this. Guys are asking track by track and he's telling in or not.

here:

Edit: ok, didn't know, sorry than. i was interested in old tracks more than others i have to say. bit disappointed but i'll live with that.

I think it may be lost in translation, but circuits like Macau and Ruapana Park that have not been started yet could be the tracks he is talking about. Personally, I couldn't care less if they never start Macau, I'd rather have Pau.

It's been known for a while that there would be a historic DLC pack and an oval DLC pack, right? It's not just that those tracks are unfinished or "need to be fixed" -- they're unfinished because they weren't scheduled to be on the disc at release.
I'd be happy to pay for it separately, but I was just wondering as it's not common place for 3rd party games not to get the DLC other formats receive.
I've had the same thought, but I still have a hunch that we'll be getting the first round of updates on the disc as part of the delay. My worry is about later expansions/DLC, once sales are a known quantity, but I guess that's up to Nintendo fans like us.

No, i didn't get lost, i was speaking about historic and ovals plus other tracks (which tracks? don't know). However seems like i was outdated cause it had been already told that historics were out and i didn't know, my fault. However guys you can ask track by track there. I personally just asked for historics.

here:

Yeah and he says "in" about everything except historics and ovals (and Zandvoort, which was never in the plans), unless I m blind. I m not seeing where you read the part about other tracks not being finished?!

Again: Is has been known for ages that historic tracks and ovals will not be in the base game. The track list thread has stated that since March.

And lastly: That is NOT the official pcars page maintained by SMS, that is a fan page. The guy answering you is a normal WMD member, like me, DG Silva, Timppaq and several others here.

I'm not saying you're incorrect about the historics or ovals, but as far as I'm aware, the only other circuits remaining outside of those categories are Macau and Ruapuna Park.
