Why are people online such jerks? Every time I play this game I set fastest lap or crash out, inevitably finishing in last place somehow. What is it with online's infatuation with GT3 cars? I hate GT3 cars. Every car in this game wants to snap oversteer you into a wall.

The Caterham Seven Classic is by far the worst handling car I've driven in the game so far. Even worse than the McLaren F1. Changing the suspension settings help, but the stock setting is absolutely stupid. With the stock settings the car would be undriveable if it isn't so slow

The gearbox is the worst thing about that car. The ratio's are too far apart and there's no adjusting them :(

Agreed. Also, the tire heat indicator on that Caterham never seems to change from blue to green, for me. Not sure if they're heating up or not...

GT3 cars are some of the most stable cars mechanically and aerodynamically. They are fast and relatively easy to drive fast, especially with real assist settings on. My only complaint has been in thunderstorm conditions were I can't keep the car from cooling the tires below their operating window.
 
Tonight I'm going to be checking out the Xbone version over at a friends house , I'm looking forward to seeing how it compares to my PS4 version and seeing also how his Thrustmaster 458 Italia compares to the GTE . I was torn whether to get it on xbone or Ps4 so we will see if I made the right choice .

I will no problem and I'm completely impartial as I own both consoles , what would be great is if I could use my T300 on both !

I ended up getting the T300RS and the TX. Expensive, but worth it considering I play Forza, GT, and now Project CARS (as well as whatever my weak laptop can run).

I'm pretty sure both bases are nearly identical, except that the T300 has 1080 degrees of rotation versus 900 degrees on the TX. Plus the GTE/RS wheel is a lot better than the TX 458 wheel.

Its horrible on Monza. You'll try to take the Chicanes and you get slammed into, and given a cut track penalty, even though you were 'forced' to do it.

On that note, why are most of the online lobbies GT3s? Is it because most everyone loves the GT3s, or because they are the easiest to drive?

A bit of both. GT3 has caused a huge resurgence in the sports car fandom; the amateur teams love how easy the GT3 cars are to drive in real-life, and the fandom loves how cool every freaking car is.

Personally though? #GTEMasterRace

:lol: I really like the GT3, but the old touring cars and the DTM Merc make me smile every time.

I must admit, the first time I saw one, I was like WOW, that Freaking thing is wwwwaaaaayyyy CoooooooL!!!
 
So I'm just now starting to play this game with my T500.. (been using controller to get the hang of it for a little). Do you guys recommend I change any of the settings for the T500??

You can adjust each gear individually, but I've never bothered. I've never used 5th gear anywhere in that car.

I've had them go green before, but it's pretty rare.

Thanks so much for taking the time to read through and give very informative and helpful answers, that is exactly what I was hoping for. It's good to know that others who are enjoying the game went through the same issues to get to a good place, I was feeling like the "odd man out".

So, today, I finally got some down time and decide to spark up the PS4 and get some time in learning some of the cars before I even attempt to race against anyone/anything. I go into free practice with the BMW Z4 GT3 and this is what happened. I disparately wanted to love this game as I just love racing, but honestly, this has been a very bad experience from the word go. I am just amazed that so many have called this game great, there are so many bugs, I just can’t get much enjoyment from this. I think I will have to put this one aside and hope that they fix some of this stuff soon. I race for Fun Not Frustration!!!!!!!!
And believe me, I am attempting to keep my words as kind and tactful as I can, but Wow!!!!!!!!

I agree about people online being jerks. My online record can be so much better if it wasn't for getting wrecked at the start of a race then trying to work my way back up. I only do online now majority of the time when friends send invites.
