Well, say what you will about the bugs and glitches but when it's all working the game can be sublime.

I just had one of my best races ever, 15 laps, day to night at Watkins Glen in my old M1 Procar (that I retuned just beforehand). Made my way through the pack (of lunatics) as day turned to dusk, then as night fell I was stuck in 5th, then got to 3rd and followed the 2 leaders for a few laps before making my move on lap 13, past 2nd into turn 1, then took 1st place at the end of the first straight. Holding it together for the final 2 laps was a bit nerve-shredding and my 45L of fuel literally ran out a car's length before the line but damn, twas unparalleled fun!

Now I need a breather

I know the feeling, I've had several races where I've felt totally wrung out afterwards, who says videogames aren't physically challenging? Now just imagine how sublime PCars would be without its bugs and glitches.

Yeah got the update, did California, still feeling it

It looks to me like the stat tracking really is not right. Last night i played for at least 4hrs and today about 1hr and yet the Hours Played has only increased by 1 hour. All were quick races so that should tally in the Solo bar I think. Inaccurate stat tracking is kinda pointless.

I posted about this a short time ago, experienced the same as you. I had played 4 hours of single races and hours played didn't budge. I haven't played since because that was the last straw for me at the time, I needed time away from the game but will pick it up again in the next few days. The only stat I trust right now is races won but I wouldn't be surprised if that failed too. The stats in PCars are so wrong it's as you say pointless in even having them. Unfortunately it's just another set of bugs and glitches in a game that's rotten with them.
I will keep my fingers crossed that eventually we will have a superb game, but every patch they release seems to not always fix what they say and also comes with new bugs.
I really hope this game is not beyond SMS's ability to fix.
They will have PCars 2 to sell us in a couple of years time so they need to sort this game out quickly or it will effect sales of the next one.

Sweet! Shiny objects! :P So what exactly can this app do? :P

Well they are not making the app.. they adding support to the game to sendout the information on the local network so the apps can be developed. Basically the game will send out rpm, speed, gear, plus many other things. The exact data that will be sent out has not been released yet.

Here is an example of one that is working on the windows PC platform. - Dashmeter pro

Oh gotcha, still extremely cool. 👍

I want an app that has those displays that have the arrows that point to whatever side of you a car is (I've only seen them in a couple of onboard videos of the Corvettes)

The AI being 5 car lengths behind at the 100m board, and then climbing up over my bonnet at the apex would be softened by some pretty flashing lights. At least then i would know im about to be demolished, especially when racing the multi-class with the palmers (radicals?) that have no headlights in a night race!

Sometimes it's really hard to love this game. My first race with the new free dlc car... Crash to PS problem report screen. :(

But!, on the flip side. Once i had got it restarted, fun was had.

just keep an eye on the thread and posts by Tim Mann.
In general it's a good idea to check developer posts by hitting the 'SMS posts' button at the top of the forum. From there you can click individual SMS staff names.

Does the LMP car that comes with the new DLC doesn't have a hud in the car when driving in cockpit view?

Exactly the same thing happened to me, but mine was a non-DLC car on the new DLC track.

We need to get Default setups working before other features get put in.

Yeah man.. I am loving their QA process for the release notes. They have done it each time, a feature or a fix is clearly written in there and 20mins after the release of the patch people are already saying this or that does not work.

I am guessing it goes like this..

Devs: "Here are the release notes"
QA: Glances at them, drives their favorite car 1 lap around a single track - "Good to Go!"

Edit - more likely ..
Management: "We are running out of time, we have to get the patch in so we can get it cleared so the DLC will work so we can get paid, DEVs give us what ever you have done"
DEVS: "here is the code and the release notes, but we still need.. "
Management: "Close enough, QA make sure the game does not crap out with this patch so we can send it out"
QA: "it seems to work from the lap you let us run, but we noticed...."
Management: "good enough go go go!"
