good day today, i just sold my ps3 for 80€ and my 2009 dfgt for 70€. 150€ to invest in a new combo.
A friend also offered me a new ps4 for 320€ but i think i'll wait PCars release as i want to be sure it works as it should be on ps4 and the wheel works properly too... cause if i have to buy a t300rs and then spend ages to get the feeling right, messing with setting likes codemaster games on consoles...mmm. I'm a bit worried cause last SMS product on console (shift2) had a terrible wheel support. Expect for GT games usually it's a pain to set the wheel on console, i didn't care with a cheap dfgt but now i do.

80€ for the PS3 :( I will keep mine until I am dead :D
I still have my PS1 and PS2. Also still got my Gameboy from the 90s

Here in ebay.de the PS4 was available for 299€ for direct purchase. Would wait a bit as you said because there will be bundles and maybe a new revision.

Good point. Although my hopes for good console wheel support are higher now, as the architecture is much more PC-like. SMS's record for wheel support on consoles before PCARS is not good though but hopefully they put more effort in that now, especially with the ever so critical community breathing down their neck :P

Let's put it this way: SMS has put time and effort into supporting the Thrustmaster T100 on PS4, presumably because it was feasible to do so similarly to the T500RS. I've not seen any of the other soon-to-launch titles mention support for anything other than T80/T300/T500 (talking The Crew and Driveclub here).

So I'd say SMS is already proving they will put in the extra effort to support any wheel they possibly can!

With support I actually meant the way the wheels worked in-game. On consoles there has always been the input lag that they were never able to fix properly.

I agree with what you say though. They support every wheel that's within their possibilities to support, which is of course a big thumbs up 👍

With the current gen consoles being much more similar in architecture to PC's than consoles of the past, I'm guessing that input lag won't be as much of an issue this generation. Fingers crossed anyway.

Yeah, the lag killed S2U on PS3 for me. For the record: one of the very first things that were done for pCARS was a complete refactoring of the input system, and it's now completely free from lag.

I think the input lag was something in the NFS Shift 1/2 input filter software, part of their controller support.

There was still input lag very early in the PC pCARS development, before they threw the old code out and started from scratch. Now on the PC you don't get noticeable input lag, and the physics tick rate is definitely no longer impacted by frame rates (which it used to be badly in Shift).

I assume that new code will make it over to the consoles. I assume that we won't have any input lag issues on PS4 or XBox One. Pending confirmation from people who tried pCARS PS4 version....

Am I the only one not freaking out about selling my wheel? Theres' still at least 2 months before the game even ships. SMS hasn't even released their full car and track list yet, some people are going to feel pretty stupid dropping a bunch of money on a new wheel if pCARS ends up having support for Logitech wheels. I'll be hanging on to my G27. If pCARS doesn't support it, then I guess I won't buy it until I can build a gaming PC and my PS4 will still be used for FIFA until The Division drops.

It was a threading issue according to the devs. And yes, the code in question is common for all platforms AFAIK, so no more lag anywhere :)

For what I understand, and I spent quite some time digging into this, is very unlikely that Logitech end up being supported. So, my old G27 was just lying there, losing its value day by day.

I'm confident some games will have support. From what I hear, if you plug it into ps4 it still calibrates. Only matter of time before someone finds a hack or back door around the security chip.

Add this to that thick marked, at least for me "on a new wheel and a new PC". And my biggest fear is that Pcars will be a big dissapointment and I wasted 1500 bucks almost only for it  It´ll better be a damn good sim.

But at least for the wheel I have to wait until the V2 Base is available so maybe Pcars will come out before I have the wheel ^^

It will be worth it because worst case scenario you don't like Project Cars - there's other, fantastic, sims out there

I was gutted when I heard but I have just purchased a T300 with T500 pedals and a next level racing stand and I'm gonna sell my custom rig and G25 as people have said my G25 feels dated and this pushed me to upgrade.

I own both a G25 and a T500RS, and have been swapping between them also for pCARS on the PC.

From my experience the pCARS FFB is tuned to make good use of the greater torque of the T500RS (or CSW, or T300/TX), so the experience with a T500RS is better than with a G25. It doesn't make it less painful for guys who would like to continue to use their G25, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

Is it possible to wait until the game is released then try it out on another system? I am frugal by nature and this is a concern of mine as well, but after trying out Assetto Corsa on a low end PC I can safely say there's no turning back. Playing AC vs. GT(played every version of the game so far) is like a whole different game, the feel, the force feedback, the sound, the immersion factor, the adjustability of just about everything, the mods, the liveries etc. etc. etc. It raises the bar from just "content" to an actual sim experience. Last night I downloaded some sound mods for a couple of cars and some Gilles Villeneuve inspired liveries and can't wait to try them out on track. If Project Cars is along those same lines and it promises to be IMO, it's well worth the investment. A good gaming PC also has good resale, at least here in Canada, so if it doesn't work out for some reason I'll take a small loss and move on, but I can't see that ever happening at this point.

I'm interested in this wheel as well, can you post a review when you get some time on it?

Yeah of course I did not only buy it for Pcars :D But almost. I would say 70-80%. Because my old machine is running actual games pretty ok. But anyway, it was time for something new. I ordered an Xeon 1231V3, 256GB SSD, 8GB RAM and an Fractal Design R4 Midi Tower. Of course Motherboard and the other stuff too. I already bought an used R9 280X graphics card last month so I will use that one with the new components. I hope I get my components on friday, can´t wait to build it together. That was a big hobby from me 10 years ago.

I was going to buy only an SSD and a new tower and keep my old components. But WTF, just put in 400 bucks more and get all new. Then sell your old stuff for 200 bucks and everything is good.

I am pretty excited to get my hands on Rome2 total war and Company of Heroes 2. Will check out Anno. And of course Arma 3. I play BF4 on PS4 but I guess Arma is more a war simulation so I am interested in. BTW I am absolutely against war in real life. But in games it is ok :D I tried none of these games on my actual old PC because I only have an very old 80GB hard disk wich is full. But I know that games would run pretty well on that machine too.

But I guess for 60% I will play racing sims. Got my eye on the Fanatec Base V2. Seen awesome reviews today about it. But I guess it will be available next year for us without code so I´ll can save up some money.

Hi all!

I've been thinking! :dopey:

Fanatec wheel users used logitech drivers on the PS3 by selecting the G27?.....

Fanatec must now have a PS4 driver for their new CSW v2 to work with the console?

Do you think a G27 user could select the fanatec wheel in a PS4 game and use their driver?

Is this just wishful thinking?!
