let's say PC comes out in May...this will be six months, yes half year after the original release date....come on, can anyone within the development team see how much work they still have to put into the game so it meets their goals??? and what about announcing a release date when the game is 99.9% ready??? they are just making fools out of themselves...

Well at least the delay will eliminate the need for a day 1 patch. But even after this and it STILL needs one...

There will always be a need for day 1 patches nowadays because schedules are so tight that developers have to use those ~3 weeks between going gold and release to squash the last bugs.

This is probably a long shot, but would any of you guys happen to be one of the Dev teams mechanics? And know if they have an MOT or a service due for any reason?

I think this scenario should be played out:

'Oh hey SMS guy, just ringing to tell you that everything is ok but the oil change you requeated will take a little longer than expected. I'll call you tomorrow'
Tomorrow comes, no phone call... A while later..
'Ah yes, sorry SMS guy but I'm glad you called, the work will be delayed again unfortunately as we found some unexpected bugs on the windscreen. Nothing to worry about, we'll deal with them as quick as we can and call you back'
Two days pass..
'Oh it's you SMS guy, sorry we're taking so long but there's no need for your tone sir, we're doing our best! I know it's unfortunate but we just want to make sure you're delivered your car back in satisfactory condition. One of the bugs left a nasty mark on the side panel, we're just applying some polish.. IT'LL BE ANOTHER WEEK!'

If they are now giving us free content wont that free content use up even more time?
Unless it was already done and they're just giving it to us instead of charging for it. The IGN report made it sound like free DLC so I'm expecting some kind of code with every copy.

I echo the sentiments that I'd rather have a completely finished and bug-free game on day 1 (cough Rockstar) but there comes a point where the promise of a finished game isn't enough to keep me from becoming extremely frustrated whenever they push it back another month after all this time. Sorry but it just isn't. I'm not going to cancel my preorder or attack the developers, but this is really leaving a bad impression so far. But that's just me.

NO game will ever be released bug free. The devs should have known that when they got to this last percent, that crushing bugs gets a lot harder as they always seem to have a negative side effect to it. I'm disappointed it got delayed again because they are trying to be perfectionists in an area where it is impossible.

Absolutely fapping annoyed by this!!!!!!! dont they realise how much of a turn off this is to people who try and plan time around the bloody game to sodding well play it!!!!!!! only to be told ummmmm YOU BLOODY WELL CANT PLAY IT FOR ANOTHER MONTH........ this game is becoming decidely sour for me and now i feel like cancelling my pre-order and WAIT for forza 6 as that will ultimately come out before this sodding thing does....... BAD FORM SMS......BLOODY DEVELOPER NOOBS......

Can we please stop having a go at the devs. Their is more that one party involved with the release of project cars.
Most of the bugs you may see us mention to report go on a secondary list of, fix it but after the major ones are ironed out. If any one has dabbled in coding you will know it is often common to tweak one line and it then has a knock on effect . The challenge is then to find where this issue starts and how you can do that line of code without affect the others. What where we seeing In the current patches is a lot of Lod adjustments for certain models and small to medium bug fixes.

Now with my basic understanding of coding, I'm going to speculate and say this.
I think they're struggling to get a solid 60fps at the level of detail seen in the previews on consoles it's a well known fact that developers are struggling to get the performance needed out of the consoles and this is especially true for the Xbox one. ( look at resolution)
SMS won't release a game that doesn't meet they promises made and WMD won't allow that either. However as it's not discussed on the WMD platform I suspect the delay is console related. Of course it doesn't help that WMD members are playing on the PC version which is bar a few bugs practically finished.

They also can't release the PC version months before most likely due to contracts. So I ask you please don't mock or have a go at SMS and WMD as they doing their best on a small budget. Granted mistakes have been made but it doesn't help anyone involved in the development, when consumers are hostile to us.

A little disappointed but at the same time, I applied to join the pc master because options. If I was still a console player I'd probably be more disappointed but not by much. On the PC, AC has just released a massive update and I can be more than happy playing with that and other games until PCars can put together a package they are happy with. There's no point in releasing something that will get trashed in reviews because of frame rate issues or parts of the game unfinished and buggy. The AI has to be good as well because all the earliest reviews will be done with the AI and if they aren't up to snuff they'll take a hit in the metacritic scores.

Another delay. Hmm... (Makes me want to hold off my decision to buy a GTX Titan X, although most likely that won't be the case...)

But yeah. I've got school business, I'm fine with the delay.

If that's the case, then when the game is released it'll be perfect. Except it won't be. It's not about perfection, that's just the marketing tag line. The game just isn't ready, it's taking longer than they expected to work everything out.

I know people like to think this is an exact science but it's not, every single game is a work in progress even after release. I'm not happy about the delay, who would be? But I'd be a lot less happy if I fired up the game on April 2 and it had a whole bunch of issues because I'd probably just put it away and play something else until they worked all the bugs out.

To say I'm miffed by this news of yet another delay would be an under statement. However, I'm not going to get all emotional, throw my toys out of the pram and cancel my pre order like some say they will. I've invested around £600 for this one game, what with buying the PS4, T300RS wheel and pre ordering PCars so I'm committed (or should be lol).
No, I'll do what the British are renowned for and wait patiently in line for it :D
There's no point getting angry, resentful or just plain rude to others over a video game. Anyways, the delay gives me more time to save up for a proper racing rig instead of my current computer desk, so it ain't all bad for me :)

This is just ridiculous. Sadly, I will be canceling my preorder this weekend and pick up Driveclub finally...

EDIT: let it be known that I *really* want Project CARS, but I can't support a company that can' get their stuff together. one or two delays, eh, it happens, but we went from November to March, then April, and now May.

Yep that's exactly how I feel. And the fact one of there delays was because there were to many other game coming out means that they aren't confident about sales.

Cancelling my preoder going to get this game when it comes down in price not worth the full price tag. Why dont they just say the games delayed and not put another date on it ffs? Im done with this uncertanty of release dates. I dont care if you guys can wait with the excuse "Id rather play a full game when its out." This just shows its not even close to being done. Id rather buy a game from a company which can meets its deadlines so far theyve missed 2 whats the bet they push it back? Going to get hate for this comment but this is only an opinion from me.

Yet were all on a fan page of a game that is king of delays. The irony.

It is frustrating to see another delay and so close to release you could smell it!
But the reason it's so annoying is because the game appears to be so good, this game, if it lives up to expectations will be the racing game we've all being longing for since forever. Therefore I don't see the point in cancelling pre-orders and going off to buy another game you know doesn't hold the promise that Project CARS does. Seems a bit like cutting off one's nose to spite their face - however each to their own.
I am extremely disappointed that I won't be playing this as I had hoped in another 3 weeks but in the grand scheme of things it's really not such a big deal. I can wait - got no choice really. ;)

I don't have a ps4 or good enough pc yet so this doesn't bother me at all :D

I'll continue with my asthmatic ps3, playing gran(dfather) turismo :D

Only in May? I'm grilling already,neighbor :)
