And Microsoft's response would be "more powerful, half the size, free backwards compatibility for all generations of Xbox, 4k disc player, etc"
If price is the only thing that matters, why the hell would you buy the PS4 Pro for nearly twice the price of a PS4 Slim with so little difference in performance?
It's also more than about power. The xbox one started off quite rocky. Forcinig the Kinect early on because they believed so much in this product when it was very used and horribly implemented. Not only that, but doing so because they believed that Xbox 360 owners were definitely going to get the Xbox one, not realising that Sony plain and simply offered a much better product.
But now they are better than before, but the price point is still too high, $399 would have been much better. The "S" model is $199, why pay 2.5 times more than the "S" for something that's not even 2.5 times more powerful. It's about 45% more powerful. It makes getting the "S" a much better deal honestly. I hope Microsoft changes their mind. I really do like the "X". But its just too highly priced.
Yeah if the Pound goes down the drain it could end up being £1000 £449 is a bit of a joke though tbh.
Ironic considering a PC with same specs would cost you more than twice the cost of the console.Insanely expensive for what it is, PC is just a much, much better choice.
Sony will probably do all that and more with PS5......or do something new ...who knows ehDisc based backwards compatibility with 360 games and now original Xbox! ... and a UHD player, everything Sony didn't do with the Pro.
True Dat$499 is £392... but knowing rip off Britian it will be something like £450.
This sounds like the "jam tomorrow" approach that's left PS4 owners with no Gran Turismo game to play for three years while in the same time period there have been two Forza Motorsports and two Forza Horizons on Xbox One.Sony will probably do all that and more with PS5......or do something new ...who knows eh
that's not true thoughIronic considering a PC with same specs would cost you more than twice the cost of the console.
Its a bare minimum, mind you.
You're talking absolute rubbish, it's on par with an RX 580, which is £250. 1070 destroys it. Where do you guys get your info from?If it is £450 it's the bargain of the decade, a graphics card to match it alone is around £320 at best (GTX1070)
I feel really bad for the people who miss out on PC exclusives too, especially racing sim fans.Same here. PC is a huge hassle. I'm so glad it isn't the only thing I have. I like it for what I use it for, but I feel really bad for the people who only have PC and have no idea what they're missing on console in terms of exclusives. Especially PS4 exclusives. They'll probably get PCSX4 someday though.
Not arguing with your other points, but an equivalent PC is still quite a bit more expensive (in terms of the initial price, that is). The One X is also a 4K Blu-ray player, so it also has that going for it.that's not true though
Scorpio is £450 and has basically an RX 580 graphics card (£250) and an underpowered mobile jaguar CPU, which is not even on par with a i5 7400 (£160), with everything else added together the PC it will cost more, but nowhere near twice as much, but you get way more benefits with the open platform than microsofts locked down mid range PC box...
So for the price of 2.5 Xbox one s's you can get one Xbox one x... Sony's response "$399"
Where the hell were you when I was buying my GTX1070 last year?If it is £450 it's the bargain of the decade, a graphics card to match it alone is around £320 at best (GTX1070)
Yea PC is always more expensive on the offset but you make a lot of it back with cheaper games and free online. That Windows 10 though is unnecessary, you can get OEM keys on ebay for like a fiverNot arguing with your other points, but an equivalent PC is still quite a bit more expensive (in terms of the initial price, that is). The One X is also a 4K Blu-ray player, so it also has that going for it.
$500 is too expensive, $400 is reasonable price.
I don't think this will be useful for who doesn't have a 4k tv. I'll keep my One S
£450 to play 16 years old games.Microsoft is biggest joke everIf it is £450 it's the bargain of the decade, a graphics card to match it alone is around £320 at best (GTX1070)

You'd be really tired after that...500$ box to play 16 year games.
It's all about the games....we'll see how it does. Switch is $100 less - be interested to see their presentation tomorrow. I've never been on the bandwagon of more power equals better system. Just ask Sega Dreamcast
Yeah, it sounded like I was saying it was a bad system - but that's not what I meant. I meant as far as sales, etc go - it was a failure. I've never played it, but it looked awesomeYou'd be really tired after that...
Best. Console. Ever.
It was a great console. Just a real shame it didn't work out.Yeah, it sounded like I was saying it was a bad system - but that's not what I meant. I meant as far as sales, etc go - it was a failure. I've never played it, but it looked awesome
Why do you want MS to fail?Yeah it is too bad. I miss Sega. Deep down I want MS to fail, which is at the heart of my comment to be honest (although FM4 is still one of the best games all time). But- I hope for Xbox fans it's good. I still don't have a current gen console, but I will be getting a PS4 instead of Xbox almost for sure, this hasn't convinced me otherwise
