Whoa! Anyone who has HDMI, go to Display Settings and select RGB Full Range (HDMI). The black levels are greatly increased. Very helpful for those with LCD panels.
The DLNA media streaming is awesome too. If you're running Vista, you can stream out audio and video as long as the PS3 supports the file. Anything in your Documents folder (C:\Users\*username*\) can be shared, even files within iTunes (except for protected files).
Just go to your Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center > and make sure Media Sharing is turned on. Vista and your PS3 will automatically find each other and Vista will start streaming files to your PS3. You can even copy over files from Vista to the PS3.
Xbox 360 FTL!
Yeah, the black levels are nicely improved, but everything else has way too much contrast for my liking.Whoa! Anyone who has HDMI, go to Display Settings and select RGB Full Range (HDMI). The black levels are greatly increased. Very helpful for those with LCD panels.
Use Windows media player 11, go to Tools>Options>Library>Configure Sharing...and check "sharing my media. Your PC will recognize the PS3 at "Unknown device", Try to do a scan on the PS3, the windows media player logo will appear on your PS3, you then can play all the supported music, movies, and pictures from My music, My video, and my pictures folders located in your My Documents folder.
I really recommend that you download and install Windows Media Player 11. This feature works great, even with the fairly weak wireless signal that I sometimes get between my PS3 and the distant router . The PS3 just gets better with each Firmware update.Nope, only Windows Media Player 10. It's the not the same. Oh well.
Heh, they changed it back to 5/24.Duċk;2669021...Well, looks like there'll be no Warhawk beta today.
Duċk;2669094OK, Warhawk impressions...
It's okay. Aside from not being able to connect to the good servers (with 25+ people in them), and the unintuitive controls, and the lack of a helper guide, it's a decent game. It looks good, it sounds great (but it's a bit loud), but the gameplay is just... meh. I can see why people were mad when they ditched the single player.
I need to spend some more time with it, but at this point I wouldn't pay more than $15 for it. Maybe I'll get the hang of it and join busier servers, and I'd like it more which I'm hoping will be the case.
EDIT: Of course, it is a beta, so I guess I should be cutting it more slack.
THat definately sounds like confession of a bad player.
perform evasive manuevers with the right,
Duċk;2669107No brownie points for you!
Hey! Never knew that.
I just wish there was some tutorial or something, since most of my complaints stem from the lack of one.
But anyway. Maybe we should start a GTP clan or something, even though there'd be about 4 people in it.
It doesn't work with Windows XP. I need to use a USB Flashdrive, which I have, and used. But, it didn't work. I have no idea how to get the PS3 to accept it.
Okay okay sorry for the pokes at the bad player jokes
Anyway, yea, actually there is an online manual And you'll constantly see hints pop up unless you turn them off, which tell you how to do things like climb objects, hang from walls, drive, fly, etc.
You can boost with R2, fire with R1 and fire special weapons with L1. holding L1 will often "lock on" to a target.
When using the sniper rifle, pressing R3 will zoom, pressing it again will zoom further. L3 will take you out of zoom at any point. R1 is fire.
Pressing and holding the right analog stick "up" or "down" while in the warhawk will allow you to do an evasive manuever, and letting go halfway through the "loop" will redirect you and turn you around. Very handy for air battles, and learning to use it can keep you alive to get health. Pressing the right stick left or right will cause you to do a barrel roll and you can avoid missles and take "less" damage that way, as some bullets will hit you.
Hopefully that helps you out!
Oh yea, "X" is jump

Anyway, thanks for the help. 👍
Speaking of the beta, we're under NDA. Looks like you guys get no pics from me.THanks for the rep, lol.
You really should check out the official beta forum, they've got some interesting threads going there. I've created one, but it doesn't seem like anyone wants to participate in a beta like they are supposed to, they just want to complain and whine instead of reporting problems and issues, or offering feedback.
I am using Windows XP, and I found the following information in a post at boardsus.playstation.com, followed the instructions, and it worked perfectly for me.Do I need Vista for this streaming crap to work, or just WMP 11?
