It amazes me how some people are arguing otherwise, yet it's so obvious. These people must be mentally retarded or something.

I think the majority are the people that think GT5 > *

Some of these guys on here need to get there brain checked.

I have both consoles and I find live to be more stable.

However. My preferred choice would have been PS purely because I own a G27+GT2.
More choice, plain and simple, no favouritism at all, purely because I have another option wheel wise.

Got to be the Xbox version for me though.

A bit annoying really. I only ever post around GTPlanet, predominantly a PS zone.

Shift 2 was exactly the bloody same. No steering lag, better visuals.

Maybe I'm going to have to find a similar site to this but Xbox biased. Doubt very much I'll find a site as good as this though.

Just got back from ASDA. Eggs box version.

Off to bed. Post my first humble opinions tomorrow.

Well I got the ps3 version and had a very quick go and the only issue I saw was coming out of the Pits on the Melbourne track but obviously that was all being done automatically. Had no issues of slow downs while driving.
2 of my friends had a much longer go last night and also said no issues on their ps3 copies.

What's really bugging me, GFX wise, is the jagging on the tyres...that's looking like it's a PSX game.

Some people will not accept facts if they dont have the game/console that is clearly a better product. Why do you think there are so many people that refuse to try a different game other than GT5? They dont want to see another game that can actually do better, so they close their eyes and deny.

Its how fanboyism started.

Fanboyism starts when people make a blanket statement (like you just did) without weighing in other important reasons behind other people's opinions. It's a cop out term by those who simply can't accept that people have every right to stand behind their opinions.

Well, after I've tried both versions, I can tell you the xbox version is much better, but this is only my opinion. Better fps, better graphics, no freezes. If you have both consoles, I say you have to buy it for the xbox. (I saw the biggest difference at Spa)
But, on Xbox version, I couldn't costumize all the Fanatec GT2 wheel buttons, it is a bit frustrating

Xbox.

First impressions very good with one gripe i seem to have.

Graphics are a vast improvement over last year. Last year I stuck with the PS3 version.

T-cam is probably faster but I always race cockpit.
Tried Force India, Mclaren,Redbull and my eventual career choice Lotus. Lol.

First thing to strike me was the rear view mirrors of all things.
Must have altered the FOV because they have more screen space.
No need to keep turning the view to check.
Actually I found last years mirrors pretty poor and must have been running at 5 FPS.
These beauties are matching the forward view frame rate wise and more detail than last year too. Not tried them off a full grid yet though.

Funny first impression huh.

Drive wise differences being,
I can lock my wheels up under braking. Couldn't do that at all last year for some reason.
Brakes are also much quicker at slowing you down. I had been running 2010 all this week and my brake points were well off. Had to keep telling myself, don't worry it will stop. Odd feeling.

More progressive throttle needed too, coming out of corners, no more stomping on the throttle. Some areas you can get straight on, hairpins etc forget it.

Spins are a lot more realistic and don't feel scripted once your into one.
Example. Melbourne I span out parallel to a barrier and was inching towards it down a straight. Foot still on brake hoping to stop. As I gained a more respectable speed I let off the brake and no throttle just steered to roll out of it.
Hard to explain.

My gripe, well the tracks seem a lot more forgiving kerb wise.
Areas where I misstimed my apex's I was thinking, oh here comes a warning or penalty.
Bugger all.

Seeing some of the AI timings though I'm thinking I'm going to need all that Kerb lol.

Anyhow. Called in sick and got the day off to race.

See ya.

Thanks for this. Further confirmation PS3 users such as myself have been shafted

Stating an opinion is perfectly fine and I can respect that. Not willing to look in another direction and writing it off is fanboyism. Look at my comment...and look at what it was in a reply to.

Opinion is just that...not a fact. So saying the PS3 version looks the best, because this person "will never own a XBox" is a pretty blanketed statement.

I would have to agree that xbox version is a lot bet looking than ps3, this has happened on a lot of games. I do own both consoles and have obviously a copy for each as not all my friends are on same console. Ps3 games that run at full 1080p are few and far between. Xbox games all seem to have the graphics edge over ps3. Except obviously gt5 which is in a class of it's own and will be for a long time.

FM4. 👍

Also note GT5 looks great sometimes...sometimes can look downright awful. But I do get your point.

I just recently got a Xbox and am pretty amazed at the games I played on the PS3, now seeing them on the Xbox. Sometimes it subtle, but most of the time the performance and eye candy is just so much better. Its odd.

I really don't see the problem with those tires? Must look different when your playing?

It is hard to tell the difference when you have a blind outlook on anything not on a PS3, I agree.

Ok game arrived today

Frame rate is pretty average and the scenery looks pretty average sometimes. And I purposely crashed into another car at high speed which only involved me and that car and as the game went to rewind mode it froze.

However this has not affected my driving at all. This is my first time playing an F1 game using a DFGT with all assists off and I immediately got to grips with the handling easily. Btw do they use TC in real life? I remember hearing that they do but I didn't think so..

AI is awesome, except for one practice session I did where I tried to let them past but they stayed behind. Other than that they fly past me if I slow down and they will fight back If you try to pass them etc

Overall I'm very impressed, however I don't see why they didn't make the PS3 version perform as well as the other systems considering that the PS3 has a better selection of racing wheels. I tried it with the six axxis and that is no fun at all. This is a game that NEEDS a wheel.

Oh and the tires, they are round and black.... Not sure what I'm missing here as I never played 2010 but they are perfectly fine for me

Been playing this on xbox for a while and every now and then it's hesitating, comin out of pits, and in race it will stop for about a second and then carry on, sound goes bit funny too. Anyone else havin issues? Or is my box on its way out my window?

Sebastian Vettel development with playstations ( GT1 , GT2 , GT3 , GT4 , GT5 ) He played playstation alot and now he is the best. like lucas ordonez. and jann. so ps3 owns. with physics + experience. xbox 360 more for a little less experienced people.

This is one of the most....no, the most ignorant statement in this thread so far.

:lol::lol::lol::lol:
BTW, people who are really interested in sim racing are playing on PC.. I guess you've heard about simbin games, rF or iRacing.. after you try them you will say console games are for amateurs. But, playing on consoles are not for become a pro driver. it is just for fun. and if it is for fun, I want to enjoy it. Mostly I don't want to see games with graphic like F1 2011 on PS3 and to have as much bugs in a game as GT5 has.

The second place winner of Le Mans LMP2 might desagree with you....

Oh yes, I bet if we you ask him, he will say he's preparing for his races with GT5 :sly: He is clothing his driver into Barbie suits..

I think we should get back to the original topic. Words for nothing, if somebody can compare the 2 versions, he can see the significant difference. I bet guys at Sony are already planning the PS4, because it is time to get over Microsoft again..
