PS3 PSN login error

I never assumed people don't think, you are being silly. All I said was Sharky was not thinking what I am thinking.

There is no point in 'enlightening you' on my thoughts other then the one I posted, I think there will be a FW update very soon.

Then why bother allude to something else?

Further, you could possibly have guessed I was being a tad bit sarcastic, perhaps.

I didn't elude to anything other then the FW update.

The attitudes/ego's on this board are out of control. Why is it necessary to always try and debate such trivial things here?

And blanketing the entire board is less trivial? Time and a place, don't get sucked into an argument if you don't want to, but don't blame the whole forum because of how you think some of those members act. I'm not saying this particular issue is trivial or not, but it's certainly questionable to label us all.

You just proved arora's point mate, well done 👍

Fire with fire, he proved his own point and I pointed out he proved his own point, I'm not stupid enough to not realise I'm carrying on a trend which is much the same, but I find it distasteful to be generalised and I wish to make that known. But I guess you both just proved... oh wait.

After having a close look some throphies are missing...

In midnight club: The roar and zone ability throphies arent unlocked while they are done in the game :/ so no way to redo them and get the throphies back :/

Did the problem fix itself? I'm not so sure of that. Lets just see what happens, and I'm most sure you are not thinking what I am.

In my case it really did :)! Well i didnt do anything really... didnt instal any firmware or change the date... that was weird, because i thought it was a bigger problem! Didnt seem like it! Servers?

Or I just dislike people that make trite commentary and then when asked to further explain they just deflect the questions.

You were doubtful the problem would fix itself, but it has. You also then think it is paramount for Sony to soon patch this, but as I stated, it will not be an issue for 4 years. Thus, Sony can just patch the firmware when they do the next major update release, as there is no rush.

So again, I ask you to explain what your thought is on this.

If you'd bother to read the thread, you would have known it had nothing to do with the servers, just the internal clock attempting to roll over to a non-existent date in GMT. Now that the date does exist on both calenders, the issue is resolved.

Midnight Club is a poor test game, the trophies are notoriously buggy as it is, particularly after the South Central add-on, I can NEVER platinum that game no matter how hard I try simply because the game won't register when I complete goals and this is just one of many of LAs functionality issues. However in theory you could download a save which hasn't got them done, or restart the game (back up your normal save first) go as far as you need to in order to get the pop, delete save and copy your old one back over. Job done... in theory.

I dont see why you guys are picking on arora... misundestandings are corrent in these parts!

I dislike people pretending someone made trite comments, I said what I ment, plain and simple.

I still don't think the problem fixed itself but it might have. As far as no rush, maybe but it's usually a good idea to bite things sooner.

My thought is that we will see a FW update soon.

I still dont understand what they did to fix the problem, without we doing nothing at all...

My PS3 didn't work yesterday. It works now, sans software/firmware update. Thus, due to the issue being clearly verified as not a PSN issue, but rather an internal one, it has fixed itself. Not sure what other evidence you need, the nature of the problem was clearly explained a few pages back, and if you'd bothered to read this thread you may have been aware of this.

Well, I reset my internal ps3 clock and fixed mine right off..................

I feel purple crabs crawling on my......... never mind

The above kind of suggests it's fixed, and doesn't really state they actually did anything. Maybe they did maybe they didn't, lets not get caught up in the details, it's working now and we've been green lighted for normal service so let's make the most of it. Whether or not a firmware update comes soon makes no difference to us now, and will probably grab our attention for a short while before we just do what the PS3 is designed for and get some entertainment from it.

Ok, so it fixed itself after 24 hours, huh?

So far this is the best explanation I've seen, and apparently removing the battery does sync the internal clock, but I'm in no rush. If there isn't a patch released later today, perhaps tonight I'll go ahead and remove the RTC battery.

Heck, I might do it any way just as an excuse to clean all the dust that surely has been building up inside our PS3 for the last three years! :embarrassed:

This is exactly what I was thinking...
Just out of curiousuty, did you do it? (I get scared when I think of all those screws and wires). :scared:

Coming from software development, I find it very unlikely that problems just fix themselves. ;) That said, I really don't care what they did or didn't do; all I care about is that it's fixed. That it was fixed without having to install FW or other updates (for now) is just a bonus. :)

My PS3 started working after midnight, I guess the problem fixed itself.

However, the night before I played a PSN game (Blue Toad Murder Files) and got a few trophies in it. All those were gone.

Apart from that, everything looked normal and nothing else was - that I could tell - missing.

Nice to see Sony took the 'wait until March 2nd' stance on this one! 👍 I have to laugh though, I thought we were past this kind of thing, its so last century!

One question, what is a Leap Year Bog? :scared:
They're just taking the piss.

This has nothing to do with the PSN.

Hundreds of game sites are reporting it as a PSN error still even though they mention in the article it's only effecting Fat consoles.

For the last damn time this has nothing to do with the PSN.
But when Sony are saying, "PlayStation Network Status Update" and "PSN Error Update" and "PlayStation Network Service Restored" what else are we supposed to call it?

For those who wanna understand why it fixed itself:

internal clock jumped from 28 feb. to 29 feb. instead of 1 march. ?OK
the os clock jumped directly from 28 feb. to 1 march ? ok?
So the 2 clock inside the same system got different dates (and for the os clock there was no 29 feb. at all for this year, so leaving to an logical error) thus hanging up time managament, that's why it jumped back in time to 1999...
Now the two clocks got sync again (no 29 feb date that doesn't exist conducts to logical error, so they are able to sync (talk) togehter again). this fixing the problem of it's own.

now it can be that the problem only occurs because of 2010 and the rest of the calander not because it already survived 3 years, and that giving us all possiblities (leap nonleap year) but i think also sony will fixx this in an upcoming major update sometime. Now that the problem is resolved there is no rush.

For the trophies. you didn't sync with the server before than they are gone
