No i was playing on Normal, that was my first play through and after 26 hours i didn't had it every weapon upgraded. And i was scavenging i think pretty accurately. At least i thought i did. But i was surprised at the end. Maybe while you playing on + you get more those scavenging points.

Currently i;m on my second play through on Hard to Unlock Survivor and then ill play Survivor +

Exactly, I said you are not supposed to do it on your first playthrough, there isn't enough parts to do it, it's meant for new game plus . You must have been exploring a ton which proves my point, I took 11 hours and did a fair bit of exploring myself :) .

Ohhhhhh i missed that. It is unlocked. :grumpy: And now I'm 25% on Hard :guilty:

* SPOILER *

I think ill start on Survivor now :yuck:

Yeah you was probably right to put that in tags

I think I'll play on normal till I'm done. Then collect all the rest of the stuff through loading chapters etc. Then do survivor/survivor+

So, finally finished! I avoided these forums, since i saw that US-SR got his copy early, but i see it went cleanly here, in terms of spoilers.:dopey:

I got the game on friday, started playing at 5 pm, finished today at 3 am, counting 14,5 hours of gameplay. When i'm reading your deathcount guys, i almost feel bad for my 98 deaths. :D But probably some more (because of the save glitch, which cost me 3 hours), which weren't counted in the stats. I also searched the surroundings quite a lot, but still found only the smaller half of all collectibles.

And i must say this is THE game. People used to say, that PS3 has no games and i have to agree now. It has no games, only art. Last of Us has the best story i've ever seen in a game, Heavy Rain or Fahrenheit aren't even coming close imo. The way both of the character develop is great, every story move and twist i watched on the edge of my chair and (mild ending spoilers ahead)
the ending left me sitting speechless through the whole subtitles and even longer (yeah, it was 3 am :-D) , because it was not only so emotionally tense, but it was totally "grey"... don't know how else to put it. Not entirely good, not entirely bad... You don't see this very often and not at all so well made.

I must say that the minimalistic soundtrack did its job too and it did it very well. If this game (or should i say piece of art) doesn't get at least 10 awards, i will be disappointed.

Though the AI isn't as stellar as we were often told, it didn't break the game for me, because it's the story and the universe that matters most in here. The belieavibility, rawness and brutality drags you in with a blink of an eye. When i finished, i went to dark bathroom to splash water on my face and i really expected clicker to jump out on me. :D

I followed this game since day 1 and i can't believe it's already over. I am mostly against creating game series, but in this case, i want more of Last of Us. Also i hope the story DLC will be out soon, because i am so getting that! :dopey:

15/10, would buy again many times. And everyone else should do the same.

DLC for this I'll get. I don't mind supporting game developers when they make an amazing game like this.

I finally completed my first playthrough, it's quite exhausting isn't it? But you just don't want it to stop, this type of game I could play forever.

I'll insert this into spoiler tags as a precaution, but I spent most of the second half of the game amusing myself:

When there is an overwhelming collection of clickers and/or bloaters that you need to get past, I think I enjoyed myself a little too much by attracting some of them to the same spot with a smashed bottle/brick, then chucking a molotiv into the middle of the group to watch and hear them burn in agony, where upon other clickers would hear the screams and run towards the sound, which of course is right in the middle of the fire and thus they hilariously burst into flames too, finished off by a nail bomb as blood, fungas and infected bodies fly everywhere.

Felt good after the grief they caused me in some parts. Once I aquired the flamethrower, I hardly ever put it down either, pretty much that and nail bombs saw me to the end, all in the name of survival, of course :sly:

I gotta say, after nearly 2 playthroughs, I have come to the conclusion that Ellie is the best character in the game imo, so much depth to her and I love her attitude !. Of course all the characters are great, I just liked Ellie the best :)

BTW you get so much more out of the game if you participate in optional conversations and explore to hear as much dialogue as possible between the characters. The gameplay is really good but you are really playing TLOU for the story, the characters and the overall experience. I just put another 4-5 hours into the sp today and I just can't get enough, I could listen to Joel and Ellie talk for days not to mention the supporting cast of personalities. Doubt I will ever get bored of watching the cutscenes either, the voice-acting is just brilliant and the production values so high !!. 10/10 for me !!

You folks are so far ahead of me. Tomorrow morning though I can resume and get on with completing Lincoln - I also have eleven days off!

Bought it yesterday, just met Ellie, so far I like it but there's one (understandable) design choice that totally takes me out of the immersion of the game - the fact that your partners don't seem to be spotted by enemies. Worst so far was with Robert, where I used stealth to get to his office and then Tess comes sprinting along behind me without a care in the world.

Playing on Survivor now, 50% completed so far. This is so intense even knowing where enemies are but they behave so much different from Normal difficulty.

I have to be patient, kill Clickers with Shiv knife, kill infected with choke grip, kill soldiers with bullets and mostly with bombs and Molotov bottles. Not because it's fun but it's because more efficient. Lure them in with bottle breaking in one spot and then throw Molotov or bomb. I love this game.

Survivor + i can't imagine what to expect, i know only that Normal + is the same game as far enemies AI difficulty although a little easier, because i have full Health bar from start and every weapon i found is already carried you from previous run, it's left upgraded to the point where you left it, if for example you fully upgraded The Bow then you find Bow fully upgraded.

Love it, can't wait for Survivor + to kill those enemies once more, revenging for all i have experienced. Wrrrrrrrrr :yuck:

So + is just basically the game again but with everything carried over?

I was hoping for a difference. Maybe a harder difficulty. More enemies. I remember going through a door to 2 clickers. Maybe that should have 4 clickers. Give us a challenge.

Have any of you guys encountered any showstopping issues while playing? I got the Survival Edition on Friday and had it lock up my PS3 multiple times. I noticed the crash seemed to occur during scene transitions, especially when transitioning from interiors to exteriors (when a cut scene would normally play). I know that after the game's protracted initial loading and data caching that there are no loading sequences elsewhere, so I figured I may have had issues with my hard drive during certain moments. I restored to a known good hard drive and played for a couple of hours last night without issue.

Hopefully I resolved my issues. I'd hate to have to replace my PS3 just before the next generation begins. Especially since my PS3 is an original 20GB model with full backward compatibility.

It's an amazing game though, and a great send-off for the PS3. The prologue alone was worth the price of admission. It just makes me wish we could see these exclusives come to PCs. What could The Last of Us have looked like on a modern gaming PC vs a piece of 7 year old technology that Naughty Dog has managed to wring every last ounce of performance from?

Found this on Reddit - a Uncharted movie easter egg

Got the last of us today. :) 👍

Anything that I need to worry/know about? Bug/glitches, Easter eggs?

Will play the game on hard!

Played a fair bit today and loving it so far.

I won't go into detail on what parts impressed me the most so far for spoilers sake but it seems every new scene and sequence impresses me more and more, can't wait to explore what's to come.

Only negative like many people said so far is the AI, they run around and make noise when i'm trying to be stealthy and don't seem to get detected by enemies which is odd but in the grand scheme of things it doesn't ruin things.

how is.the multiplayer?
i dont think is worthy to buy the game only for some hours of story.

From what it sounds like, this game isn't for people who are strictly multiplayer. It's story is what should draw you in. And it sounds like it is fairly long as well.

I would like to purchase this game soon. It looks very fun!

thanks.

I believe there is more infected/clickers. On one place there was more or atleast it felt like it.

No, from what I've experienced it's the same game only little easier because full Health and already upgraded weapons you find along the way. Enemies still are in the same places in the same numbers. At least on Normal +, I've played 33% and quit it so i could start Survivor and then finish Survivor +

I've played up to the point where i find Riffle and it already had sniper scope and it was upgraded from my previous run. 👍

Who doesn't love the Bow !!! ???
:sly:

People who are talking about the AI issues (main negative of the game) have to think about gameplay vs immersion present here. No friendly AI is perfect and I understand that it may break the immersion for a brief few moments but the alternative for ND would to make those AI inconsistencies blow your cover which I bet you would be much more frustrated about, especially playing on higher difficulties where you could be spending 10+ minutes taking out an area of enemies without being spotted. ND had to chose between gameplay and immersion here and I think that they made the right choice.

Actually Ellie broke my cover at one point. Me and her standing behind a wall. I was intending to let the two enemies just walk past cause I knew there was a load up front and I had only a little ammo. Yet Ellie just ran out shouting "Come on then you a**hole" and jumped on his back. I had to run out and get the other one.

Killed 3 infected clickers with a Molotov cocktail. :)

Shame that it's not part of the trophy collection.

Picked it up yersterday. Got the Ellie Limited Edition and also bought the season pass too as that didnt come with the version I bought.

Cant wait to get stuck in.
