Well. Ot took me 20 hours and 38 minutes to complete my first playthrough. Was on Hard difficulty, and what an experience. The ending was somewhat dissapointing though, but overall, I definately think this is Game of The Year.

Looked at the Trophy set, and I'm really annoyed that 4 of the trophies are for multiplayer. Seriously Naughty Dog, no one bought the game for the friggin multiplayer. Stop forcing those of us with trophy OCD to play through your crappy multiplayer!

Multiplayer ain't actually that crap, have you played it yet ?, I have really enjoyed my time with it so far, particularly survivor mode. I do agree that time-consuming trophies for multiplayer is annoying, should have just kept it to winning a game on each mode.

Regarding the ending I see where you are coming from in saying it was somewhat disappointing but I found it fine myself. Nothing ludicrous like another game that came out recently but it does the job and presents some strong ideals.

Haven't tried it yet, but I really fail to see how it's all that different from the multiplayer in the Uncharted franchise. In any case, this really isn't the kind of multiplayer that appeals to me. Though I'll probably force myself to play it just to get the trophies.

It's not the actual ending that bugs me, it's just how it was handled. A 5 minute cutscene is not enough to properly conclude the story of the characters.

So how does this compare to uncharted 2? I still feel that 2 is a lot better then 3

That's because Uncharted 3 was horrible. :)

But you really can't compare it to Uncharted, as it's a completely different game and genre. The story isn't complex, but the characters and their interactions with one another is outstanding. Voice acting and character animations are the usual premium quality that you'd expect from a Naughty Dog game. Same goes for the graphics, and the sound department has been given a lot more love this time.

Gameplay is stellar, and the enemy AI is probably the best in any 3rd person game. They genuinly pose a threat as they work together and actually seem to give a damn whether they live or die. Your allied AI partners are also pretty smart, aside from the occasional running and loud noises during times where you are trying to be stealthy.

Overall, I'd very much recommend you to buy it. It's a fantastic game, and a true testament to Naughty Dogs capabilities.

I'm not going to compare Last of Us to Uncharted, or Tomb Raider, but at least 1 out of 3 DLC for LoU will be for single player adventure.

Ill wait to see that Naughty Dog keep their promises.

Door cut scenes would be an issue though.
Yeah, but I suppose a few more could have been made for that eventuality, especially as most Ellie action segments are in the game, such as takedowns.

Not complaining though, as this is my kind of game, mostly slow and careful...mostly...

Just started the game on survivor. Is it really hard or just impossible? :D

No it just Hard, if you treat enemies like they real, you take time to kill them quietly and patiently.

This is my tactics for Survivor, almost 80% now.

Runners - sneak and kill with choke
Clickers - sneak and kill with Shived knife
Blowers - kill with Molotov and Bomb, + shotgun

Unarmed Humans - 1. sneak and kill with choke, lure them into one spot using empty bottle and throw there Molotov.
2. Or use the Bow, it's best out of all weapons because don't reveal your position so they wont run immediately to the place where you hide. Sniper rifle and other weapons show them where you are and they can flank you. Bow is the killing masterpiece. 👍

Armed Humans - use Bow, or try to lure them into one spot, use Molotov or Bomb. Also if they hide somewhere, behind some object, throw Molotov there. Molotov unlike bomb immediately immobilize them, I've notice that they can avoid Bomb by running away fast, so the bomb is just lying there doing nothing.

Molotov is efficient + fun to watch. Bomb is risky and has delayed effect but also good.

Just did the same, 28% in after 2 hours and 40 minutes and not so hard imo, even though lots of stuff (craftable items, upgrade items) is missing. Even that scene from demo didn't seem so hard as on my first gameplay on normal, Benny Hill music would fit it nicely though. :D It'll get harder later on i guess. ^^

ussr: Thanks for the tips, i'm sure i'll need them. 👍

Top tip to anyone playing is to get good with the bow. It's like a silenced sniper. Plus you get to pick up your arrows after

It's been a long time since I did a game on the ps3 and I'm slighty disapointed by the overall graphical quality. They should have wait 5 more month and release it on PS4 because the story so far is really amazing.

Nope. This isn't Crytek, where all that matters are graphics...
besides, the graphics are great as it is.

Just completed the game on hard, 17 hours.

Awesome, awesome game. For sure a contender in the GOTY.
Amazing kills and takedowns, granades
The story is cool. Ending is okay.
Naughty Dog 10 points

Loved it 👍

Trophies glitched, Didn't earn the easy :(

Some people have been reporting that aswell. You should try deleling the patch and replay the final part of the game (refuse the prompt to install the patch) and don't skip anything even when you reach the credits, if that doesn't work exit the game and do the same thing as I said above (refusing the prompt to install the patch) but this time play without being connected to PSN.

The more I play the multiplayer the more I think it's awesome and not just some tacked on game mode. You really need to work with your team, use strategy, and conserve ammo or you just don't stand a chance. I'm still figuring things out as I'm playing but I have the hang out of it for the most part. If you don't enjoy it at first give it a good chance. It took me about 10 rounds before I really felt like I had any clue what I was doing. But once I did my enjoyment skyrocketed.

Borrowed a copy from a buddy & finished it today. All I can say is that the story in this game is amongst the my top 3 favorites. I absolutely love the cutscenes, the dialogue, & the emotions this game just manages to evoke.

Wanted to put the rest of my thoughts in spoiler in case I might ruin part of what makes part of the story so good, imo & actually give away a rather revealing part to the ending.
Plus, the meaning behind morality in a post-apocalyptic world is so well defined by Joel's decision & Ellie's approval of it that it really ends up with Joel as sort of the anti-hero in conclusion. And I like that because it's different; there's a happy ending in the game, but not for the world.

Beyond that, the storyline also did a perfect job of explaining throughout the game of how Ellie is ultimately fine with Joel's lie since he finds Ellie as his reason to keep surviving & she finds her no longer afraid of being alone as long as Joel is around (as she somewhat explains to Sam & at the ranch). Both of them just end up having this desire to remain with the other & it ends up being worth more to them than saving a world that may already be past the brink of ever returning, even with a lie created as an excuse to keep that bond.

I agree with some that the ending could have been more, but somehow, I feel the tone in Ellie's voice when she accepts Joel's answer is where Naughty Dog just barely manages to get away with it as acceptable. Would have definitely loved more of a closing interaction, but I think it ends up working with the lie in place. Also did like that little attempt at a "twist" with Ellie actually being alive merely because the rest of the plot showed no one was safe from death, esp. Sam & Henry's emotional ending.

Anyway, that's at least my view of it. Really liked it & I actually hope there is no sequel. I think this is one of those games like that occasional movie that comes out every so often that just works by itself. Nothing more needed.

When I did it on normal the normal trophy popped immediately, however the easy then popped about 30 seconds later. I was ready to write a rant on here

I can't imagine not being able to craft molotovs and all that - upgrading, yes, makes it more of a challenge.

I am very disappointed that the Last of Us has only 24 trophies. I might have to reconsider not buying it now. How long is the SP btw?
