Without specifying I assume you mean in general and I would have to say, a little? I didn't notice it that much overall but tire noise sounds very different. I used to have it all the way down at 40 or 50 but now it's back at 100 with everything else and it fits in well.

So i have run multiple cars since the patch and all seem to have a major issue. None of them will build revs, they all feel like your climbing a steep hill in to high a gear. Cayman GT4 cant top 103 mph at Brands. The rev matching shift deal was an interesting surprise, that will take some getting used to although I heal and toe almost everything anyway, As of now the game is unplayable.

That's odd, I did 20 online races tonight and all were building good speed and revving. I'm primarily in the NSX GT3.
I'll have to try the Cayman tommorow, and yeah really enjoy downshift protection. It forces you to think about braking points, your corner entry and engine speed.

About the downshift thing, yea it makes me understand why race cars take turns in certain gears when you think they would be lower. It's not just about fuel

physics&ff still feels like **** :) just tryed 1lap on ring, loose setup and 1lap normal setup with aston martin gt4. both feels like*****

they can patch as much as they want. it is still the old nfs physic engine so the result will ever be *****

:)

Didn't really have any time to properly test the patch out, but from the looks of things, it doesn't seem to be a complete improvement to be quite frank. While the visual damage bug has been fixed, and the AI have been refined, the replay standings bug is still persistent, as well as the dreaded doubleshift bug (It's still there, but the downshift protection might have curbed it a bit, I at first thought my downshift button wasn't working ). Also, why did SMS remove the blue racing line? I thought it was an improvement over the green one as it was more visible. Although they're less likely to bug out and disappear, they're much longer, and I rarely see a portion of the track not covered by it, despite the assist set to 'Cornering Only'.

Of course, not everything can be fixed in one patch. However, the AI and damage improvements can at least allow me to start a career. Roll on Version 3.00.

is the bug (workaround) still present to see the replays at 60fps on PS4 (pause the replay, move to photo mode and then move again to replay)?

Tried it twice, from the looks of things, they've axed it.

Unable to test patch yet, probably not tonight either. Has the volume been increased?

Still very quiet - still having to run my surround sound system almost maxed out and still nowhere near the excellent audio feel and balance of PC1. Still far too weak an audio signal and still no life in my Buttkicker and Bass Shaker system - a real shame because the class leading tactile audio effects are probably somewhere in the game, but I just can't get to them at the moment.

GT5 / GT6 had default settings of 90 with the option of increasing to 120 which enabled me to use the game settings to increase a weak audio effects track to an acceptable level for tactile transducers. Maybe SMS could patch this audio and keep the standard default setting of 100, but add an option of increasing the audio tracks to 150 for those who like me are struggling with the weak volume levels in this game?

Yeah, that would be nice. For me, the volume in the game is great. In pCARS 1 I had to turn down my TV to a volume of 4 (normally I have it up at 18-20) in order for my wife not to complain. I’m up to 8-10 now without many complaints :) Overall, personally, the sounds are better balanced this time around, but maybe that’s cause I use internal TV speakers and not sound system.

I havr ko experience with these transducers or something. But if it just uses audio couodn't you get a 3.5jack to 7mm jack adaptor a cheap amplifier to amplify that sound?

What a pity. The replay at 30fps is very bad. I don't understand that decision (I don't see any more detail in the replay so I don't understand why SMS proposes a 30fps replay when the 60fps was possible). I hope they will change the replay at 60fps in a next patch (at least for PS4 PRO).
The replay on PC1 is better! I don't like also that to change the view we have to use the menu instead of using the square button as in PC1.

ok...

There are still bugs in this crap. When I finalize a test and leave the track, the menu gets standstill and the games does not go any further. I have to restart it. My camera is not working either. Frustrating

There is a distinct lack of bass on a surround system. I would usually use -36dB on my Yamaha amp but with this game it's up to -30dB. PC1 however was very loud but the mix was better at -40dB.

They've put rear engined cars to the rear surround speakers which is fine in theory but when you look at most 5.1 setups the rear speakers are satellites which don't have the same bass response as front speakers so the mix is very flat. My setup is 2 large Monitor Audio floor standers left and right with smaller speakers for the centre and rear speakers.

If you're in a rear engined car you don't just hear engine noise from the rear as the sound travels around the cabin. The sound design and mix needs to reflect that.

The update has been a lot better for me bar sounds. Being able to actually choose setups now is great. Not sure why the cars aren't set to stable by default. The ginetta is actually very predictable now. I feel like the FFB has been tweaked also as I'm getting a lot of information about what's happening. This may be because I've come from the GT Sport demo which is a little numb in comparison. I still personally wish it had a little more strength to it.

Didn't you think of just going to the games audio settings and reducing the level from the default 100 to a level that suited your TV / one where you didn't need to alter the TV volume? It's better to make the game with an audio setting that is too loud for some users as it is so easy to reduce it via the game settings, but when it's set too quiet it is difficult for headphone and other users.

The audio signal for the transducers is amplified by a subwoofer amplifier (tactile transducers and bass shakers are very similar to a bass loudspeaker without a paper cone - i.e. with just the vibrating part). The problem is that at the moment the audio signal is so weak that there isn't enough for my subwoofer amplifiers to work with - even with the amps at maximum, there isn't enough signal to enable the shakers to move and create some felt vibration.

In my view tactile transducers are the next thing to do to increase immersion after getting a wheel and can be cheaply added to a seat (or they can get expensive!) - I will be happy to give tips to anyone who is interested in increasing their immersion in this way.

- just send me a private message via GTPlanet.

I have thought of a way of improving my tactile effects, but it's a great shame that my system which worked perfectly on PC1 now doesn't work at all and will only work in the future if I make some complicated and expensive changes to my system (although it could work if SMS gave us the option to boost the audio up to PC1 levels).

Very interested to read your comments / observations and I think they help explain some of what I am experiencing - my audio system is not high end and all the speakers are small so a bigger proportion of the sound track than is ideal comes from the subwoofer. The surround speakers feel almost dead and there seems to be almost no bass. The audio on PC1 felt like it was all around me with different effects etc. - as if I was really in a noisy racing car, but now it is really dull and lifeless.

I love the game, but the audio in PC2 is a massive disappointment!

I always kept the game settings at 100% because at some point SMS recommended to adjust TV/sound card volume settings instead to get the best sound mix/quality. It was during the development of the game, but I stuck to it to this day, just in case :)

I've played pCars2 on my 1,200 watt surround sound and I'm not having any issues. I have two 300 watt 10inch Klipsch subs, 4 polk audio bookshelf speakers and a Boston Acustic center speaker. The bass can be felt upstairs through the floor or when sitting on furniture. No need for a transducer here. lol

I would appreciate this. I've got the audio running from HDMI through my monitor to external computer speakers via the 3.5mm jack, and with the monitor at 100, I have to turn up the external speakers pretty close to max for a reasonable volume.

I have a system with similar capabilities, trust my a transducer still makes it better.

Standard PS4 fps drops remain an issue, the screen is like blinking and it's distracting when you're taking corners.
