I think either MULE got stuck on pit road, or he parked it. I just got lapped so I parked it. I think this would have been more fun with a room for each class and more participants.

If you guys are up for organising another one some other time, I'd join, and hopefully do better this time and not get disconnected. I'm watching the real race now.

Yeah I think the cars need some more attention to make them a bit more even on "average". As-is that RX-8 may or may not be capable of 43's, and certainly not the 42's I saw the BMW run. (I think)

On average the RX-8 is good for 45's, 46's if you take care of the tires. I was able to do ~12 laps at these times.

I did a 1:47.180 and qualified last in the Vette, I couldn't get any more out of it..

I'd like to thank everyone for making my UCD frustrations and a week and a half of car balancing worth the effort. I had a great time, even though I didn't finish as well as I would have wanted and gran turismo decided to be it's usual online terror.

Congrats to Wardez on an inspiring drive to come home first over-all 👍
And another 👍 to w-g-e for edging out tony for 1st in GT.

I'll have full results race report and an NTSC replay up soon.

Thanks again, good racing everyone.

Good job with the race Tim and I'll second the congratulations to Eddie and Wes! 👍

A great drive by Biffy too, who after 2 hours of racing was only 10s or so behind Eddie. Great job!

I figured I'd try the LMP for the first time, but I'm pretty sure I'll opt for the GT class next time :). The Audi R10 wasn't much fun to drive and I struggled with tyre wear also, however I don't have anything to compare it to. After a number of crashes, the team called it a day just after half distance!

Sorry for quitting Tim, just wasn't having much fun this time. :indiff:

Thanks guys.:)

Shame the car wasn't to your liking Jason. I think Tony's 458 and my M3 were pretty even with comparable laptimes.

Oh I loved the car, don't get me wrong. It was just down on pace. Or maybe I'm just driving it wrong, who knows.

I parked it. Had a shower, got something to eat, came back out and ran a few more laps, then turned on the pre-race.

I had fun, but we started a bit too late, and I had my car set up wrong, so it was pushing everywhere, especially the bus stop.

You also got more speed out of that BMW than I thought possible. :embarrassed:

I got the cars as even as I could on my driving style but I really needed some more opinions. However I got this idea 2 weeks ago so CSL and Denilson gave me some assistance but It was pretty much the only wheel-man. Was everything I could do to grind out enough laps in the cars to get them as close as they were. Then of course the UCD decided to be a tedious PD menu-grind which chewed up lots of free time (my wife was less than pleased this week ;)).
Really pushing I can get them all to do a 43 but you guys shocked me with the 42's ... Well done. 👍

---

Shame about your camaro setup Mule, that car was actually one of my favorites. I was shocked at how agile it was. I was expecting a muscle car and that one turned out to be almost a twin of the BMW. But yeah, it did take some setup work to get it to stop understeering.

---

If I do this again for the LeMans, Spa, and Nurburgring 24 hour races I'll be more prepared in advance so hopefully we won't have to mix the classes and get a full grid of cars in each room with more help balancing everything for different driving styles and talent levels.

Thanks again everyone. I was fearing this would be a lot of wasted effort. But it turned out fun. :D 👍

Was great I had lots of fun racing Welsh and Tim until either I or they made errors and lost them :P. Enjoyed learning how to drive the car and was very happy on a 32.8 :D.

Im currently watching the real race on Motors Tv :).

Noticed the chicane has changed as it looks much shorter on the TV and where it looks like where we come out theyve put grass there.. Im not sure though am I right?.

I actually set it up to understeer a bit, thinking that it would be loose on the gas. If I had actually practiced, it would have been an easy fix, but it was too late.

Well done Eddie and Wes! 👍

Shame I couldn't be there, been dying to race LMP's for a while now. (without aids)

Sorry I couldn't be of more help for testing Tim, work/time just didn't play out well for me at all this week. :(
I'll definitely be setting up a group of LMP's in the near future. ;)

Setting up this many cars in this little time is no easy task mind you, so a big 👍 to the Doc guys.

Definitely something that id like to do again 👍. Was great work by Tim to get good regs in a matter of days and I thank him for it :).

Only thing that I was upset about was the tire wear of the Audi. Don't know if it was my driving, my setup or the car itself. Dont get me wrong, the car seemed fast compared to the 908. Even with the disconnection, and all the lag, it was still fun. I got to lead the race for a few seconds

Definitely do this again, but it would probably be better on one room for each class. If I had practiced more, and had a better setup it would have been great.

Seemed like all the Peugeots and my R8 were burning through tires in about 7-8 laps. I stretched it to 9 on light fuel but it was probably a bad idea since I had a spin. How quickly were you chewing them up?

3, 4 laps

Sounds a lot like me, I can't believe I qualified that slow though.. Ah well. I'd love to run something like this with you all again, and hopefully be more competitive this time;). Congrats to the winners!

The RX-8, the way it was, is actually a great car. If changes were to be made, I would slow the other cars down, not add speed to the Mazda. I actually prefer to have my race cars in game actually slowed down or given less grip so they act more like a real racer. Sometimes the cars in this game actually handle too well, or the tires are too sticky and it starts to make it less realistic than it should be. Which for me, isn't all that fun.

Had an amazing race. Really fun trying to stave off the Biffy. It got really close at some points. He passed me early in the race after I spun out leaving the pits xD

No damage done so I was lucky but it took a Looooooooong time to finally pass him again. I ended up doing it 'cause he wasn't taking fuel on his stops and I was always taking at least 15 liters (splash and dash) so when he had to make his stop for the ton of fuel needed for him to finish the race, I casually whisked by.

Great job to every one!

And yeah... we really need to talk about the potential with this combo. sometime soon... >.>

Maybe something along the lines of Continental Sports Car Challenge? I know there was a dedicated series on here, not sure if they're still going, but it would be cool to run an endurance race on Daytona similar to today's race, but maybe for only an hour and a half, with Continental cars, just a suggestion:P

I was getting 7 laps out of the R10's tyres also, but I assumed the Peugeots were getting 9/10. Maybe it wasn't so bad, but I failed miserably :)

I'd definitely be up for another run, but I'll be taking the GT class next time for sure.

I was in that series, but pretty much everything was wrong with it, and I ended up quitting after the 2nd race.

Well I'm sure we could all make something work for at least one enduro race.

What about a bi-weekly, or "whenever the real race is scheduled" endurance series?

unfortunate that we don't have road atlanta or sebring; but LeMans, Spa, and Nurburing all have FIA 24 hour races to do a 2.4 weekend.
Wouldn't take too much more effort to get the cars on par at something down closer to ~550pp level for GT. The prototypes are almost there and might be able to get the pesky's into the mix on the tracks without banking.

Ideally the grand vision I had would be to have the classes split with one room each of 12 cars. And run a quali-day to set the grids beforehand. Make a "weekend" out of it. Qualify saturday, race sunday; and to make qualifying day more fun run little "Porsche Heritage" sprint races (since we don't get 911 RSRs which really belong in the field... thank you EA) through the day with the RUFs (RGT, BTR, Yellow Bird) spec, no tuning. Give bonus points to the best lap(s) times in each car or podium finishes.
Then you know... track points accumulation across the endurance triple-crown.
