Well, I don't have remote internet so I can't keep you updated during my race back home. As soon as I get back I will.

But it's taken me a year to finally start this series.

There's no second chance to race here, but you can always watch Indy later.

In-fact, I skipped Monaco F1 for me to set this race up properly and then proceeded to ruin it for myself by accidentally reading Lewis Hamilton's status update on Facebook.

Beginning vehicle inspections in room B in 14 minutes:

Missing drivers:

GTP_mcfizzle / Scott McNeil
GTP_Hydro / Marc P.
MULE_9242 / Steve Olliff

Clearing cache after doing remote races for the last 14 hours

coming

Tony, you getting compatibility connect errors or something?

hmm... paul and hydro have bounced in and out as well.
play nice gt5 :/

This would be the optimum time for us to switch host to Litchi and see if that works as we would all connect up in time for checks.

Thanks.... that room was looking cursed

tony & paul weren't connecting correctly :/

Disconnected a little upset but its whatever no biggie. Got screwed right of that bat by some *&*^ trying to be to aggressive entering a corner on the first lap not gonna say any names. Just dont see the point of driving that aggresive in a 2 hour race just stupid either way have fun with the race.

I officially resign from the series. The longest race I've ever done is one hour, and even after vigorous excercise before the race and sitting in different positions, I began to achy from sitting so long. Sorry guys, but 2 hours is too long for my wimpy body. I'm going to go for a run.

Had a lot of fun in Room B race.

Awaiting word on A's outcome, looks like the usual room trouble :/

Anyway, the race was intense, but my car felt awesome and I was able to put in constant 20 minute stints. Pulled away from the Peugeots right away but then got caught by Hydro and Fabio and it was a very intense chase for a long time about half way through the race. Caught up with a lot of GTE battles so there were a bunch of close calls and antsy passes but overall I think every one performed brilliantly with each other and their classes.

Ended up having a wall sandwhich around the mid-point of the race coming out of the turn with no name and Fabio was able to pass, he got damaged on lap 34 though so we were kind of put back on an even level from then on. My accident happened as I was going into pit anyway so I didn't lose too much. I also got passed by Hydro.

On the stop before that, and the reason the two Pugs caught me, I took a full fuel amount, other than that, my other five stops I only had to take fourteen liters each time.

I had a good battle with Fabio for a bit but our strategies were pretty different, he was doing 25 minute stints I believe. So I was able to eventually pull away to finish with a gap of around 35 seconds at the end. Completed 53 laps, crossed the line just barely before the two hour mark. Briefly considered slowing so I would complete the race right at time, but decided to keep on to complete another lap just for kicks. That seemed to shake up the GTE race though. In which I believe Hancock took it, which would make for a double Audi B room shut out!

Anyway, it was awesome to battle Fabio like we did, we could really see the differences in the characters in the cars during our battles. I would pull a large gap on him doing through the first sector then he would eat away at it till it came down to a couple second by the line, then the same thing would happen over again, quite a brilliant way to have a race.

Passing the GTE cars was not easy sometimes, especially when I was on worn tires and they were on new ones. The draft pull also kept throwing me off, I'd think i was far enough away to not be affected by the dirty air but then I'd suddenly look at my speed and be up by ten.

It was a great run though, it got me really excited for Le Mans in two weeks, it's just going to be amazing.

Thanks to every one who did their duty and put in their dues for the great endurance race in France, time to prepare.

Results for Spa should be complete and up by tomorrow, you can check them by going to the support site and checking the standings and Round 1.

Edit:
Also cool to note, the replay was just under 200mb, which makes it transferable.

I ended up finishing 4th after a series of missteps and a fuel miscalculation cause me to pit at the start of the last lap. Overall it was great though, I had a lot of fun and two really good battles towards the end of the race.

So to start I was able to make a pass on WRP at the top of the hill on lap one, Wardez moved to first and I moved to second. I felt good, fell like I had a good rhythm going for the first 3 or so laps. Then I started to make a few mistakes and just didn't feel good with the car. I got 4 tires on to the green exiting La Source and WRP and Hydro were able to sneak by. Then another mistake allowed the last LMP car to pass me. From then on until about min 35 it was really bad as my wife was out of the house and all of a sudden she was calling my cell and work cell repeatedly. She knew I was racing so I figured something was wrong and spent about 15 minutes trying to call her while driving on straights.:dunce: Don't talk and drive. No accidents or problems but the laps were really really slow like a few 18's I'm pretty sure.

So I finally get a hold of her and everything is fine so I can return to driving. I start getting in a good rhythm and next thing I know I'm starting to see Hydro and WRP at the end of their pit runs. I concentrate on running fast laps, which I did a good job of and with about 18 minutes left I exit the pits(on a stop where I took no fuel:banghead:) right in front of Tim and just behind Hydro who had one more stop to make. This was my best segment of the race as I ran a great pace, made some daring but clean passes on GTE cars and was able to move into 3rd when Hydro pitted.

I thought I was good until the end but on what I thought would be the last lap I realize Wardez is going to get one more in and I'm going to run out of fuel about halfway. I stop for 5 liters of fuel but accidentally take tires and watch as Hydro exits La Source just ahead of me and taking 3rd(from reading Turbo's post I guess you can't choose no tires? Never tried.) I was able to close the gap enough to get a good draft exiting Stavelot but just not enough to get inside him on Blanchimont. We make a little contact there and are flying to the bust stop were I tried one last time but braked a little too late and slid into Hydro entering the Bus Stop. At that point I just let him recover and get back on track and take 3rd place. A lot of fun and a very tense last half hour. Nice job everyone. Tim and Marc it was a lot of fun at the end, something I didn't expect once I lost you guys early in the race.

Good race guys. My first long race with heavy damage and I paid the price. Twice I took significant damage and both times it was on my 2nd lap after pitting so basically put an end to any podium hopes pretty early.

Had a few good early battles, but got smothered off the start after Eau Rouge. So much for pole position... I was third exiting the first corner... Behind Mcfizzle and Eddie taking off into the distance. Got back by for 2nd, but my tire wear was terrible. I could only mange 8 lap stints before the rubber was useless.

I really could have used a break about half way through that race... had a hard time focusing down the stretch. Not sure I'm up for 3 hours... a bit too much for me and I'll probably let the younger guys have at it in Le Mans.
